So my phone is not powerful enough to capture log what are my other options?

As title. What i conclude is i need to capture in raw as this was fine and can capture upto 4k 30fps.

Now

What is the next step after taking raw video.

1: Shift that raw directly to Computer to edit?

2: convert that to any log like aria log and then shift it to computer.

If the second method is more preferable as i can use technical lut to revert back the log file to normal looking one. So what is the best log u guys suggest.

I use premiere pro.

300$ Phone reccomendation

i want to get into filmaking for fun aswell as getting a new (secondhand) phone to upgrade from my crippling vivo y33s, budget is 300$, my options so far are the POCO f6, S22 base, Redmi note 14 pro+ and the xiaomi 12 pro, they qll cost roughly the same, exepction is that the poco f6 has 512gb of storage compared to the others 256

the other phones seems to have better sensors while the f6 has the best raw performance specs and cooling, is it worth it to comprimise for the inferior IMX 882 sensor in F6 for its raw specs, is it good enough for low light? or does it not matter as much? i want to get as much value for my money, Thankyou!

Xiaomi 17 ultra vs sony fx38

Im noob trying to step in video graphy just to know basic

Is a professional camera better than phones?

How do I compare it with a mirrorless which has the same sensor?

How can differentiate that motion cam is better or some kind of professional camera because maybe that camera is better in depth details?

MotionCam Pro V5 Trial Update is Now Available! Try out all the features and capabilities with only a 5-second recording limiter.

All the app features are available with the only limitations being how long you can record: 5 seconds.

This means if you want to try DCG, Shutter/ISO Priority modes, or any of the brand new features such as the improved Direct Log, Direct Preview, Photo Mode, Rendering capabilities or anything whatsoever, it will all * work exactly as the Pro version!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncam

EDIT: If you see the star, that's because I'm amending this hahahaha. It does appear that moving forward there will be limits on the photos to be taken daily (5 Photos/Day) and you cannot import presets created by the community. Although this still doesn't impact the capabilities, in order to do it the easy way you will need to buy Pro version. Hopefully this clarifies the confusion and my apologies for not making it clearer 😅

I made a small phone-controlled camera plugin for Assetto Corsa

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a small Assetto Corsa plugin called RealCam ARKit, and I wanted to share a quick test.

The idea is pretty simple: I’m using my iPhone to control the in-game camera in real time. In the video, the movement you see on screen is coming from my actual hand/phone movement, not a replay camera or a normal controller.

It works with Apple ARKit, so for now it’s iPhone only, and it requires at least an iPhone 12 to use it properly.

It’s still an early beta and there are probably some bugs, but I’m pretty happy with how it feels so far. The goal is to make more natural handheld-style shots for cinematic clips, replays, content creation, etc.

I’m not trying to make a huge promo post, I mostly wanted to show the concept and see what other Assetto Corsa players think about it.

Would this be useful for people making videos or cinematics in AC?

Any feedback is welcome.

5.0.6 Trial no shutter priority

Have a poco F8

Snapdragon, Level 3 Control Api

Stock camera app has shutter/gain priority

No shutter priority in V5, same as V4 ...

Is this normal ? Thought it works on SD

V5 "Encoder Complexity", HEVC Profile Main10/HDR10

It looks like we got a bunch of new settings in V5? Encoder Complexity is one I can't figure out.

I don't see it in the manual?

https://f005.backblazeb2.com/file/MotionCam-Public/Manual/FULL%20USER%20GUIDE%20for%20MotionCam%20v.1.0.0.pdf

Using HEVC Hardware 10 bit, I see a Profile box I don't think we had before, Main 10 I am familiar with from FFMPEG. I see we have "Main 10 HDR10" and HDR10+. Any details on what these are? Is it just a metadata thing for HLG/PQ HDR? If so, does it make sense to have them for Log tone curves?

For Prores, the Profile box is where you pick quality, Proxy, LT, etc.

V5 Trial ?

Will the 5 seconds trial be out for V5 ? If this feature is available, I'm interested in testing the auto iso & fixed shutter speed if available. Thx ✌️

MotionCamPro writes incorrect RAW photo header?

I'm using v5 of MotionCamPro on the Xiaomi 15T Pro. As you can see in the screenshot, it recognises the correct Full sensor size of 3072 x 4096 pixel. When the image (jpg and raw) is processed though, the phone identifies them as 1200 x 1600 pixel. When I try to edit the raw image in an app like snapseed, the app doesn't even recognise it as a raw photo.

If I open the raw on my desktop PC in Photoshop though, it can be opened as a RAW and it has the correct size of 3072 x 4096 pixel. So I asume there's a problem with the photo header and incorrect information?

Xiaomi 15 Ultra vs 17 Ultra

Hello, if i would use app for video recording, i think about lighter codec, like h265 and Log. Is there will be a lot of difference? Also if it's matter, i would use 50/60 fps in 4k a lot. And i would buy EU version.

I'm photographer/videographer, just want to upgrade my mobilephone to use it as C cam, BS cam. Sometimes use footage alongside my cameras. Nikon user here.

New to MotionCam on Vivo X200 Ultra — need help with RAW video settings and rendering for a cinematic look

Hey everyone

So I recently started getting into videography and picked up MotionCam on my Vivo X200 Ultra. I've done a bit of research already so I'm not a complete beginner — I know to shoot in 4K 24fps, keep shutter speed at 1/48 for that cinematic motion blur, and keep ISO as low as possible to avoid noise.

I also came across a bunch of YouTube videos where people were saying to shoot in RAW video format to unlock the full potential of the phone camera, which makes sense to me. But that's kind of where my knowledge ends and I start getting lost lol.

What I'm still confused about:

What RAW settings in MotionCam actually work best on the X200 Ultra specifically? Any recommended profiles or tweaks?

How do I handle the RAW footage in post? Do I need to do a lot of heavy color grading or is there a simpler workflow for beginners?

Any good LUTs that work well with RAW footage from this phone?

On the editing side I'm using a MacBook Air M1 — probably going to use DaVinci Resolve since it seems like the go-to for color grading. But I have no idea about render/export settings. What codec and bitrate should I be exporting at to get the best quality without the file size being insane?

Any advice from people who've actually used MotionCam seriously would be really appreciated. Still learning but trying to do it the right way from the start! 🙏
