NI is trying to tempt me to Update from Komplete 15 to 26 with "more affordable" pricing

NI is trying to tempt me to Update from Komplete 15 to 26 with "more affordable" pricing

I just received an email from NI that states the following:

"Your new update path to Komplete 26. If you already own Komplete 15, upgrading is now more affordable. We’ve introduced lower-priced update paths to Komplete 26 throughout the year, so you can stay current with the latest instruments, effects, and creative tools whenever you’re ready."

Logging into my NI account, the offer to upgrade from 15 Ultimate to 26 Ultimate is USD 319 (AUD 449).

Two observations:

  1. The wording makes me think the Summer of Sounds discount (usually 50% I think?) - isn't going to be as much this year. Perhaps even unavailable for 15-to-26 upgrades.

  2. There doesn't seem to be much in Komplete Ultimate 26 that makes upgrading worthwhile. At least, for the pop/rock music that I create.

Here's a screencap of what NI is promoting as new in 26 Ultimate.

https://preview.redd.it/8mv2kld2a72h1.jpg?width=832&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a79c93c03bb2e00427786a3d518d0958d183f67a

So my net of it is that this "more affordable" upgrade path is still too much for too little.

What are your thoughts on the value/lack being offering by NI, and the implications for the Summer of Sound discounts?

Now that the inMusic acquisition has ended NI's insolvency, is your NI / Kontakt-related purchasing pause over?

The uncertainty around Native Instruments' preliminary insolvency definitely caused a freeze on buying new sample libraries for a lot of creators. Now that they've been acquired by inMusic (along with iZotope, PA, and Brainworx), the dust seems to be settling.

Has this acquisition restored your confidence enough to start buying Kontakt libraries again? If they run the usual Summer of Sound sale, will you be upgrading Komplete? Or are you still holding out to see how inMusic handles things like the balance between perpetual licenses and subscription models?

Does Native Instruments respond to support requests on the website?

Hello! I bought a used Native Instruments Komplete license from Knobcloud.

I bought it on last week on Wednesday evening. Native instruments still hasn't responded to the seller about the transfer request. Is this normal practice?

First I got an auto response from an AI robot, which didn't help at all, then there's silence.

I sent my support ticket to Native instruments on Sunday about this issue, no response either.

How long have you had to wait for Native instruments support to respond? Is it always this bad?

How are you doing with support communication now?
Does Native Instruments respond to support requests on the website? Is there another communication channel that can be used?

Unable to install updates

So in Native Access when I try to update my installs I get this message, in the knowledge base link it talks about which folders to set for installers etc. I have them set to where they have always been installed which is within the NI guidelines. Am I missing something?

Warranty Replacement

Quick question for anyone who has had to send their Kobtrol S series keyboard in for warranty replacement/repair. How long does that process usually last?

I imagine their running very thin organizationally right now - especially in non revenue generating departments like Warranty repair... But the lack of communication is maddening.

I got a B stock unit from Reverb NI store as a gift from my work and had it for all of 2 days before noticing an issue (3 specific keys just did not work).

Reached out with issue April 22. Finally they Opened a ticket April 29, and i shipped the unit on April 30th and they received it May 4th.

I emailed them to see if they'd received it and they said yes, sending you a replacement tomorrow and you will receive an email with shipping details... That was May 11. I emailed on May 14 advising I hadn't seen anything. Today is May 18 and no response.... No keyboard.

I'm new to NI, and fell in love with the VST catalog, the Maschine mk3 and for the two days I had it... LOVE the S49 mk3. Just frustrated I guess and needed to vent/ask the group if this is par for the course.

MPC 3 still in beta 2+ years on.

You’d think Akai would spend money on quality programmers to finish the software they promised years ago rather than spending millions buying competitors up. What is the story?
Hell why not let an AI fix it.

It’s beyond a joke.

An old school user, I bought my fourth MPC device, an MPC Live 2, two and a half years ago right when they released the beta. I think I was caught up in the hype and promises of its release.

Arrange page in Mpc3 and controller mode as a vst plugin are essential.
I have made all my tracks in Os3+
waiting for the software to be released . Years on I’m still waiting. Did I miss an official announcement where they said it wasn’t happening or something?

I wasted many hours in the beta program thinking I was helping to get the release out. But it seems in reality they never intended to release it but used my time for future products.

Clearly it works and is possible. But they’d rather screw over long term users.

Disingenuous liars. Possibly libellous.

Anyone else in the same bucket? Looks like they have moved on after bullshitting us all for so long.

Unable to transfer licence. Customer support is non existent

Few months back I submitted a request to transfer my Traktor pro licences, received an email with the serials however no transfer licence ID. Now the products don’t show in my account or under my transfers.
I have submitted tickets with customer support over the last week but are just set back generic AI replies that don’t help at all, then when I reply to the email I never get a response.

How the hell do we get in contact with an actual person? I’ve never experienced customer support this bad from a company.

Beginner Grunge Mix/Master Feedback Needed – I Remain

Hey everyone,
I’d appreciate some honest technical feedback on my grunge track I Remain.
I mixed/mastered it in Cubase with a Steinberg UR22C and aimed for a raw, emotional sound — not overly polished.

Main things I’d like feedback on:

  • Instrument/VST drum balance
  • Vocal placement & pronunciation
  • Overall punch and master quality

Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQEdfMMa1aw

Thanks a lot to anyone who takes the time to listen.

r/breakcore x Native Instruments - Beat Challenge (18 and over)

Greetings Producers of this here sub!

I am very stoked to announce this Beat Challenge, r/breakcore was reached out to in February to plan this online Event and now the day is finally here.

Whether you are familiar with Native Instrument products or not, Native Instruments have been a strong pillar in all sorts of producer communities since 1996 with products like-

Reaktor used by artists such as Venetian Snares, Richard Devine, The Flashbulb aka Benn Jordan and more outside the genre including Merzbow, Squarepusher and more.

Along with Reaktor, products like

Absynth allowed for sound designers to make sequences that producers could dream up into a reality, the gold standard for FM virtual synthesis.

Products like

Traktor allowed for producers to mix their own song live.

and with one of the most iconic VSTI back in the day

Massive took over multiple scenes at once with genres like  Drum n Bass, Dubstep, House music, Trap and pretty much every EDM genre you can think of.

but one of their most iconic products is Kontakt and Battery perfecting the concept of a sampler library and sampler.

Their legacy doesn’t stop with just virtual synths, you have iconic FX plugins like Guitar Rig Pro 7, which not only caters to Rocker Foos, but is a great plugin for distorting 909 kicks to make some Gnarly Gabber kicks.

you got lush reverbs you can make with Raum, these are just some of my personal favorite products that i utilize from Native instruments as i have personally been a long time supporter of Native Instruments products since Komplete 13.

Why I’m Sticking with Maschine Over Everything Else I Tried

After trying just about every workflow out there over the past couple years, I finally realized Maschine + Komplete is still the setup that inspires me the most creatively.

I recently went deep into other standalone/groovebox ecosystems and while some of them had cool ideas, I kept coming back to Maschine MK3 and honestly… nothing sounds as polished and musical to me as Native Instruments instruments and expansions.

Komplete 26 is absolutely insane. The amount of synths, sounds, textures, drums, keys, basses, cinematic stuff, and expansions is on another level. Between Massive X, Monark, Kontakt libraries, Playbox, Battery, Reaktor, and all the expansions, I honestly feel like I could make music for the next 10 years and still not run out of inspiration.

What really hit me was the SOUND. NI stuff just sounds modern, polished, wide, and mix-ready to my ears. I was comparing workflows and realized I was spending more time tweaking gear and less time actually making music outside the NI ecosystem.

Also, once I simplified my setup and removed extra overlapping gear, Maschine started making way more sense again. The workflow finally clicked for me in a deeper way.

Maschine + Komplete just feels like home creatively for me.

Curious if anyone else here tried other ecosystems and eventually came back to Native Instruments?

Help obtaining an older/legacy version of Komplete 5 or Akoustik Piano

I've been trying to source an older version of Komplete that has the Akoustik Piano library, unless there is some way to source that library specifically. I've been wanting to mainly make some more Minecraft music that is true to the source material by actually using the source material haha.

I know it's very hard to get a working or non activated license for anything that's like pre-2015 at this point, so I'm writing on here as a semi last ditch effort.

I know Komplete 5 has Akoustik Piano included, so I've been trying to find people willing to point me in the right direction that doesn't involve piracy!

Thank you in advance to those who read/respond!

Will NI Customer Support Improve After In Music Purchasing the Company?

Like many others, I have been struggling for months going back and forth with Native Instruments customer support—or honestly, the lack thereof.
My Komplete Kontrol S61 MK3 has never worked since the day I got it. I’ll spare you the full excruciating details, but I have tried multiple new cables, multiple different computers, and every troubleshooting step possible. At this point, it is clearly faulty hardware.
After originally agreeing to take the hardware back, cover shipping, and potentially send me a refurbished replacement unit, Native Instruments has since gone back on its word and stopped replying. In their last message a few weeks ago, they told me that I would now have to pay for shipping and possibly repair costs myself. Since then, after I sent them a screenshot of their previous email showing what was originally promised, I have received no response at all.
What makes this even more frustrating is that, despite all of this, I still keep investing money into this company because when your products work, they’re amazing. I recently bought Komplete 16 Collector’s Edition, and honestly I hate myself for continuing to do it while dealing with this mess.
I just want to make music. That’s it. For spending nearly $1,000 on a MIDI controller, I would expect it to at least be able to play one note. That should not be too much to ask.
I truly hope this new direction the company is taking leads to better customer support and better accountability, because right now this experience has been beyond frustrating.

Unfortunate timing on voucher activation.

Three weeks ago I got myself Akai MPK IV mini.

I was super excited after learning that it comes with a voucher for Komplete Select. After choosing my bundle I rushed to have some fun with creating music.

Was a bit bummed that the bundle from Akai didn't come with Cloud Supply but whatever, you can't have everything, and I was already happy with all the plugins I've got already.

After reading about inMusic acquiring Native Instruments and new Kontrol 26 release I checked the site to see what's new.

Hey, guess what is now included in the Komplete Select Beats. Yup, Cloud Supply, and many more new Massive X expansions.

Any idea why they didn't update people's libraries with the new additions?

Is there anything that I can do besides saving money and getting Komplete 26 Standard? :/

I'm sick of Native Instruments holding my projects hostage

Even when I don't update my computer, every few weeks, my libraries decide to take a vacation.

I'm done with Native Instrument's bullshit. In my three years of using East Wests Composer cloud, even though it is a subscription, I have never had more than the occasional library disconnect on me.

Even third party Kontakt stuff does not fail nearly as often.

u/Ripplescales — 11 days ago

Missing serial

I bought Kontakt six cross grade back in 2022. Last night I upgraded to kontakt 8 for 100 bucks. I did this so I could play a third-party instrument that requires the Kontakt full version. Kontakt 8 isn’t showing up in my native instruments app. I see the option to add a product with a number, but I can’t find it. It doesn’t show up on the website either. not even if I try to transfer the license it doesn’t show up.
