I’ve been working with StinkySocks Hockey on potentially bringing their No Commitment Hockey format to New Jersey, and we’re at the point where we need to get a better idea of how many players would actually participate before they can commit to recurring ice.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with StinkySocks, the No Commitment games are organized adult hockey games where you register game-by-game instead of joining a team and paying for a full season. They handle the rosters, skill balancing and goalie coverage, so you can play when it works for your schedule without committing to an entire league season.

We’ve been talking with a number of rinks in North and Central Jersey and there are some realistic possibilities, particularly around the Old Bridge / East Brunswick area, along with some options farther north.

I put together a short interest form to see where people would actually play, what start times work, how often they’d realistically attend and what they’d be comfortable paying per game:

This isn’t registration for a game and nobody is being charged anything. It’s really just to figure out whether there’s enough dependable interest for StinkySocks to take the next step and secure weekly ice.

Both skaters and goalies are encouraged to fill it out.

If you already filled out the previous North Jersey version of the form, you don’t need to do it again. Your response is already included — we’ve just expanded the rink search into Central Jersey as well.

And if you know anyone else who plays adult hockey in NJ, feel free to send it their way.

I have always had a few different designs / artwork wanted to put on some T-Shirts -- especially ones that have to do with New Jersey life / lore. They were sold at $30 each. The owners of the shop were incredibly generous and did not even take a cut of the ones they sold. It was by no means a way to make money, obviously, but did love that people were interested enough to purchase and wear them!

Would be grateful for any suggestions / opinions / comments.

And I am in the midst of making my New Jersey Devil drawing into a t-shirt design that I would consider putting into this series...
