Temp gauge prestige 500

Possibly a silly question. But I’ve never had such a tough time reading a gauge. Is this reading just past 300, 350, or 400. Usually there is a clear bold line indicating the 100’s but the numbers are written in between the bold lines.

Phantom Rogue 425

We recently bought a Phantom Rogue 425 RSIB grill.it came with the multipurpose warming rack instead of the wire rack.

My grandson wanted to grill for us while he's here, and grilled some pineapple slices covered in BBQ sauce on the rack. I'm unable to get the residue off the rack.

Next attempt will be to soak it in a sink full of hot, soapy water, but trying to wash it accomplished nothing.

Any suggestions?

So can I fix it?

Love my grill. However during the winter (I used it full year) it got really hot at one point and created the darker stainless steel “scorch areas”

Asking - can I fix this?

Connecting my Griddle to my House Gas Supply Line (Help)

Hi, I bought a Napoleon Freestyle 36" Griddle: https://www.napoleon.com/en/ca/barbecues/products/griddles/freestyle-griddles/freestyle-36-inch-griddle-f36ftnmk

Can't seem to get their (maybe imaginary) support team on the phone after a couple weeks of calling and either being on hold for 2 hours and getting hung up on or the callback never coming in.

Basically, the BBQ came with a quick-disconnect adapter that the male end of the BBQ hose connects to. The other end of the adapter is also female and is presumably supposed to connect to my house's gas supply line. Unfortunately that supply line also has a female connector.

The house's connector has 3/4" on the side and I am assuming that is the size of whatever I am supposed to thread into it.

The BBQ hose and the quick-disconnect adapter don't seem to list a size of any kind, but the hose itself states 3/8".

Anyone know what I am supposed to do here?

I've attached pictures of each of these things.

Infrared zone cleaning - Prestige 500

Hi guys. Do you clean the corners of the infrared zone? I know it burns like the sun, but I can stop thinking how to clean the residuals that fall outside the ceramic plate.

Tips?

Napoleon Ambiance 500 vs Prestige 500: made in China, worth it?

I’m shopping for a new (natural gas) Napoleon grill and I’m stuck between models, so I’m hoping owners can weigh in. I'm based in Toronto, so the grill will be exposed to summer humidity and snowy winters.

I was shown the Napoleon Ambiance 500 (P500RSIBNCH3AMB) at Barbecues Galore (listing). The sales person says it’s basically a Prestige 500 with a similar warranty (e.g. lifetime on burners), but I noticed on the website that it is made in China (the Prestige is Canadian-built). It’s also $200–$300 cheaper and seems to include extra accessories like the rotisserie motor.

I’m also comparing against:

  • The regular Prestige 500 ($200–300 more).
  • Rogue Pro 425 (smaller, $300 cheaper, no rotisserie motor, also made in China; warranty only 15 years)
  • Prestige 500 Connected version (about $400–$500 more)
  • Prestige Pro 500 (about $1,000 more) – also seems to need power, probably too expensive for what it is.

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the differences between these models.

Questions:

  1. What’s the real difference between Ambiance vs Prestige 500: is it mostly bundle/variant stuff, or are there actual component changes? Is the Ambiance basically the previous year’s Prestige (i.e., last year’s model)?
  2. Any Ambiance owners: do you notice differences in build quality, flame performance, heat consistency, or long-term durability vs Prestige?
  3. Is “China-made” actually a concern here, or is it mostly about Napoleon’s QC/materials? (Would love owner reality checks vs what reps claim.)
  4. If you were buying in the ~$1,600–$2,400 range, would you pick Ambiance 500, Prestige 500 (or connected), or Rogue Pro 425; and why?

Thanks in advance, especially if you can share your specific model and what you’ve noticed after a season or two.

What temperature is this?

This is my first time grilling, and I apologize for the blatant ignorance. But does the 200F start from the larger dash where the grey starts? Or is 200 the middle of the grey zone?

Is this normal for the rear-burner?

My rear-burner doesnt burn blue anymore, the flames now are mostly yellow with a bit of blue at the bottom.

Can you use the bbq scrub daddy brush on cast iron grates? (Rogue)

You are required to dip the brush in water.

Per my napoleon’s manual:

Do not allow cold water (rain, sprinkler, hose etc.) to contact the heated grill. An immediate temperature change will chip the porcelain and crack the ceramic burners

Napoleon Grill - Infrared Side Burner

I bought a Napoleon Prestige 500 (P500RSIBPK-3) propane grill in April 2023. The porcelain cast iron grate on the infrared side burner rusted within 1-2 years and Napoleon has since discountinued that grate because of that defect. New P500's ship with a stainless steel grate (S83012) that in photos looks similar to the main stainsteel grates on my grill. The new higher end Napoleon grills (Phantom series) come with a cast stainless steel grate (S83038) that looks like my porcelain cast iron grate but it is stainless and will not rust.

I am wondering if any uses the stainless steel grate (S83012) and if so, how it performs. Also, if anyone has the higher end grate (S83038), how does it perform. Lastly, the distance from the centers of the holes on my infrared side burner at 11 inches apart. Is the same true for those using S83012 and S83038? I just want to be sure they will be comptible with my P500.

Thanks

Rogue 625 first impressions

Overall impressed. Build quality showed when assembling that's always a good first sign. But whoever designed the upper brackets to hang the doors, I hate you lol. Bit of a pain to get those screws in. Decided to do some simple and easy for the first use and went with indirect chicken thighs, bone+skin. Finished temp was 175 just as I prefer with just the right amount of light char, juicy, and Sweet Baby Ray's caramelized up well.

This goes for all grills, but in the photos you can see why having an ambient temp probe at grate level matters when you're doing indirect zones. Relying on a lid thermometer for that doesn't cut it. That's a big temp difference shown here

I've had a couple of people ask me why I took a pass on infrared. That's because Napoleon's IR burner is a pretty cool convenience gimmick (I mean that in a nice way) but when it comes to searing steaks, it's a bronze medalist with charcoal and cast iron taking gold and silver. I have a good CI insert for outdoor use when I'm not up to using charcoal. With today's cost of a prime ribeye, they're not getting the bronze medal treatment from me

Can this be restored/cleaned?

Recently sold my Napoleon travel proq285x. 3 reasons, I HATED to clean the porcelain coated cast iron grates, not enough power to sear as nice and propane. I’m looking for something a bit bigger, STAINLESS STEEL grates (easy to clean) and natural gas as my place has a hookup. Recently found a marketplace listing of this napoleon lex with IR burner. Used and in… ok state but veeery cheap. My question is, can it be restored with a deep clean?

Non flat scraper?

Got a 665 grill and found that I prefer to use the flat scraper and paper towel to wipe the curved stainless grill grates. But would rather have non flat scraper that hugs the grates. Want to avoid anything with bristles.

Cleaning Questions

  1. How do I clean the internal light covers/lenses?
  2. Can I power wash the grates?

I have the Prestige PRO 500 Built-in Natural Gas Grill (Model #BIPRO500RBNSS-2)

Where does this white wire go in the rogue?

I just bought the rogue pro 625 and the assembly instructions are confusing. Where does this white wire go? The instructions show 3 wires plugged in. Did this wire disconnect by itself?

Shocked at Napoleon warranty and customer service

My Jetfire igniter was stuck on. Pouring some *hot* water on the valve fixed it for the grilling session.

Emailed Napoleon about it and they sent me a whole new control panel in like 2 days no questions asked.

Yeah sure, it sucks the valve was busted to begin with, but wow.

Compare this with PC parts where they make you do an RMA jump through a bunch of hoops, tell you it's your fault, send you back your busted hardware and charge you shipping.

Please don't change, Napoleon. Sure it cost you some new parts and shipping but now you have a customer for life.

Napoleon cart 3 kettle charco

Just bought this monster.

Wow ! If you where on webbed before, be amazed. My first brisket on it.i took 2/3 of snake to do my brisket (the way i like it, pull brisket for taco, nachos). The temperature gauge is accurate the top and bottom air flow is really accurate. I don’t know own they did it but you can easily control air flow and temp. For smoking the top is pretty is easy to handle. A bit of smoke comming out of the ketle mostly from the rotisserie holes that are covered) . So if you do the math and you wanna buya webber + only fire extension… the Napoleon cart3 kettle as everything stock.. Even time for a cigar and cuba libre!

Happy bbq!

Pre-2025 prestige 500 picked up new for $1000. Should I cancel pick up and return it?

Found a great deal on what I thought was the newer 2025 proceeds 500 from a Lowe’s outlet out, the door price was $1000 because they priced it 50% off the $1900.

But after watching some videos I realize it’s actually a pre-2025 model has the older casters and smaller rear infrared.

I haven’t picked it up yet and kind of feel like I can just go get a used one for less money since it’s not the 2025.

I will know it was advertised as the newer 2025

Just curious to get your opinions.

Update 1:

It seems the consensus is I should just keep it since it’s still a great deal. I may try to go in and see if they’ll do another mark down on it. Only reason being it was advertised as the newer 2025 one and this store doesn’t like sitting on merchandise were too long because I get a ton of it they gotta cycle .

Update 2:

I picked it up and plan on keeping it thanks for the insight!
