Curry vs. LeBron: Dynasty Builder or Empire Maker—Whose Legacy Defines the Modern NBA?
Stephen Curry and LeBron James have defined the modern NBA through contrasting paths to greatness. While LeBron has built a legacy of dominance by winning four championships with multiple teams over 23 seasons, Curry matched his ring total in just 17 seasons—all with the Golden State Warriors. Curry’s unwavering loyalty and transformative impact in Golden State stand in sharp contrast to LeBron’s adaptability and success across different franchises, highlighting two unique blueprints for achieving basketball immortality.
HoopsHype’s top 15 PGs in the NBA. What would you change?
[1982 NBA Finals Game 6] Jamal Wilkes leads the Lakers in scoring with 27 points to close out the 76ers to win the NBA Championship. Magic Johnson (Finals MVP) with 13 points 13 rebounds and 13 assists in this game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar added 18pts 11 rebs. Lakers had 6 players in double figures.
It’s time to stop with the “Steph isn’t a PG”
The problem is people are assigning playing styles to position. Meaning point guards pass, shooting guard shoot/score, big man are in the post, etc. Just because somebody isn’t a Magic/Stockton/Zeke/JKidd/Nash pass first point guard, doesn’t mean they aren’t a point guard. Pass first is a playing style. You can have combo guards that play both positions like AI/Jerry West, but Steph has literally been labeled a “point guard” his entire career.
Saying he’s not a point guard simply because he isn’t a pass first point guard is ignorance. Play style has complete irrelevance to “labeled position”. That’s like saying Wemby isn’t a Center because he shoots a lot of 3s. So when people say Steph is a top 1-3 point guard, stop saying “he isn’t a point guard” because he isn’t a “pass first” point guard. He is a scoring point guard and it’s literally that simple. His play style does not dictate his position.
Should NBA Greatness only be about rings or records should be part the conversation?
Westbrook tops a lot of charts but will he be in the conversation in years to come?
