Attempt to clean [analog] head switching noise

Only tangentially related to MiniDV.

Just playing around with trying to remove/decrease head switching noise bar at the bottom of digitally captured analog videos.

This might not make it into the final "WinDV-style app" I am working on; it takes a bit long (~23 seconds of work on a decent laptop per second of footage), and might not even be something anyone wants??

So far it works, and retains the footage losslessly, except for the portion that is changed of course.

Shot a concert on my Sony DCR-DVD101, now showing C:13:00. How could I retrieve the footage off the mini DVD’s?

I shot a show on my Sony DCR-DVD101 and the footage played back fine on the camera that night. After a long night of shooting, it started giving me C:13:00 on every disc. It can still record on a blank disc, but it won't play anything back, even the test clip I just recorded. So I can't finalize my disc.
The disk is unreadable on my external disk reader. It reads regular full size discs fine, and it even read a different mini disc, but with the discs that have my footage it just says No Media Inserted. I've recovered footage off a bad disc before using ddrescue and ffmpeg in Terminal.
But I'm almost at my wits end. Any advice?

My camcorder isnt taking my tapes (JVC GR DVL520EA)

I got this from a relative a few months back, its been working pretty fine up to this point but suddenly it told me to eject and reinsert tape, then when I did the tape wouldnt go back in, then there was a period where the mechanism wouldn't go back in at all, has anyone seen this before?
