Any Electrical Journeymen looking for a job?

There is an Electrical Supervisor job that opened today for the city of San Francisco. The location isn't in San Francisco. It's at Don Pedro lake. I know its a bit of a drive but if you have 5 years of verifiable journey level experience as an electrician you can make 154-188k a year. I'm just trying to help out my neighbors with a good job. This only pops up once every 40 years or so, so I thought I'd spread the word.

What to do in Modesto

Is there really anything to do here? I’ve lived here my whole life so I know the answer is already no hahah. I realized going to the gym and knightsferry is the only thing I enjoy here. I’m a big outdoorsy guy. And palladium is not my scene. I love clubbing don’t get me wrong but more so clubbing in different countries, not in the 209 lol. Any recommendations to do here? Hidden gems and what not

They are soooo good and I’ve been dying to make some at home.

no hate please! rave question

this post seems really funny to make but honestly i don’t know where to start i’m young 22 and im from here yall know there is nothing to do short story i wanna start making rave events here for youth so young people to try to have them look forward to something some weekends maybe keep them out of trouble i know how to make music already but how do i start getting my own gigs (not in a club) actually more like having secret location spots like an abandoned building for the event and keeping the location a mystery to get more attraction and also getting the info out to people! please no hate about this or anything about modesto having nothing out here the whole point is to promote new events.

When you live in Modesto do you miss big city life or is that the point of living out there?

As someone who lives in the Bay Area I like visiting parts of the Central Valley to get away once in a while but I don't know if I'd want to live there. I guess you have a lot of options if you like nature and the Sierra Nevada but you're missing so much that a big city has to offer. I could see people really liking that small town agriculture type community or totally hating it and wanting to get out. I'm sure people who live there chose their reasoning for being out there. I'm just curious.

After 6 Months Our Foster, Roady, Is Ready To Find His Forever Home. Co-Foster Also Available! Info in Post

My wife and I decided to foster Roady through the Stockton Animal Shelter as he was overdue for termination and something about him drew us to him, and after 6 months of caring and training we feel like he's ready to find his people.
Roady is an approximately 2 year old male neutered Amstaff Terrier / Pit Mix. He is brindle colored and weighs approximately 45 lbs. He currently has all of his shots and is ready to board / enter doggy daycare if needed.
My wife and I have had Roady under our care for the last 6 months and he truly is a special dog. He is completely housebroken and is able to be left by himself with basic dog-proofing precautions. He is very good on a leash, tending to want to stick by his owner during the walk. On a leash he is very non-reactive towards other people and other dogs and other stimuli. Around the home he is the ultimate "velcro-dog" he loves spending time close to his people and is very snuggly and loves pets. He is also excellent around other dogs in the house as well - we own a 20lb terrier and a 70 lb Aussie and he just fell right into the pack with both dogs, loving to play and snuggle with the other dogs as well. He is not possessive over food or toys. We do not know how he does around children as we do not have children ourselves.
Roady is a rescue and has come so far in the last 6 months that he's been with us. He's adjusted to riding in cars, trips to the vet, being boarded, learning crate training and having new people visit the home. Roady is very sweet and faces most situations in life very shyly and is a little bit of a "scaredy cat". In short he's a lover not a fighter. He is going to be a hard dog to say goodbye to but ultimately we are looking for his Forever Home in someone who is willing to love him back. If you are interested in meeting Roady for ownership or co-foster please send me a DM. Thanks again!

Parents Behaviors

I work at a few sites (mostly elementary level) in Modesto and the behaviors of parents I’ve observed this week have been NUTS!! Moms fist fighting in the parking lot, parents cussing out staff in the office, parents cussing and screaming at other parents or staff in the parking lot when they have a car full of kids. I truly do not understand what possesses adults to behave like this in front of their children and other children. You are on school grounds why are we behaving like this and also treating staff so poorly when these are the people who are trying to help your students. And why are the schools even allowing their staff to be treated like so 😭 the entitlement is wild and also just sad no wonder kids behave so poorly when they have adult figures like such

We need to stop these inhumane acts against animals!

This is absolutely inhumane and insane. Feeding animals should never be against the law, they did not ask for this life they’re living!! Where do we draw the line!?! If you live local we need to try to fight this!

Anyone ever take Called2Arms Gun Range CCW Class? What can I expect? How is the live firing portion of it? I’ve only ever taken my CCW Classes with a different company.

BBQ Catering recommendation

Stuck on a work trip and want to get some BBQ delivered to my uncle and the family in a few days.

That place on Kansas Ave. shut down but does anyone know if anyone has a food truck in town who can do this?

I’m talking about traditional BBQ with the usual fixings btw. Thank you!

Most likely place for pickup basketball on a Sunday evening?

As the weather cools through October. Where's an outdoor basket court people might play pick up basketball throughout the week, especially on Sunday evenings?

Recommendations?

The Golden Touch Disco

Hi! I was curious if anyone was familiar with the Golden Touch Disco that was operated in the late 70’s by Cynthia and George Marshall?

On New Year’s Eve 1981, George Marshall shot and killed his 23 year old wife Cynthia Marshall, her 13 year old brother Jeffrey Lee and a boarder that lived in their home, 26 year old Henry Thomas.

George Marshall received the death penalty for this, and passed away in 2001 but maintained his innocence. He claimed the police pinned the crime on him.

I’ve been curious as to how the Golden Touch Disco looked like.
