SAC update

OKAY i will tell you all what really happened after we met with director. hindi mein likhunga bc kyunki angrezi khatam hogyi ab meri baaki translate maarlena

toh hum director se mile. director bola badiya sab sahi hai. fir hum jo bhi board hai clg ka uske chairmain se mile suresh karke koi hai. vo bhi letter liya and said ki will do something about it.

uske baad director ne wo letter grievances ke forward kiya dsw ko chopkar ko basically to handle it.

fir chopkar se 2-3 baar meeting hui behas baaji hui 6-7 log hum gaye the lekin vo maan gya ki thik hai banadenge. lekin tum framework banake lao kaise hoga kaisa structure rhega. YESS THE AUTHORITY was ready atleast in some degree.

uske baad humne constitution banaya sara framework banaya kon kon representative hoga vo kaise kaise elect honge. kya powers hogi. pura dimaag ka bhaang bhosda karke sab kaam kiya.

now the issue was hum nahi chahte the ki SAC aisi weak sa banjaye naam ke liye. kunki vo sirf another club/committee banke reh jaata like SAHYOG which is of practically no use in solving grievances specially which requires bigger action. notes dena map dena chota mota grievance solve krna thats different. kyunki vo bhi professor ke under hi hai. AND NO SAC IS BETTER THAN A WEAKER ONE

so we wanted ki in some way saare club committee saare branches aur hostel se representatives ho club which are different from CR and mess committee
and they would be elected jiska draft humne banaya tha ki kaise elect hote.

ab bhenchod humne socha ki akele sab toh kar nhi skte toh saare club committee ke HC/OC se milte hai baith ke aur discuss krlete ki aage koi conflict na bane.

humne all club committee meeting bhi rakhi invited every HC/OCs personally called like most of them. but bhenchod 1 aadmi aaya uss din

and i can understand why placement season was poor. aur log risk nhi lena chahte
uske upar se 2-4 club committees big ones backed off
kyunki waise hi itni bhasad rhti permissions ki aur ek SAC aur bich mein aajaega over them. and chopkar waise hi sab club committee fest ki gaand maarke rkha hai.

and anyone in there right mind would not want to go against them individually. moreover the main concern from the HCs/OCs were ki they thought SAC will trouble them unke operations mein and we tried to make them understand ki SAC is to question administration not the students.

but it never really worked out also the motivation in 3rd and 4th yr for this is mostly dead nobody wants another headache and also they know the reality and know how hard the fight is. and even after SAC maybe problems will not be solved.

so we also lost motivation gradually kyunki bhenchod kisi ko farak nhi pad rha tha and they were thinking we core team wanted to have all the power. which can be genuine doubt and we did tried to resolve it by trying to include every stakeholder.

In the last we did understand it was never hard to fight the oppressor but it was harder to unite the oppressed.

i hope ki someone takes charge and do it again you can reach out to me if you need any help or insights

We need to prepare

The biggest problem with the prior SAC attempt was mobilisation of the crowd when it was needed. In my opinion, we should do the following:

There are 11 Btech branches, Arch and other Mtech, MCA branches. There are students of 4 Btech years and other years in other branches. We need to have at least one point of contact right now in every branch of every year who can spread this movement to their classmates.

Other views are appreciated. u/Rony930 please provide any ideas. It would be great if the core team could maybe bring back life in that SAC group or more members of the core team could help us in this.

Alumnis we need your help

There was a post about filing an RTI which seems to be a great step towards finding out what's going on. As RTI requires our real names and numbers, it could put us in jeopardy. We would greatly appreciate it if any of you could come forward and help us with this task. It will be very hard for the college administration to subdue someone who isn't in college. We have the queries which we want to pass on to the administration. I will put it in the comments. Others can read it and suggest any additions.

Please help us guys. If you don't then our college will keep spiralling down.

Corruption

One of the first steps that we as students can take towards corruption is to find out where the funds go. We must file an RTI which demands detailed accounts of where the money is being utilised. Once we know this, it will be easier for us to see if any actual ground work is being done for those projects.

RTI requires names and contact of the person filing the RTI. If we want to keep ourselves safe, we have to file it anonymously. Unless someone is willing to take the risk or has contacts who can do this, we can gather together and contribute towards this cause and take some real steps towards understanding what is going on behind the scenes. I would love to hear y'all's opinions.

Seniors and batchmates living in flats, drop your best advice for upcoming flat survivors

Hostel arc ending soon due to CPI 😭

How and where we find flats with less headache? We are 3 people thinking of taking a 1–2 BHK. Should we take help from brokers or search ourselves?

Also suggest some good areas where we can get flats at a reasonable price.

We’ll probably get a vehicle soon, so a little far from college is also fine if the rent and overall scene is worth it.

Also tell us common mistakes people make while taking flats so we don’t get cooked in our first flat hunt 💀

Any advice would really help 🙏🫡

Reddit alone cannot do it. Share this in your WhatsApp groups

Hey everyone

Most of us want to live inside campus in hostels like students of other NITs and IITs do. We also worked hard like them, but still, we are being deprived of basic infrastructure in our college.

Since we don't have a formal student union to channel these requests, the safest and most constructive way to move forward is through our CRs. They already have a good, professional equation with the professors and the administration.

Instead of making a big fuss or complaining individually, maybe we can request the CRs from different branches to bring up these basic points in front of college authorities.

The best place to bring this to the CRs' attention is the newly made WhatsApp group for Counselling Support.

Since that group is already very active and managed by the CRs it’s the perfect spot to discuss this calmly and get their input on how to present it to the faculty.

I am leaving the link to the Counselling Support group right here so everyone can join and keep the discussion constructive:

https://chat.whatsapp.com/GYOKyE6kbqcHK4E8xqD6Ma

If you think this is a reasonable way to handle it, please share this post with your batchmates. It’s just about having a calm, professional dialogue to make our campus a bit better for everyone.

Do you guys actually prefer living outside in PGs, or are we just coping with the lack of hostels?

Hey everyone

I wanted to gauge the room on the whole hostel situation here. For those who are staying outside in PGs or flats: If the college actually provided proper, functional hostels inside the campus, would you move in? Or do you prefer living outside just to escape the college rules?

Honestly, I feel like we are missing out on a massive part of the engineering college experience. If you look at almost any other IIT or NIT, campus hostel life is literally mandatory—even if you are a day scholar from the same city.

Living outside has its freedom, sure, but think about what we lose:

The Community & Bonds: Hostel life is where you actually make lifelong friends, pull all-nighters together before end-sems, and build inter-branch connections. Living in isolated PGs completely fragments the student community. Everyone just goes back to their rooms after classes.

The Commute & Convenience: Waking up 15 minutes before a 9:00 AM lab and just walking to class is a luxury we don't have. Commuting daily through the city traffic just to attend classes is exhausting and wastes so much time.

Campus Culture: If everyone leaves the campus by 5:30 PM, the campus basically dies. Club activities, sports, and casual hangout culture can't thrive when half the college has to catch an auto back to their PG before dark.

Supply dates? Will it be postponed?

Supply dates in the schedule are July 1st to 8th, and college will start on the 16th. Even results are late, is there any chance that the supply will be postponed and happen after the 16th? Asking seniors: What happened last year?

To the seniors/alumni: Everyone says there is "corruption" with our fest and club funds, but where is the money actually going?

Whenever we sask why the college is a mess the standard answer from seniors is always that pofessors and core coordinators are eating the money but we never ask how.

To make a real UGC complaint we need more than just hostel rumors. I am asking fest cores, club heads, or alumni who actually handled the money for club or fests.

If you know how the game is played here, please drop a comment or DM this burner account. No names needed just give me the patterns so we know what to write in the complaint.

Let’s stop just crying about it and actually get some facts.

High Time for SAC

We are seeing a lot of turmoil not only in India but throughout the world. Most of you must have heard about CJP as well. Although this doesn't concern us, this is a great time to mobilize ourselves. I don't wanna be too harsh but the past efforts were an utter failure. Kudos to those who tried to spearhead it but it didn't work out. Personally I don't think it will ever work unless we all get on the ground.

I would greatly appreciate it if there's someone from the core of SAC who could tell us if anything else happened after submitting the letter. If nothing happened then were there any follow-up attempts?
