Apartment Hunting

My fiancee and I are apartment hunting in Montclair. We have around a $3100 budget, wondering if there are any places you guys recommend checking out or places to absolutely steer clear of. Thank you!

Budget: $3100
1 bed, 1 bath
In unit laundry, nice to have but not needed
Easy parking
Walkable to train stations

Ideas for getting in/out of NYC on the weekends

(NYC/Commuter advice)

I went to NYC Saturday night and re-experienced how difficult and expensive it can be. The round-trip alone cost me $60 and added 3 hours of travel time to a 2-hour dinner.

Anyway, it prompted me to revise my list of "alternative ways to get in/out of NYC".

Can you help make this list better?

Finding mom friends - Montclair area?

I know this is pretty specific but wondering if anyone has any specific suggestions in this area.

I have a toddler and really would love to find structured ways to connect with other parents in the area since so many of my long term friends are an hour+ drive away. Playgrounds and libraries can be great but I never run into the same parents consistently. I’ve tried gym classes but also not always the same people and not always people who are looking to make friends necessarily.

Would love to hear is anyone has had any success with specific activities/locations/classes to try!

Help Recreating Gary #2 from Watching Deli

Looking to try recreate a DIY version of this amazing sandwich. Was it roast beef, russian dressing, and possibly a cheese on a kiser roll? I moved out of state in 09 and would always looking forward to getting one when we came back to visit the area but alas this is no longer an option. Thanks in advance.

Restaurants with a private dining room

Hi all, I’m looking for suggestions for restaurants that might have a private or semi private dining space for an afternoon lunch for around 17 people. Would love something where we could just pay a minimum F&B instead of a rental fee. Can be in Bloomfield, Montclair or surrounding areas! TIA
