Caught these on a 3.3” Keitech Swing Impact fat on a 1/16 oz Keitech round ball jighead. The bigger 2 hit it hard deep by structure, the little guy over by the shallows where tiny bluegill were swimming around. His belly tells me there are less tiny bluegill than there were yesterday!

This comes just days after the federal government rolled back regulations on dumping of toxic industrial wastewater. Folks, it’s time to get involved and go vote. Hammer your representatives with calls and emails telling them to grow a spine and take action. If you want future generations to enjoy our waterways and natural resources the way we have, something has to be done now.

I was working at my porch table yesterday, and heard birds (a woodpecker and some blue jays) going crazy. I figured they were bickering. Then a crow came and joined in. It was all very loud. I finally got up to peek over the rail and see what was going on. The crow came in to save the day for the other, smaller, birds - I assume this rat snake was trying to get someone’s eggs/chicks! Hope the snake is ok. What a cool scene to watch, though.

Trails in apex are teaming with wildlife, esp near streams and other waterbodies. I had the best experience here recently.
