Since when does this happen in a touchback?

I had the biggest double take ever here lol. Went from poor circumstance interception to being on defense on my own 5

At this point I'm just gonna skew the sliders back in my favor.

The CPU cheats. Plain and simple. EA gives it every advantage possible.

I audible on offense --- the AI audibles to something that perfectly counters my new play.

AI defense always plays 2 deep on streak routes.

AI players have a speed boost. D2 team players shouldn't be able to blanket my star WR's.

AI defense always blankets receivers and have eyes in the back of their head.

AI offense isn't effected by a home field advantage.

What does the human player get?

- WR's that don't pay attention.

- WR's that drop easy passes.

- WR's that don't make an effort.

- Offensive linemen that miss blocks.

- Dramatic animations where the WR is barely touched but flies through the air and drops the ball.

- Slow WR's.

- Players that don't know what the play calls is or the "WR assignment" when playing in a loud stadium.

I want a damn chess match. I don't want artificial difficulty.

Getting crazy lag

Hey folks, I am at a loss on what to do next. I am getting awful, super choppy lag on my Xbox series X. I am playing an offline dynasty and there are times when the game gets incredibly choppy. I’ve tried the fixes like turning off background capture and deleting the reserved data, but that didn’t fix it. My tv doesn’t have vsync, but I tried to mess with the settings I could. I’m at a real loss for me because I enjoy the gameplay, just have a hard time actually playing sometimes.

Throwing with Anticipation

Thought I’d share one of my bread and butter plays: Sail.

It’s a really simple set of reads with a great checkdown, and it consistently works against Heisman.

Video is Heisman, standard sliders.

Not suggesting the video is perfect or I’m great at the game. Just sharing helpful AI indicators that may help you make decisions more quickly.

Every second counts against the rush.

Attributes and overalls at the end since last time I made a video like this people asked.

Testing results on instant commits

I got curious and bored and decided to do a bunch of testing, many hours worth, and came up with some answers on instant recruits. Biggest takeaways below…

  1. Instant commits are way more rare this year without the Dream School perk. In the two past versions of the game, you could get a 5-star to instant commit about 5 percent of the time assuming you are the recruit’s top choice. It happens far less often this year.

  2. Higher star recruits are less likely to instant commit. I didn’t keep exact stats, but 4-star recruits still seem to commit about 5 percent of the time. But 5-star recruits are far less likely. More like 1 percent.

  3. The Dream School perk is worth it this year. You’ll get an instant commit about 10 percent of the time. Even 5-star recruits are far more likely to commit.

  4. NIL doesn’t seem to matter. Offering max NIL doesn’t seem to make a difference. I didn’t try low-balling high level recruits, but offering the default NIL didn’t appear to lower chances at an instant commit.

  5. Important to note that, at least in Week 0, the commit screen doesn’t come up when you succeed. You have to tab back over from the recruiting actions options to the overview for the recruit to see if it worked. I spent hours doing this thinking it was impossible this year before I realized the commit screen just wasn’t coming up.

Which coach archetype is the best in CFB27?

Last year's game, Talent Developer was the clear dominant archetype. Is there one this year?

Pre-Decided Wins in RTG 27

I really was just gonna chill out and not make this post, but I've played a very specific game within my career a good 7 times now, and the result has been the exact same everything single time. I play a running back, so a lot of things are out of my hands. i get that. however, without fail, my QB throws multiple pick 6s, there are multiple fumbles, and my health goes below 30 percent... its been on heisman the whole time, and i haven't had this much trouble until now. idc what the circumstances are, the game should not be pre-decided to this extent. I was having a great time. not many other qualms to this point, but my god, this like ruins the experience for me sometimes.

Sim engine completely random

Currently doing a dynasty with ULM. I like to quick sim through seasons. No matter what playbooks I try on offense and defense, I always seem to lose two or three games to teams I’m 20-25 overall points higher than. Is there actually any rhyme or reason to sim or is it just completely what EA feels like?

Pass Blocking Help - Check your Depth Charts and Ratings

This isn't a cure all, and I know this is a sort of obvious. But if you're like me and get frustrated by your high OVR offensive lineman getting abused by a much lower OVR DL, make sure you actually check their ratings. In my dynasty I had a center rated 86 OVR, and in my game against UNC he was getting abused by a 75 OVR DT, to the point where every pass play became an adventure. What I had failed to realize was my center had a 71 Pass Block Power rating. I swapped him out for my 80 OVR backup center who has a 84 Pass Block Power rating, and it's a night and day difference, that DT was immediately erased.

TLDR: Do yourself a favor, ignore OVR, go through your depth chart, look at the important ratings. Don't be dumb like me.

CPU blocked kicks

I don’t really buy into the “scripted games” bit, but to me, blocked field goals seem to be the most obvious sign of it if it exists. It’s probably 3 out of every 5 FGs, late in the game when I need 3 to win or tie, I’ll nail the arrow and meter, but my kicker will hesitate and it will get blocked.

Is there a user error thing here or any indication as to why this happens? Or is it just EA doing its best Dikembe Mutombo on me?

Does anyone have a list of the best / most impactful PC mods for CFB27?

Obviously the modding discord exists. However, without a download count or recommend feature it is near impossible to sort through all the mods and tools and find what is actually useful. What mods so far have actually improved your game experience and are worth starting a new save to download?

North Texas or East Carolina for a long-term dynasty?

I’m starting a dynasty this week with some friends, but I’ve only had the game for a day and haven’t really had a chance to learn the recruiting side of things yet.

For my starter team, I ended up with two options: North Texas or East Carolina.

For the long-term, is North Texas the better choice because of its regional recruiting in Texas, or is East Carolina better because it has 525 more total Dynasty Points?

Trying to figure out which one gives me the better foundation to build from.

Forced "disaster" games

I need some vindication here. Am I crazy or is this game completely broken after these last few updates??

These forced, mid-season "disaster" games are just egregious this year. I've been experimenting with my 87 ovr Louisville dynasty, and no matter what I do, the game refuses to allow the cpu to lose (72 ovr 4-6 Boston college). Whether I play it myself, slow sim in game, auto sim, nothing works. Playing it myself has been making me feel like I'm being pranked. EVERYTHING that can go wrong, absolutely will. Multiple times. Ridiculous drops (WHY IS THIS A THING!?!?), not a single receiver open, superman picks or swatted balls, fumbles in the redzone. I mean this is outrageous. This feels like a totally different game than just a few weeks ago. Sliders don't help, overalls dont matter worth shit, D line guys catching up to my 96 speed QB rolling out. My tacklers are nearly phasing through the runner. They're reading my plays perfectly. I know these forced rubberband games have happened in the past, but this is making me want to turn my controller into dust. Competitive gameplay is one thing, but THIS is not what that is. This is garbage.

I feel like I'm in the fucking twilight zone. WHAT the fuck is up with this game??

To review… we now have a meter for throwing, a meter for kicking, a meter for receiving, a meter for QB sneaking, and a meter for intercepting.

Why is everything in this game meter based?

I really hope I can get him in the transfer portal after this season lmao. He can be our Hero baby!

Stat overalls mean nothing

Why is it when you play dynasty on Heisman an 85 speed 87 acceleration LB will guard my 95 speed 96 acceleration WR with gold cutter all game long. And then you can have nothing but green on your blocking matchups all higher ovr linemen and still have your line get absolutely blown up again and again. 77 speed ends catch 88 speed qbs with ease. Then next week youll play a top 5 team and blow them out. Just never seems consistent
