Here is my definitive ranking of the best Earthrealm defenders and champions in Mortal Kombat lore, based on their combat prowess, achievements, and dedication to protecting Earthrealm:

1. God Raiden – The eternal protector and God of Thunder. Without his divine guidance and power, Earthrealm would have fallen to Outworld long ago.
2. Liu Kang – The Chosen One and Earthrealm's ultimate champion. He has defeated Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Shinnok, proving himself irreplaceable.
3. Kung Lao – The descendant of The Great Kung Lao. His speed, razor-rimmed hat, and martial arts mastery make him almost equal to Liu Kang. [1]
4. Johnny Cage – The Hollywood star with an ancient Mediterranean bloodline. His unique green shadow aura makes him capable of fighting gods.
