Missouri judge sides with GOP, blocks voters from challenging gerrymander

🚨BREAKING: A Missouri judge ruled that voters cannot use the referendum process to challenge the state's congressional map — a win for Republicans in their yearlong fight to keep a pro-GOP gerrymander in place for midterms.

An appeal is expected to move quickly. https://demdock.com/4cs16j6

I need your help to build a Missouri citizens initiative for the S.T.O.P. Act

The S.T.O.P. Act

I want to organize a statewide Missouri citizen initiative petition, similar to the process used for marijuana legalization, called the S.T.O.P. Act.

S.T.O.P. stands for:

Surveillance — limits on warrantless tracking, facial recognition, license-plate readers, and government surveillance.

Transparency — public records, public contracts, public meetings, and clear reporting on surveillance and policing.

Oversight — independent audits, public approval before new surveillance systems are used, and stronger accountability for government agencies.

Policing & Privacy — police misconduct reporting, use-of-force audits, data-deletion rules, privacy protections, property-damage responsibility, officer decertification for serious misconduct, and protections against unlawful surveillance.

The goal is not to make law enforcement unable to do its job. The goal is to protect everyday Missourians from abuse of power, secret surveillance, lack of accountability, and government overreach.

I am looking for Missouri attorneys, law students, policy people, organizers, researchers, designers, and regular citizens who want to help make this legally solid and statewide. I especially need help making sure the language is constitutional, enforceable, clear, and organized correctly for an initiative petition.

If you care about privacy, accountability, civil rights, and making government answer to the people, please comment or message me. Let’s build this the right way. If you want to lend legal help, help organize and build a movement to take our rights and freedoms back from a government hell bent on ignoring the privacy of the people please give this a read and your support.
