Question on Walmart classification and comparison w/ MBNA WEMC

Hi everyone! I’m a newbee here and comparing Neo WEMC with MBNA WEMC and hard to make a decision. MBNA has 10% return on annual points but it lacks rebates on gas stations. Neo has more rebate categories but a higher annual fee. Is Neo still categorizing Walmart supercenter as grocery? I’m confused as I saw in previous discussions that walmart was removed from grocery rebates. Thanks everyone in advance!

Future Travel Credit card

I know Neo recently partnered up with United airlines to bring in the first Canadian United airlines credit card. I want to know for anyone that works for Neo if there’s any future plans to partnering up with other airlines? I would love to see one with American Airlines, since Neo already has United and Cathay Pacific.

Neo credit rewards boost question

I currently have the basic Neo Mastercard. I have enough for rewards boost. If I upgrade my card to the world Mastercard version, do I still get rewards boost, and if so would it still be to 3%?

Screenshot are my current rewards rates. Screenshot 2 is the world master benefits.

Wrong interest rate on the app?

I understand that the current maximum interest rate is 2.75%, but why does the app shows 2.8% interest rate?

Am I missing something or are they just rounding up the number?

If they are rounding up, that’s so weird!

Stuck in an "escalation" loop for 3 weeks while Neo fails to protect me from a predatory merchant charge

Hey everyone, I’m posting here out of sheer frustration because I’ve been dealing with Neo support for three weeks now regarding a major dispute, and all I get is the classic "it has been escalated" line with absolutely no updates. I feel completely unprotected, and there is a ticking clock on my account.

On June 5, 2026, my husband and I signed a vacation club membership while traveling in Mexico and a down payment of $2,288.17 CAD was charged to my Neo card. Just three days later, on June 8, we sent a formal cancellation email. Under Mexican Federal Consumer Protection Law (PROFECO Article 56), consumers have an absolute, statutory 5-business-day cooling-off period to cancel these types of contracts for a full refund.

The merchant's cancellation handler explicitly acknowledged in writing that we canceled within the legal 5-day window. But instead of processing the refund, the merchant has completely ghosted us and stopped replying to emails. They are acting in total bad faith, using illegal contract clauses to pretend we "waived" our rights.

Because the merchant refused to cooperate, I opened a chargeback dispute with Neo three weeks ago (Ticket #21547461795304). Since then, I have provided full documentation of my timely cancellation. Yet, every single time I check in, front-line support just tells me it's "escalated" to a specialist and gives me no actual info.

To make matters worse, the merchant’s financing arm (VCM Capital) just emailed me stating they are going to automatically charge my card $415.96 USD on July 5, 2026 for this legally voided contract. When I panicked and contacted Neo support, they told me they cannot place a hard merchant block and cannot stop a pre-authorized recurring charge even if my card is frozen. They told me I have to resolve it with the merchant—the same merchant that has been ignoring me for three weeks. 🥲

I have already permanently replaced my card number to try and break the billing link, but I am incredibly stressed. I just don't know what to do anymore.. 🙁

Why did my physical card stop working?

My physical card just randomly stopped working. My digital one works just fine. I’d order a new one, but I don’t want my credit card number to change

Big difference in credit limits offered across credit card portfolio

This is more of a curiosity question than anything. When I applied for my credit card there was some big differences in limits offered. On the base and world cards I was offered 6k on the world elite I was offered $4500 which I took. I have over 100k in available credit across all my cards and lines of credit so the utilization isn't an issue.

On the United and Cathay cards though I was offered a 20k limit. Does Neo do this to try to entice people onto those cards? I could see the United card being useful to a few people but that Cathay card is so niche that unless you live in Toronto or Vancouver and frequently travel to Hong Kong what use is anyone going to have for it?

Edit - I'm dumb and got delta and united mixed up

Is this cheating: Having a secret bank account or credit card?

Have you ever maintained a secret bank account or credit card that your partner did not know about?

That's a question from the survey I'm working on with The Get and MooseMoney.

Full disclosure: I have and do. For us, it’s not “cheating” but I know couples who see it that way. For example, using the money for things that partner wouldn’t approve of, like gambling, buying alcohol, certain lunch spots, shopping sprees, etc.

Neo stiffed me 5000 miles - United Airlines card

Long story short, anyone signing up for United Airlines card make sure to check your miles balance.

I got short changed 5000 miles. I am owed 5000 miles for being on waitlist, 5000 for first transaction and 15000 for charging $3000 on the card.

Only got 5000+ 5000 and then the just duplicated the same amount again on the transaction resulting in total 20000 miles.

The customer support has been almost as bad as this experience.

Unjustified Credit restriction

So Neo just arbitrarily decided to restrict my world elite card "out of concern for my credit rating".

$2800/3500 used, couple more payments to come off card before my next payday on July 2, which I expect to be close to $6k. Yes I make nearly 12k a month, however I loose about 4-5k on business overhead.

After a few hard months having had to move into a bigger place so my son could live with me full time, paying rent in both places for a month while I moved because moving is impossible to make happen in one day when I work 55 hours a week plus furniture for my son and to accomodate a bigger place, left me a bit tapped out.

This pay in 1 week I was going to get the Neo card paid down to $0. Finally thought I'd have caught up.

Instead I'll have NSF fees, and have to burn through saved points for fuel, because of this nonsense. I have never missed a payment, never been late for a payment. Always kept my Neo account in good standing.

Neo, you've lost a customer. You burned this bridge. Good bye, and I will be discouraging anyone I can from ever considering you.

Anyone have recommendations for a card company that won't screw someone over like this?

DO NOT wait to cancel Neo Cards

Absolutely crooks, I usually wait for the full year to cancel any credit card and both Canada and US banks ALWAYS cancel the new annual fee along with the card. Neo Refuses to cancel the fee and is forcing me to pay for the fee before I can cancel the account. Just a warning for those who wait to cancel.

Pushy sales tactic at WEM

I know the sales people get bonus on adding a customer, but the Neo sales tactic is not ok!

Went to WEM in Edmonton on Saturday. I was walking and crossing the Neo Financial tent. A middle aged lady from Neo had cloth bags with Neo logo and called me saying it’s free. I walked a couple of steps and then she walked towards me giving the bag but she also held it. She then asked me to scan the QR code on her lanyard. I took a photo and said I will check out later as I was with family. She said scan the code and enter your details. I was like I don’t want to sign up as I don’t know anything and I have to leave soon. She was like it takes only two minutes. I said sorry… she had a disappointed look. I left the bag and walked away.

I’m not against sales, but don’t tease or do gimmicks, try to explain the product or try pitching. I honestly don’t know much about Neo, and after that experience I don’t want to know about Neo. Thanks!
