On May 19th, 1972, Elton John released ‘Honky Chateau’, his 5th studio and first #1 album in the US. It was the first of John's seven consecutive US number one albums. "Rocket Man" and “Honky Cat” were the two 45rpm singles released from this album.

This photo was taken when Elton John was away from the rest of the band, the afternoon before his legendary Troubadour show in August 1970. His anxieties were getting the best of him. He wanted nothing else but to get on a plane back to England.
