Recently adopted this boy as the name “Garfield” but he doesn’t respond to it at all and it’s kinda basic. Any other name suggestions? I don’t want basic, I’m thinking maybe “Fat Bastard” from Austin Powers but I also don’t know just in case my little siblings come over lol. As long as it’s nothing too long or basic I’m open to hearing suggestions!
Picking up my female red sable dachshund puppy on Thursday afternoon!
I have a few classic names I like but was looking for ideas too.
The names in use for current pets are: Annie, Jasper Perry, Ember and Q. There isn’t a theme.
Names I have in mind but haven’t settled on are: Penny, Grace, Dottie and Ruby.
Penny and Ruby seem over used for this colour of dachshund though, so am very open to suggestions.
Don’t want to call her any type of food or food adjacent name.

These are my foster babies! We've decided on Alice for the girl (top right) and we want a name that sounds good along side it for the boy.
I like human names. Nothing cheesy or silly.
Unrelated but interesting, Alice has a missing leg and only half a tail! They appear to have been chewed off possibly by mom. She is a strong sassy girl! Brother is more low key and chill.
Originally we were gonna name him "Fladdertje" (dutch, basically a cute version of "Flutter") after a bat role my sister had in a musical, but I really want a name with lots of nickname options so I'm a little unsure
