This damn thing...

...is breaking my heart.

EDIT: I believe the starter sprag clutch locked up, causing the starter motor to be spun really fast. This part was replaced under warranty last summer, so a repeat issue for me unfortunately.

Need your expertise - clutch/gearbox

Hi guzzista's,

I have had issues with my V100S before and had the clutch replaced a few weeks ago. I will first explain what has been done and which issues I have!

This bike is awesome but damn she is hard to love... I have had so many warranty issues, this bike is bought by me brand new and 18 months and 15000km later I have had these issues:

Inner muffler replaced because it was torn after 1000km

Brake discs replaced because of too much play on the floaters

Had my clutch flushed because i had black floating rubber pieces after a few thousand km's. These were o-rings that did fall apart.

Had my clutch checked several times because it did not disengage properly (had air in the system) and the air came back several times.

Still issues so the clutch pump and master slave cilinder were replaced.

Same issue so new dealer after i had lost trust for a couple of other reasons as well (long story but they destroyed my rim, and had several other issues with bikes of friends (all brand new)).

The new dealer checked the clutch and it was completely busted! He replaced it and made sure there is no air etc. The idea of Piaggio is that the clutch got busted by the QS and or manual shifting because of the air in the system. So far so good...

It drives like a nice bike for 1000km and for sure....

She is acting up again, having issues around second gear, the gear box does not seem to properly disengage and she is grinding gears and sticky/cloinking into the lower gears. So that was an awesome trip into the French Mountains.... Had to cut it short and drive it home on the high way. Had a call with the dealer and I will bring her back in...

But i am worrying it might be a much larger issue, including the gearbox. And yes she also does this with the QS! So it might be something else.... But i also had air AGAIN! There were bubbles coming out of the clutch pump into the reservoir....

Pictures of my clutch as she was deteriorating!

Has anybody had the same issues? Something the dealer and I can try, so that I at least can drive for a few years without issues?

O and a second issues popped up! The heated seat disappears and appears on the screen and heated grips are not really warm or sometimes not working. So he is going to look at that as well (he never touched the electronics, but is going to fix it because of the other dealer).

Might actually consider to appeal for a revoke of the sale and buy another bike if things dont change, she never properly functioned.... And that is sad! She is so gorgeous.

Love to hear from you guys

V100 mandello vs gsxs1000gt+

Title pretty much says it all. I currently have a 2019 CB1000R in red, and I LOVE both the styling and riding personality to death. But. BUT. (And this is a huge but) there are a total of zero serious luggage options for it.

I’m looking to do multi-day road trips on her, visit the mountains, etc. I currently have a small commuter-sized side case that could maybe fit a single change of clothes, but even that is cobbled together and blocks access to the passenger pegs.

SO - I’m looking for a sporty performance bike that’s comfortable on longer rides, and natively compatible with larger locking waterproof luggage systems. (Preferably SHAD’s 3P/4P, though GIVI has some attractive options too)

As the title suggests, I think I’ve narrowed this down to either a v100 mandello or a Suzuki gsxs1000gt+. I haven’t seen one in person, but in photos the mandello looks stellar. (I just love a single sided swing arm, like my CB1000R) However in person, the 1000gt+ in red looks the absolute business too, and sitting in the saddle feels just like my current bike. I’m unable to test ride either, as I’m unaware of any dealers near me that allow test rides due to “liability reasons”. Speaking of dealers, I’d imagine parts for the Suzuki would be much easier to come by than the guzzi, as well as service information.

TLDR: has anyone ridden both these bikes and can offer some pro/cons to picking one over the other? Thanks!

V100 Navale

First post as an owner of a 2024 V100 Navale. 750 kms done and loving it. Noticed I have the multimedia option so downloaded the app and hooked up my phone. I don’t have a helmet system but the phone shows calls coming in and the proper icons are on the right side of the display. Looks like the navigation also works but will have to go for a ride to test it.
Question for you Navale owners… was the MIA included on your bike ? My impression was that’s it’s an added option. My bike was brand new no miles.

First wash, and a word of warning

This was the first time that I washed my V100 after 6.5 months of ownership. It’s fairly easy to clean. Lots of brake dust on the wheels, bugs on the wind screen, and road grime on the lower front of the engine. But what I noticed for the first time was that the center of the V does trap things like water and leaves. I noticed one leaf down in the engine but ended up pulling out many more than I expected. Plus it took several seconds of a direct blast from the leaf blower to remove most, but not all, of the water.

I was wondering over the past few months why the bike smelled like toasty leaves when I parked it. Now I know!
