As soon as I got the first word I kinda realized what the theme word meant because of the color change lol. Satisfying when complete! And the different emojis instead of the lightbulb and circles were cute.
It drives me CRAZY seeing aroar show up in crosswords but not being allowed in The Bee. I am aroar with indignation.
This week has seen the most absurd and inaccurate puzzles in this game's history. If they don't get this under control Connections will be ruined forever for many of us.
I couldn’t believe it at first - but TWO answers being the BOLD letters in the clue was, for me, genuinely repulsive. I have NEVER felt this strongly before about any puzzle. I was in complete shock after I finished and had to take a step back from my computer and walk around the office. Have they done this before???
It was like someone flipped a switch today. It went from easy-to-beat but challenging (for me), to downright stupid. A lot of plays, all game long, are simple 1 & 2 letter plays.
Is anyone else having trouble with the NYT Games app (iOS) crashing every few minutes? It’s a no-harm no-foul situation since it opens back up right where I left off, but it is annoying. Started yesterday (6/29).
won't post the category in description but we can discuss in comments

My NYT Games app keeps crashing. I'm on an iPhone with updated iOS. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help.
Also, after I uninstalled and reinstalled now the order the games appear in the app is reversed. Wordle is at the top and the crosswords are at the bottom. I'd like it the other way around and don't see how to adjust it (no setting for that).
I submitted a bug report through the app, but it appears they don't have customer service anymore.
Is anyone else having these issues?

I sped right through today’s puzzle (June 25) but I’m >!questioning the author’s pronunciation on one of the purple answers. I do not consider hock(ey) and hawk to be homophones, at least not in my midwestern accent. Are there other regions where people pronounce these words the same?!<
Hey everyone! I built a word game for Reddit and noticed that adding a timer to word search changes the strategy. People seem to rely much more on pattern recognition now. Not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. I’ve been testing this in r/hexicword
Would love to hear what experienced players think
4 different words with walk in them when "walk" was the part of the word that fit for the purple? Fuuuck.
What is going on? The purple category today is what jumped out as most obvious to me, as it would anyone, I would hope... I thought it was gonna be the yellow category. Instead, I was stumped more so by... Wedding gifts?? Maybe just not my generation.
I know purple categories well, and yes they'll often be wordplay, phonetics or whatnot, but this was way too obvious and plain to be in this Connections, let alone the purple category.
What do you guys think?
Hi I made a game called Neurole and I tried to make a neuroscience themed version of the NYT games kind of but like diagnosis? I was wondering if you guys could check it out and give suggestions on its appearance and stuff, any feedback would be amazing
I don’t know, I feel like this should not be a playable word. Sure, it has a “slang” “informal” definition but it’s obviously used most as a slur, in fact, I would be shocked if someone used the word “gook” as its slang definition because it would be really awkward.
I’ve been building a daily word game called TUMBLER for over 5 months now, and I’m releasing it publicly today.
The puzzle is simple to pick up: you get 6 tries to crack a 4-letter code. But instead of standard Wordle-style feedback, each guess gives you color + directional clues, so you’re narrowing letters by whether they need to go higher or lower in the alphabet.
The part I think makes it a little different is the crew leaderboard.
You can absolutely play it solo, but you can also create or join a crew and compare daily results with friends. I wanted it to feel less like “post your score and forget it” and more like an ongoing mini rivalry around the daily puzzle.
A few quick things:
• free
• browser-based
• mobile-friendly
• one daily puzzle
• optional crew competition
Would love honest feedback on:
• whether the clue system feels intuitive
• whether the puzzle feels satisfying to solve
• whether the crew leaderboard actually adds something meaningful

If you try it, I’d really love to hear your first impression.
