MyHomey account + NYC housing connect (duplicate application?)

Hello all, I recently created the MyHomey account which applies to quality lotteries automatically for you, but it dawned on me that I have my own nyc connect application. Does this mean I’m doing duplicate entries? I’m worried now that by having two, I am disqualifying myself? Does anyone know or have any experience with this scenario? I’m on the fence about deleting myhomey account and keeping my primary one. Anyway to reach out to nyc housing connect to let them know in case they want to disqualify me? Thanks in advance!

Reasonable Accommodation transfer

I put in a request for a reasonable accommodation (extra bedroom) and an inter-development transfer. So I know my request has two parts: the request for an extra bedroom and a transfer to a different development. My request has been pending ATAD supervisor review for almost two months. Does it take that long to receive a decision? I submitted medical documents and they didn’t ask me for anything else. They also haven’t reached out to the medical professionals that provided documentation. I’m getting nervous that they won’t approve the request. I’m thinking maybe I should have requested to stay in my development. I wonder if it’s too late. I know it’s NYCHA and things are slow but even when I contact them to ask what’s going on I get no answer back. My housing assistant is never in the office.

NYCHA starting to update EHV holders

i got a letter from nycha yesterday saying nycha has "identified an alternate subsidized housing option" and that nycha or a different property management company would reach out "soon" with more info. anyone else receive this letter, or receive an offer? i'm not hopeful yet bc i need a mobility unit in striking distance of my medical care, but i'm definitely curious. if other people have received offers, where are they? if nycha knows you need mobility and/or vision/ hearing accommodations, did the unit they offered have those?

Anyone dealing with their apartment being cold.

I don’t know what the hell is up with housing but it’s been hellish this year. Like they got the heat on late and even then it was unreliable it would turn off randomly for days and my family would have to put on layers. They turned the heat off completely in March or April and it’s been cold nonstop. It doesn’t help these damn windows aren’t properly sealed.

They got a giant machine that’s I’m guessing is supposed to provide heating but I’m guessing they’re unable to run it for some reason.

Moving out

Hello wonderful people, I have a question. I am currently on my parents section 8 case and will be moving out. I don’t have any income but will my parents be forced to downsize? We’re currently in a 2 bedroom apartment and been here for 3 years. They are both disabled but I’m a not sure what they’ll have to do once I remove myself from the case. Thank you in advance
