Griddle Flattop Insert

Hi all. Just got my Prestige Pro 500 and in the past with my Weber used a small lodge cast iron griddle for smash burgers etc. I want to step it up a bit with my new Napoleon and would like an option that offers more surface area so I can smash more. Anyone buy an after market on the grill or insert that covers the entire area? Also looking at steel or cast iron options. Thanks in advance for your help and opinions!

Delivery delays?

I ordered a Napoleon Prestige Pro 665 Elite / Connected model through a dealer over a month ago and am trying to get a sense of whether the lead time I’m seeing is normal right now.

Originally the website said ships in 2 days. Then I was told the dealer was about two weeks out from receiving the grill. Then it was pushed another couple weeks due to a distributor delay. More recently, I was told the distributor had accidentally given an ETA for a different order, and that my grill is now expected closer to mid-June — roughly six weeks later than the original expected timing, and over 2 months post purchase.

The dealer says Napoleon/distributor availability is the bottleneck and that there are a lot of backorders for this particular grill.

For anyone who recently ordered one of the newer Connected / Prestige Pro or Elite models: what was your actual lead time from order to shipment or delivery? Are these delays common right now, or does this sound unusual?

I need purchase advice between 625 and 525-PRO

I'm looking to upgrade my rusted out 10 year old Propane Kitchenaid BBQ. We are only a family of 2 adults and 1 toddler. We very rarely host people and don't really need crazy capacity. Our current BBQ is a 3 burner and it has served us fine. I want to upgrade to a natural gas Napoleon since our house has a NG hookup and I'm tired of dealing with propane tanks.

I have narrowed it down to two models the Rogue 625 and Rogue 525-PRO. Both have the cast iron grills and the infrared side burner. The 625 from Costco is $10 cheaper than the 525-PRO currently on sale at Canadian tire and it comes with a cover and a griddle both of which are not included with the 525-PRO. The only difference that I can see is that the 525-PRO has light up buttons and is black instead of stainless steel 2 things that I am indifferent about.

I have the physical space for both units. My concern is really if I making a mistake by choosing the bigger unit if I don't need the capacity. Is there a performance loss if I buy a bigger unit but only use a few of the burners or do I absolutely need to run all 5 burners at once? Is there anything that would make me regret buying the more affordable bigger unit over the smaller model? I sorta feel like paying more for the smaller unit and having to pay a couple extra hundred bucks to add a griddle and a cover is illogical.

Thanks for the advice.

TLDR: Do I buy 625 with cover and griddle for $1299 (cad) or 525-PRO no cover or griddle $1309 (Cad). I don't need capacity, 4 burners is already more than enough but the price is better for more toys. Argh. Wife says get smol I say go big.

Just my F. Luck, damaged in transport

Just bought a brand new Napoleon rogue 625 from Costco. I'm partly into assembling it and I just discovered major scratching inside the barbecue. Tried calling Napoleon and they have over an hour wait time. Luckily for me I bought it from Costco, so guess who's being returned this weekend!

Are we dealing with the same Napoleon Grill company?...The one I got sucks

I got a wrong grill in natural gas instead of propane and they made the error. When I call, their phone response takes 48 hours and when I submit for a callback like they suggest, they call from a "Whatsapp" number that doesn't really ring and I see the voicemail later. If I call back, it's the same runaround. They also have a chat that directs you to a warranty page that cannot be confirmed or tracked for replacement orders. What is the point of this company? They don't even have an Email contact.

The strangest thing is that I received a natural gas portable grill instead of propane. What is even the purpose of making a "portable" natural gas grill? Are there natural gas connections in the woods or on the beach? When I asked the chat person, they say "Some people live in condos with natural gas and they don't allow propane tanks on a balcony"...like what natural gas connection is there on condo balconies?

I think Napoleon is the best ad for Weber grills.

How long to preheat Phantom 500 with cast SS grates?

New Prestige Phantom owner here. So far I have mixed feelings about the cast SS grates with extremely uneven heating front to back. Chicken completely chars at the back, and barely has any grill marks at the front. So I have a few questions.

  1. How long should you preheat for the cast stainless grates
  2. should I preheat at full flame strength, if I want to cook at around 350 F? So far I have been preheating and cooking at mid flame
  3. Do you use the sizzle zone with the grates at higher level or lower level. Using the higher level, the sizzle zone has much lighter grill marks than the back side on the main grill area

Napoleon Rebel 3

Moved into my first house and was gifted a Rebel 3, unfortunately it’s the natural gas version of the grill, has anybody converted it to propane with a simple hose? Any tips are appreciated!

What are the pros and cons of black vs Stainless Steel

I was struggling to find a 425 with SS grids, but thanks to group members in another post, I found two at ABT. One is in SS and includes the sizzle side burner for $1061. The other is black with no side burner for $900.

Don't know if I'd use the side burner but concerned the black will look shabby after a year or so.

What have peoples experiences with black been?

Sizzle zone worth it?

I'm planning on getting a 3 or 4 burner Freestyle grill for my balcony.

Initially I've considered getting a sizzle zone infrared side burner as a must, since I will be mostly cooking dinner just for me and my wife, and heating the entire grill for that would be a waste. So I thought I'd use that for small dinners, and the actual grill for bbq events where we invite guests over.

But after seeing a bunch of videos, it seems like steaks done over the sizzle zone don't look all that nice, plus it seems like it's gonna be spraying droplets of grease and juices all around the vicinity of the grill, something which I would very much like to avoid.

The balcony ain't that large and spreading all that mess on the floor and then tracking it inside the house would really suck.

Looking for any feedback from people with experience. Should I just forget about the sizzle zone and get a regular side burner or none at all?

Napoleon Phantom Rogue PRO-S 425 vs Napoleon Freestyle PRO 425 Phantom

Hi, I am currently trying to figure out which napoleon grill is a better fit for me and whether it makes sense to pay about 500 euro more for the rogue

The freestyle is selling for 900 euros, while the rogue is going for 1,400.

Do you have a clear opinion on that. I see that the freestyle has 4 zones, while the rogue 'only' has 3. Is that something to consider?

I would like to grill directly and indirectly. I have a small Monolith kamado for smoking and longjobs. I would definitely like to buy a plancha. Not whether I would need a rotisserie :)

Thank you!

Next best grill

I was looking at the 425 PRO but I'm not a fan of cast iron grates and I don't have the space (condo) to go bigger. So, what's the next best grill to a Napoleon with 3 burners and SS grates?

Prestige pro elite 665

My first cook last night was beef and chicken kebabs. Ordered the rotisserie basket and rotisserie skewer accessories last night.

Love it so far. Thing was so freaking heavy to carry to backyard. Required four grown men!

Replaced a 19 year old Weber genesis which finally rusted out with a hole in the firebox. Figured 19 years was long enough!

P.S. Dethatched and slit seeded a week ago so my lawn looks absolutely horrible. 🤮

Napoleon Prestige 500 Connect

>!English!<

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for your advice as a community:

Do you also experience such extremely uneven heat distribution with your grill? It's quite hot at the back of the grill grate, while the heat is so poor at the front that I can't achieve consistent results, either at the same time or visually. This is particularly noticeable with sausages, as it's most obvious visually. Even the griddle doesn't reach the desired temperature and is hotter at the back than at the front. It's all quite strange. Do you perhaps have a solution for this? Unfortunately, it takes forever to get answers or responses from Napoleon, and for €2000, I find the grill quite disappointing so far.

Thinking about getting a new grill soon, usually only cooking for three but could be more sometimes.

I don’t bbq everyday but like to in the summer. I usually prefer buy once cry once quality. Wondering about 3-4 burner freestyle versus 3 burner higher quality pro rogue?

Is three burner plenty or would you recommend always going 4 burner?

Having a hard time deciding if the quality jump to pro is worth it. Reading reviews some people like freestyle and others make it sound pretty cheap and crappy.

New to BBQ – Napoleon 285X vs PRO285.

Hi, I’m new to BBQ and confused between these grills:

Napoleon TravelQ 285X (with stand/cart)
Napoleon PRO285 (with stand)
Napoleon PRO285 (without stand)

Mostly for me, sometimes friends. Looking for something beginner-friendly, portable, easy to clean, and cost-efficient.
Which one would you suggest?

New grill or new parts?

I have an 18 year old Prestige 2 450, built in, propane. Needs new sear plates, but they're $250-$350 to replace! Are new models better (igniting, cooking, cleaning)? Or are there cheaper 15.125" sear plates?

What am i doing wrong?

first ever gas grill user here (Prestige 500 connect) and did my first burn-off today. the problem i am facing is:

i can light the 2 far right burners without a problem (the flamethrower shows and they light up), but i can’t get the 2 on the left on.

the only way it seems to me to light them is by:

1: turn on the 2 on the right first, after that i can press and release gas on the 2 on the left, go to the ”click” hold it, and it Will ignite because the others are on (flamethrower will even show on the left burners)

2: press and release gas, click and use a hand lighter.

why can’t i light the left one first?

assume it’s me, but it frustrates me that i can light 2, but having problems with the other 2?

having no issues with the back and side burners

gas regulator was pre-installed by Napoleon

Upkeep and Cleaning

Hi everyone, writing from Chicago. It’s finally warm enough to officially start cooling outdoors. The weather has been on and off up until this point but I’m hopeful we’ve seen the last of closer temps.

Curious how you clean and upkeep the outside of your grills? I’ve got a Prestige Phantom and we’ve done some construction out here so the outside is looking quite rough.

Anything you favor? Anything to stay away from?

Appreciate any insights you can share.
