Base of Operations?

Alright guys.

I think I’m finally feeling confident enough to share some coords… but I’m kinda stuck on the where and how?

So, I’m curious.. where/how are you guys presenting your tracks?

Do you build tracks in existing bases? Or, do you build new bases for new tracks? Do you bother with a full base, or tend to setup a simple platform with the ByteBeat players?

Do you keep things somewhat together? Like, one base per planet, but multiple planets in one star system? Or, are planets graced with your tunes based solely on the fact that you were “there” when you stopped to make said track?

My initial thought was to find a quiet corner of Euclid and build in a single region.. but we all know how long it could take to find that “perfect” place. 🫠

Separately.. this subreddit is an amazing space within the NMS community. I’m absolutely floored by the quality of music that you all are producing. Thanks for allowing me to creep for a while, for being so encouraging, and for, seriously, inspiring me to sit down with my guitar for the first time in MONTHS.

Edit: lol I am absolutely overthinking this! 😂 I spent about an hour cruising around, found a system and said “let’s go.” Hopefully I’ll have something to share by the weekend! I appreciate you all!

Biomes: Radioactive

Obviously this has 2 bytebeats. The storm section (link in the end credits), and the slower outer parts. If anyone wants a slightly simplified version of the slower part let me know. (Minus the vocal effects!)

Weird bug, may be exploitable ?

While building a base and making a tune in it, I had a weird thing happen : A Bytebeat device that's not connected to others has access to the synchronizer (?!).

It's connected to power, and to 6 Bytebeat switches that manage light floors. The cables between the device and the switches go through another device, this one connected to others. Both these devices are scaled up to max size using wire glitch.

I want to test if this is doable on a consistent basis, and I ask of you, kind and wholesome and really really nice reader, to test this as well in your game.

If me and a few other persons are able to do it, that means we could have a way to get a device with its own key / tempo to play exactly when we want in the loop, without having to set up a "mirror device". Imagine the possibilities.

The exact build I'm talking about is in the screenshots. I'll get back with an update once I do my testing !

Update : Just realized it affects the switches too. If I have a BB cable going from a device to a switch and clipping through another device, the switch is triggered by both devices' notes and beats. Have more testing to do :)

Bytebeat playlist - Humble Beginnings

I have finally come around to getting a YouTube channel up so that I can post my tracks on that platform as well, and after some work, I have re-recorded and re-worked some of my tracks to get them all together on a playlist. This has been an awesome experience and I want the community of music makers to flourish. I am no professional by any means, just love listening to, and making tunes. Rock on travellers 🤘🏻 🎸 ✨ 🪐

10 Years of NMS Tribute : 65daysofstatic - Asimov (Cover)

My take on (a part of) 65daysofstatic's Asimov, with a collection of planets and places I went and some things I built (last base shown is not mine, it's the CCB meetup location !).

Huge thanks to Hello Games that kept adding to this awesome game for 10 years, and to 65daysofstatic and Paul Weir for the stunning soundtrack.

Posting this early since I won't be home until Sunday evening.

Grab the song at (-9.64; -145,69), glyphs on the title card near the start and end of the video ! (audio was edited for the video, it won't sound as wide in-game)

Making a discord! Join music enjoyers!!

Second time I’ve come around on this group is some years and thought that’s there’s no way there’s not a group for the people who care about sharing music or getting together with others. I’ve seen streamers on YouTube always getting together dance parties and it’s a shame with the amount of creativity here there isn’t a system dedicated to making and sharing music clubs or bytebeat tracks.

I’m not sure how active the mods are in this subreddit but im going to make a discord for people to come together and share. Leadership in this server should reach out to me so I can give them some support for the discord. Hope to see you all soon.
