Does anyone have a good Normal or Pierce HBG build?

I noticed there aren't any Normal or Pierce HBG in the Wilds meta link. Are these 2 that weak?

If anyone have some build for em, pls do share. Thank you.

How can I get better at assessing a LBG's strengths and weaknesses?

I just killed Magnamalo in Rise for the first time and was very excited to make its weapon, but it's ammo stats just seem to... suck. My Normal 2 rapid fire gun seems to do more damage with normal bullets, and my pierce 1 and spread 1 rapid fire bowguns do more with pierce and spread respectively. It has Exhaustion rapid fire but I'm not sure if that's even useful or what exactly it does.

There seem to be a lot of bowguns with really awkward ammo traits. The Bishaten one is another one. A part of me doesn't believe that they're truly useless, so I must be missing something. Are they really pointless, or is there something I'm (likely) missing about their playstyles/use cases?

Right now I rely heavily on Rapid fire traits to determine what a gun is supposed to "do", so a gun without much (or any) rapid fire on primary damage types makes me wonder what it's good for, if anything. I want to know how to determine the strengths and weaknesses of guns without relying solely on rapid fire.

Sticky LBG

Hey guys, the sticky rajang LBG was one of my favorite builds in World, but I haven't touched the weapon at all in Wilds. Is sticky ammo viable in Wilds to keep the monster constantly stunned?

If not what are the best ammo/LBG options for the endgame?

Is there a list of generally good Armor Sets/Pieces?

Been hoarding my Armor Spheres because Idk which Armor Sets/Pieces are worth using them on.

Kinda omw to get the Nadia set and the AT Arkveld pieces, bur I'm not doing well atm, so maybe I need to Armor Sphere it up, but again Idk which ones...

Currently using SnS (a bad Gogma one), if that matters, but working on branching out to LS, DB, CB, and LBG

Mhwilds Charge blade impact or element phails?

I was fighting TGoremagala with my fire elemental phails charge blade, but it was so difficult

Sure my cb do some dmg but I found it really hard to get the right timing to land AED and its follow ups on its week point.

So I looked up a video on youtube how do they do this in speedrun, but surprisingly they use impact phails with fire chargeblade, so it confused me now

Impact phails are good cuz you can stun the monsters and exhaust them, but also it's not able to maximize dmg like elemental phails do.

From my opinion speed runners always have the best strategy to execute a hunt.
So I want to ask if an element charge blade with impact phails are more effective and more practical than going just full raw dmg impact phails and full dmg elemental phails now?

Tell me about your ultimate GS build before tackling Ascendance or perhaps just a super fun build you love!
I'd love to hear different build ideas and inspire me to try them out!

Updated Sunbreak LBG Builds (Progression & Endgame) - 2026 Edition

Rejoice, for the Sunbreak LBG Progression and Endgame Guide has received a total overhaul in the big 2026!

Unlike other modern MH titles, Sunbreak's armor meta cannot ever truly be "solved", as Qurious armor augmentation introduces far too much variability from one player's account to the next. At the time of Sunbreak's final title update, it felt like build-making was totally open-ended; conversely, this made guide-writing all the more difficult. Three years have passed since then, however, and theorycrafting has come a long way.

This updated guide represents the culmination of three years of efforts to provide easy-to-follow progression sets that adequately prepare the player for key difficulty spikes; to incorporate efficient comfort skills into builds to help the average player deal with Sunbreak's aggressive roster; and to make reasonable endgame builds that don't require hellish RNG.

Notable changes include:

  • massive priority increase on Dereliction, the strongest comfort skill in the game (unironically!). In addition to being one of the largest per-point damage increases possible for ele (and still great for raw), it combines with Dango Self-Kelp to turn the otherwise detrimental HP drain into comically large guaranteed damage reduction. Combine with Bloodlust and Intrepid Heart for best results. Melee players may scoff at this, but recall that surviving hits is not normally something that Ranged players get to do, so the trade-off of HP drain is well worth the ability to periodically live instead of dying. (Dereliction is worth it anyway because of the superb damage increase it confers, but people think the drain is way scarier than it actually is and may be inclined to drop it without realizing that they're making the game harder.)
  • Evade Extender 1 in most builds. 50% increased roll distance completely transforms how many matchups can be played; many attacks that would have normally taxed a wirebug to Counter can instead be rolled, enabling more aggressive positioning and better uptime.
  • Greater emphasis on Rapid-Fire guns. Better ammo economy (often preventing a restock), faster Intrepid Heart buildup, and oftentimes superior gun characteristics (compared to abominations like Khezu gun's stationary shooting) make this a no-brainer. SF guns are still great for speedrunners but this guide does not apply to you (Gorm S3 is good tho).
  • Bloodrite/Blood Awakening deprioritization. These skills, though powerful in many matchups, fall apart in some of the hardest fights in the game, yielding disappointing uptimes against monsters like the Risen Elders whose parts break relatively late into the hunt. Furthermore, with Dereliction + Dango Kelp + Bloodlust + Intrepid Heart, the most dangerous part of the hunt is in the very beginning before your defensive skills can ramp up, which Bloodrite does nothing to solve. Perhaps most damning, though, is that they are simply too expensive to accommodate on builds, forcing key armor pieces like Kushala chest (godlike skill efficiency) and Archfiend boots (dereliction my beloved) to be replaced with PMal's frankly mediocre pieces.
  • Updated matchup chart. Sunbreak enthusiasts have pushed the game a lot in the last three years and this is simply reflective of the community's improved understanding of how to kick the roster's teeth in. Note that this is targeted at a more casual audience; for example, Gold Rathian speedruns favor Thunder ammo, but using Spread on its legs to make it repeatedly fall over is far easier to execute while not losing much DPS, so the chart accordingly recommends the latter.

Currently the guide has skill priorities, progression sets, endgame builds, and the updated matchup chart. The hope is to eventually expand the guide to include more general LBG info, but the authors decided to publish the guide in the Oops! All Builds state due to unusually high recent demand for Sunbreak LBG builds. Feedback is welcome as always. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Big thanks to RadiantSnowfall, Damo, and Crowsfoot for making this guide a reality (I am merely posting on Reddit on their behalf with permission).

Paging u/EchoesPartOne to put this doc in the Megathread (Kat has already given their blessing and replaced their old albums with in the MHGH pins with this one).

Coming back and I’m not sure how to farm

I left for a couple months, and coming back I’m missing a lot of decos and talismans I’d need for a decent build. Are there any good quests for these, because right now all the monsters on my map are just giving artian parts and not decos.

Gogma GS advice

So I manage to craft a couple of Sharpness x1 and Atk x4 rolls but i am unsure on what focus to go for.

I read the guides advice to go for affinity focus for "safe" gameplay but just wanted to be doubly sure before i commit to focusing as it took me hours to get these rolls. Further to the sharp x1 and atk x4 rolls. I have a roll for atk x1, element x2, aff x1 and sharpness which i plan to go into element focus for gog.

Can someone help please and thanks.

Does The Blackest Night activate Latent Power?

I see in the Great Sword Meta Set(TU 4 Updated) google docs that it does if I use The Blackest Night to counter to leave my HP at 1, but when I do, it doesn't activate Latent Power at all. Did I understand this wrong?

General Player annoyance

In MW i capture all the time like a 8/10 rating only really killing when i says Slay not Hunt, i usually play by myself but recently i redownloaded and was like i should put it on public join(Bad idea) everyone that seems to join Slay the beast and not capture.

I was like its my fault its not like im telling them to capture, so i decided to put “Capture or Leave Please” as the joining message but people still try to kill it, only some listen and capture( I think their like me and like to capture) so i decided if you kill attacking the monster after the skull pops up ill kick you from quest.

Why dont people capture when in pubs to get more loot. Like i understand solo tryna to get a best take down time but in a party that wants to capture they get in the way of looting, im MR 150 im thinking people would capture pass 70 but i thought wrong.

How do you the reader feel about me kicking people( btw i wont stop) does it make sense?

Bow Builds Under HR100

Help me once again!!! This sub has been awesome and I’m learning a lot about the game. I had some great input when it came to LS but now I’d like some recommendations on Bow builds for under HR80. I do not play Bow myself but I understand it, this is for my cousin who plays with me.

Why does the Meta ark bow set have counterstrike?

You cannot proc counterstrike on perfect dodge, so wouldnt there be a better damage skill?

Optimal damage combo for Gunlance in AT Arkveld arena quest

Title, I'm mostly (ps5) blocking into triangle + circle triangle triangle I believe. I am at ,8:09 solo and kinda just need a tad bit more. Beat the game with GL pre TU4 but I don't think I really knew what I was doing, only have like 150 GL uses. Thanks!

Want to switch from gs

Hello everyone. Gs main here since the beginning of wild but dropped the game after gog. I wanted to return and switch from GS to charge blade but I'm completely lost with all the builds. Don't have that much free time to play so I need help finding a build that is easily reachable and still have fun with. Don't care if it's not meta. Just viable is enough for me. But farming gog for the two mandatory skills in the builds I've seen is too long for me. So I would love to have a build on impact cb for AED loop play style with 1 gog skill max for the weapon. Pre 10 stars monsters. I have artillery 3 talisman with 1 slot or artillery 2 / rapid morph 1 with 2 slots Thx a lot 🙏

Sorry for bad english. Not my native langage
