Let's remember Steve (66Sprint) for his contributions to the Vintage Honda Twins world [562x640]

Steve Lohmeyer, aka 66Sprint on the HondaTwins and Vintage Honda Twins forums, passed away last Friday after a long battle with COPD. He was a selfless guy with his time and knowledge and was a massive help to so many at and outside of the forums, often taking phone calls from total strangers who saw his number on the forums and would just unexpectedly call.

Here are a couple of his many creations along the way.

Last off-road riding for me, 1986 at Croom near Brooksville FL, Honda XL250 [830x692]

And I was young and slim then too. Little did I know the lower back fun I would have in a few years after this picture was taken. :(

My first bike in 1968, a Honda CA102 beater for $50 [421x422]

Pushrod 50cc 3 speed semi-automatic clutch, 43 mph WFO laying down and tucked in. But first he made me learn to ride in the defunct orange grove next door, he said "when you learn how to ride properly in that sand, you can ride on the road".

I was 14, didn't yet have my driver's license and later only rode on the street with my RBF father who said "if we get pulled over, I'll do all the talking" because it was on the backroads of the metropolis that was Lutz FL then :)

Mom on my Dad's 1969 SL90 with my S90 (and later, my CA72) in the front yard [914x571]

Shortly after that my father got her started riding on a CT70 at age 45, and great weekend camping and riding times were had for a couple of years afterward.

My Kawasaki Z900RS [1938x2714]

Another great day at the park. Can't remember what kind of bush this is.

1972 Honda CB750K2 - still going strong after 54 years (3024x3024)

My second bike is this 54 year old Honda and it still rides on full MC registration not club plates, Honda made these things so reliable, can you imagine any modern bike lasting 50 years?

Nearly 18,000 trouble free miles on my 1390 Superduke R Evo.

I love my KTM. This is my 2nd Superduke, I had a 2018 1290 and put 19,000 trouble free miles before selling it. Show me your 1390s!

I just can't get over how comfortable and easy this thing is to ride. I need to get my suspension tuned for my weight still

Kawasaki ZX9R 03/98 (1170 x 2080)

This beauty was beaten bad and barely running a couple years back when I took her home. Fixed her up all around and she’s running happier than ever.

Tech’s 03’ E-model fairings and lights are from a 98’ C-model.
