Is it just me, or does the vibe of Murtaza Qizibash’s songs feel so similar to Cigarettes After Sex? Like, you can never really tell when the song has actually ended, feels so similar to me (Not talking about the lyrics, ofc.)

I know sounds really odd how can a song be stuck in head when I don't know the lyrics. I was streaming Pakistani FM radio on 14th August, and this was one of the songs they played. It is not one of the common songs and their variations.

What I remember:

Song style: Old style. Very 60s or early 70s.

Singer: Male voice. Male singer very likely trained on both Eastern and Western singing styles. Sounds very much like Frank Sinatra. Already looked up Sohail Rana on Youtube, doesn't sound like him.

Lyrics: Obviously had the word Pakistan in it. One of the lines was tujh pey qurban meri jaan. I searched for those lyrics on Youtube, found many songs with those lyrics, but none of them are this song.

I’m talking about EP, Aaroh, Noori, Mizmaar, Mizraab that era.

I know the quality of the tracks were horrendous until Peeli Patti aur Raja Jani ki Gol Dunya’s live drums by Gumby.

But still, do you miss that era?

Aoa, I want to gift someone a beginner guitar, idk where to look because I don’t want to spend a crazy amount.
I’m fine buying used but I’m not sure what to look for in a guitar to make sure I’m not getting scammed lol

Was just listening to his Punjabi Tappay at barood khana haveli ( Yt vid) and then his rendition of Niyat-e-Shauq and man his voice and emotion he puts in is so good. I know he did a song with coke studio and I flicked to his older music and looks like he has been doing this for ages. Was I living under a rock or is he genuinely underrated?

He reminds me a bit of Sajjad Ali after he went back to classical.

I know that there really arent many Pakistani blues musicians but I want to ask listeners how big is the blues scene in Pakistan, in terms of enjoying the genre? How many people are listening today?

Who do you think is the best Pakistani guitarist to ever play?

I'd say the two at the top for me are Aamir zaki and Faraz Anwar.

Hi Folks - I am 29 years old living in Karachi. Raised and lived my life in middle class tier and couldn't learn music in childhood.
