Good morning everyone!
Looking to order my first pair of selvedge denim and landed on N&F! Since I'm new to the world of selvedge, I have a question about hemming. I measured my three favorite pants, took the average, and compared the measurements to their fitting guide and found the perfect fit and size (true guy size 34). However, the inseam length is rather long at 35.5" and am just curious if it's safe to hem them down to a 30" inseam or if I should leave an inch or 2 in the special request to be safe. As background, I'm 5'8 and about 180 lbs and normally wear size 33x30 in most mass produced jeans/pants so I'm wondering if I should hem these down to 30" which matches the inseam length on all 3 of my pants or if I should maybe go 31" or 32" to be safe. I do want to cuff these and plan on wearing these with most of my boots so a half break length would be nice I think but please let me know your thoughts here!
As the title suggests - please share some photos of your Giant Hornet Selvedge!
Here are mine! Tried to do my best with the photos but capturing the colour on these turned out to be tricky.
Got them pretty close to release, they arrived to me Dec 11 2025. These are easily some of, if not my very fastest fading fabric from N&F.
They are very comparable to the Dirty elephant 14s, both in the speed they fade and in the colour tones of the denim and even the stitching detailing in yellow. The selvedge ID are almost polar opposite though with the Giant Hornet using a unique indigo X yellow coloured selvedge id compared with the bright red on the elephants, it makes it a lot more understated in that regard in my opinion. They also have a really nice slubby (but not too crazy) fabric, also feels similar to the elephants in that regard too.
I haven't counted wears but it couldn't be more than 3-4 weeks of wear max (not continuous, but if you added them all up). They have also been washed a few times now, I want to say about 3 times. I was able to wear them quite a bit when I got them before it got too cold and I started favoring my heavier denim, and then once it warmed up again in the spring I started wearing them again.
I know the fades aren't that crazy or anything, but I am happy with the level they're at for how little they've seemed to be worn. Still lots of work to go, but off to a good start.
I imagine if anyone has been wearing theirs non-stop the fades must be pretty great by now.
Any updates on your personal chocolate milk pair? Fades?
Welp, since I'm a sucker for black denim and my old denim (seen here https://www.reddit.com/r/NakedAndFamousDenim/s/BJ9UtekGsA). My first pair were Easy Guy because I felt unsure of how my True Guy Indigo Selvedge felt a bit too wide at the leg opening. I've now changed my mind on that and find it's definitely the better fit for me. Anyways here's hoping for some sweet fades!
Found this the other day and love it but it's not my size and want to get another one but the tags are all unreadable. It's a heavier maybe 21oz? selvedge.
Same as the other pair I have for sale. Worn a handful of times, washed once. The tag got kinda mangled, but other than that they’re in really great condition and the pics don’t do the color justice. Hoping for like $200 USD but open to offers since I can’t find any of these for sale anywhere so I don’t know what to price them at lol.
Not entirely sure wth happened here other than maybe there some bleach somehow left over in the wash tub that some how didn't touch anything else. I guess these are getting relegated to beater pair.
Hey y’all, been looking for a pair of raw selvedge denim I can wear with my cowboy boots and the groovy guys seem to be the best “bootcut” option I can find. Problem is I’m not quite that groovy, and don’t want as much flare in the bottom. Would tailoring them to take off ~.5 inch at the leg opening work with this cut?
I emailed N&F a few days ago and haven’t heard back. There are a couple of people in the subreddit saying they have recalled these pants. Has anyone confirmed that they really do shrink significantly after one wash? Has anyone actually talked to a N&F employee saying they are doing this and what does the process look like. I find it strange they haven’t contacted anyone or made a post about the situation.
Had the pleasure of meeting brandon and Gigi from N&F me and my son have been wearing them for 8 and 2 years got to hold and touch the legendary 40oz jeans made me and my older sons week can’t wait to come to Montreal 🇨🇦 and check out the HQ someday and do a live stream 🤞🏾I’m wearing my elephant 13 that are 10 months in and my sons are the same only two months left to go for the Indigo invitational
I’m going to be in the general area of the Montreal store and I was thinking of going there but I was wondering if it was worth visiting
I missed this drop but absolutely love shin Godzilla/purple weft.
Anyone know why? It’s been completely removed, but still up on the NYC site. Dutil denim also has it removed from their website
Picked these up yesterday, first pair of really nice denim since I got in better shape and lost some weight.
Loving the texture and colour on these out the gate.
Posting to see the progress for whenever I do an update.
I ordered some cat Pyjama jeans and last night noticed this weird stitching. Not even sure if it’s worth contacting N&F about. Maybe this is normal but it seemed a bit odd, it’s right around the mid thigh area.
Not sure if they will fit but if not I’ll make something else with the fabric 🤷
Had a chance to get a video for yall of the goodwill super guys I found!
Hey folks!
I am continuing to overthink my Blood Brothers purchase and need some advice, please.
I have measured my favourite jeans, and they seem to be somewhere between the Easy Guy and Weird Guy. I like a lower front rise and a higher back rise, as well as some (but not too much) extra room in the thigh due to being a woman.
The pro of the weird guy is that it’s almost the same shape leg (yay!) the con is a lower back rise, which isn’t a deal breaker because I could stand to lose a little rise, but this is a lot of rise.
The pro of the Easy Guy is more back rise, the con is more front rise and a lot of extra leg. I tried on a 34 Easy Guy in natural indigo today, which is a bigger cut, but it also looked very bad.
If it helps, here are the measurement comparisons and what I look like in my favourite jeans.
Thank you for your help!
Do we think the BBs are going to sell out quick? Wanting a True or Strong Guy 😮💨
