I got put onto anime w deathnote in may of 2025 and since then ive been hooked, anime has so much variety and ive found what i particularly like when watching anime and thats what is ranked above, the tier list is subjective - its a ranking of how much enjoyment i had when watching. I hae enjoyed every one that i have watched just some are better than others. I am new to the scene and would love to hear recommendations based on my rankings as i know ive hardly scratched the surface. ( the tier list is ranked in itself with each row being a ranking of a collection of anime i found to be of similar enjoyment factor for me e.g A tier code geass is higher rated than csm the movie etc )

Wanted to make my own grid because I got tired of seeing the “kids” on here make basically the same grids of mostly the same Shonen anime every day. I also wanted to see how “based” my grid is.

By the way, when I say SnK is overrated, I don't mean it's a bad anime. I just vastly disagree with people who claim it as THE best (or even one of the best anime ever). I loved the first 3 seasons, though. I didn't like the last season and the ending, so that's why I think it's kinda overrated. I should've just said Solo Leveling, maybe hahah

Favorite anime: FLCL
It was a tough one, there are so many great animes. My choise stopped at FLCL because I can rewatch it infinitely. It's relatively short and packed in every way possible. It also reminds me about my childhood sometimes, so that's why it's my favorite.

Best story: Durarara
Another one tough one, I was choosing between Monster, HxH, Code Geass and Durarara. At the end, Durarara was most enjoyable for me. It was a blast of a story, so many characters's paths connecting together time after time in a ways you would never thought, and this huge city atmosphere where you can lost between so many peoply around and at the same time still be connected to what's going on. Whole 4 seasons had me locked in.

Favorite art style: Ouran High School Host Club
Style >> expensive animation, every day and every night. It was crazy for me stepping up into watching this series how 2006 anime can be so outstanding and yet not many shows come close to look this good. I was also considering Mob psycho, Casshern sins and Sayonara zetsubou sensei in this category, but OHSHC is the craziest example for me.

Biggest personal impact: Hibike Euphonium 2
One character - Asuka Tanaka, that's it, greatest person for me. The whole second season of Hibike Euphonium is great, literally the best season out of three, but Asuka's story makes it so special for me.

Best fighting scenes: Blood-C The Last Dark
I'm not really into fighting scenes in anime, they're just there for me and usually don't making me engaged. But this one movie I was enjoying especially after watching this shitty 12 episodes of pure buhshit. It was the biggest payoff in my life.

Overhated: Elfen Lied
Maybe it was all cringe and edgy back in the days, but watching it novadays I can't say nothing bad against this story. Same deal with School Days, like come on, it's not that bad guys.

Underrated: Yesterday wo Utatte
To be honest, I've watched this show when it was airing and find myself really liking characters and whole story. Definitely have to rewatch it, but back in the day I gave it a 9/10, when users rating is somewhat like 7/10.

Overrated: Kaguya-Sama: Love is war - Ultra Romantic
I liked first two seasons of Kaguya, and was planning to watch the third when all the the episodes were out, at this point it already was in top 50 animes of all time, and let me tell you, first half of it was not there. Some major pacing problems in these episodes, idk, it feels more like a filler, gladly, the secong half makes up for it. But overall I gave this season 8/10, and now it's in top-20, I just don't get it.

Has aged well: Boogiepop never laughs
It's the themes that this anime is talking about, also good artstyle but can be a little bit slow for today's standarts. I've might've put Serial experiment Lain in that category, but I've dropped it like three times halfway in idk why.

Criminally Overlooked: Kuuchuu Buranko
Honest to God, I would've never watch this show if it wasn't for unique pin on MAL for some event. Well, it was great. So unique, I've never seen anything like that in my life, I get why it so overlooked but I'm sure that everyone who'll whatch it would like it as well.

Favorite protagonist: FLCL - Naota
Again, it reminds me of childhood a lot, especially moments that happening with him. I like how he's so grown up and serious and yet still have to learn so much in this life.

Favorite antagonist: Owarimonogatari 1&2 - Oshino Ougi
I guess there is no way to go deep into this character and don't spoil the whole show, so I'll just say that it is one of my favorite characters in any media, and it's kinda genius what author made her for.

Best soundtrack: Hanamonogatari
Short season, and yet it contains so much great music.

Best romance: Your lie in april
Damn. I can't think of this anime without a smile and tear in my eye. Your lie in april is not only about this guy love this girl and will do everything for her. There's love in every way you look, it comes in all kinds, some even kill or hurt people you like, some can't be described with just words, some can get throgh time and get you to move on in life. A truly gorgeous message this anime giving.

I want to talk about this one: Rascal does not dream of Santa Claus
The last spot would go to second season of Rascal does not dream of Bunny girl sempai, as I think films after the first one and this season don't recieve this much of attention as first enteries, even though characters grow and story becoming better. I'd like to recomend it to anyone, who watched the first season (there's palnty of those), trust me, you'll like it as well

What anime and characters do y'all think I would mess with based on these? And by Black Butler II, I do specifically mean the non-canon second season. It's beautiful.
