Tulle Bridal Outlet

I have absolutely no affiliation with them, but I feel compelled to share how awesome my experience was at the Tulle Bridal Outlet in North Andover, MA a couple days ago!! I walked away with a Vera Wang gown that retails for $9,000 for only $2,800. My jaw on the ground when she told me the retail price. My stylist was fabulous - she really nailed my style. They have a “vintage vault” if you’re like me and don’t love a lot of the modern styles. They have an extra 30% off sale starting the 11th. Highly recommend looking for a gown here!!

Cinematic/documentary photographer

I’m looking for an engagement photographer (and potential wedding if right photographer) that shoots in a cinematic/ documentary style. The engagement shoot would be outside in a woodsy setting. We live in Portsmouth NH but can travel to the right location.

NH Engagement Photographer

Hello all,

I am looking for an engagement photographer suggestions!

We are hikers, and would love some mountain/waterfall background engagement photos.

We have never had professional photos done, and I have lost almost 100lbs. I fear my body dysmorphia may hinder this experience for me. I would love someone who could guide us through posing (not sure if this is already something that happens lol).

Thank you in advance! I do appreciate the help. :)

Looking for makeup artist for 9/2027 wedding

Hello! I am getting married on 9/3/2027! I am looking for a makeup artist who could accommodate 9 bridesmaids/mother of the bride and groom, and myself (so 10 ppl total)

I am looking to stay around 200 for bridal makeup, and 150 for the bridal party makeup. I love a good soft glam since I don’t wear much makeup and still want to look like myself but still get enough where I look good lol.

If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to anything!!

Thank you in advance!

Edit: in Rhode Island btw

Small wedding venues/ideas for 2027 fall

We are planning for a simple small wedding (less than 60 people). We do not need a big party, even dancing... What are some options that are 5K or under? I have no idea bc I am not from the US originally. My fiancee is American, I want to do something that is more intimate, warm and not too loud. We are both 35+ and all we want is to have a small lunch/dinner. We might go to Europe for photos and actual fun part.

Looking for Boston local shops to try on and purchase a bridal jumpsuit in person

Hello all!

I’m getting married next year and I’m looking for a place where I can get as close to the traditional wedding dress shopping experience as possible, except I’m looking to buy a jumpsuit instead. I understand jumpsuits aren’t as common to purchase, so it will likely not be the same experience that you see on something like Say Yes to the Dress lol. That said, I would like to take my mom and Matron of Honor along, and not have to hop from place to place as much as possible.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about non-traditional bridal outfits and such, but none of them seem to provide the solution I’m looking for. Most places focus on dresses with jumpsuits as an afterthought, so there’s only like 5-6 jumpsuit options per place. I know I can shop online, but it kind of takes away from the experience I’m hoping for with my loved ones.

As for a buy online, try-on at home, and return what I don’t want situation, I live with my fiancé in a small apartment and my loved ones are from out of state, so that complicates things. I’d have to try on in my home, which isn’t really spacious enough for the experience with others involved, I don’t want my fiancé to see any of the jumpsuits I’d try on.

Any solutions, places, or suggestions I haven’t thought of? I’m willing to travel outside of the Boston area as I do have a car! Thank you so much in advance!

Wedding Dress Store Recommendations - Higher End

Hi there. I am seeking recommendations for higher end wedding dress shops in Boston.

My fiancé seems very stressed and anxious about finding a wedding dress for our July 2027 wedding in Boston. It will be a black tie wedding in Boston, so formal long dresses required (although not sure if that matters for bridge -- I am just trying to give some context).

She is quite picky, and likes higher end things. I do not think she likes traditional wedding dresses, looking like a princess, or a lot of poof. I think she wants something simple, but perhaps with some lace? I am not sure, as being the groom I am not made apprised of a lot of the dress details.

Point is, she went to Lelite and was very, VERY disappointed. Hated it. This is not to disparage the store, but to give you a sense of what she is looking for, standards, pickiness, etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations? She seems very stressed and I want to help her out with this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hartford, CT Hotels

For anyone who has either hosted or attended a wedding in Hartford, do you have any recommendations for hotels? We are not from the area but are in the process of selecting a hotel for a room block.

I’ve looked at Avon Old Farms, but I’m curious if it’s been renovated lately. My other options include hotels downtown, but I’m unfamiliar if it gets too crowded.

Any tips/advice welcome!

EDIT: Our venue will be Pond House Cafe in August 2027

Wedding Dress Stress

Hi all! Wedding is mostly planned but I am getting overwhelmed about dress shopping (so many options, no prices shown, etc). I’m local to Boston - I live in coastal NH and am willing to drive as far as Portland, ME or Boston. I have a budget of $5k and have two questions.

  1. Would a bridal stylist be worth it? I am not a fashionista by any means and predominately live makeup less and in tshirts and shorts with my hair out of the way. Looking online at options for dresses has quickly spiked my stress and started to take the fun out of this experience for me.

  2. This has been asked before but are there any bridal shops that you would suggest trying or suggest avoiding? I’m thinking I like an A line style and maybe lace? That’s about as far as I’ve gotten.

Thank you so much for your advice!

Outer cape wedding venues??

Hi!! Newly engaged and a few years out thinking 2028 maybe even 2029, September for sure.

Looking for somewhere in the outer cape (holds a special place in my heart) and on/overlooking the water. Im going back and forth between guest count and keeping it small at 50 or going up to 120, but leaning towards keeping it small.

I have looked at chequesset and love it but pricing seems steep for just the venue and having to get everything else on our own. Or it could be reasonable im still learning but we're from CT and i have people who have had their wedding with catering for $25k over 100 people, obviously the cape would be steeper in cost which is also why im leaning towards keeping it small. Their boathouse is cute but like also still $13k.

Wondering if there are any estates or other venues on the water you guys would recommend? or if anyone loved chequesset ill take all the recs. I have family helping but if i could do all inclusive for $25k then that would be sick, if im being unreasonable, call me out lmfaooo 😄 THANK YOU!!!

Summer camps in New England for wedding full weekend and lodging

Hi hi, so I’m researching as much as I can on my own about renting full summer camps to have a wedding weekend! I want a place on a lake that I can bring my own catering and drinks. I want to rent from a Thursday to Sunday. More like a huge party weekend with friends and family and not a formal wedding. Like a quick ceremony but mostly play games, trivia, camp fires, swimming, tie dye ETC.. and dancing music and FOOD like food trucks to rent. Also looking for lodging on site, more campy than formal!! Also needs to be handicap accessible! Thanks in advance for any and all information!!!!! No more than 100 guests and only lodging 1/3 of the guests.

colorful/non-traditional wedding dress suggestions?

i'm interested in wearing a color other than white for my wedding, but unsure how to find something that still sets me apart from guests! anyone had success shopping for this either IRL or (ideally) in the greater Boston area? i would describe my style as a bit on the crunchy/boho side, i guess. i'm also open to a two-piece set or jumpsuit, or some white with flowers.

ETA: It doesn't necessarily have to be a "wedding gown" sold in a bridal shop or anything like that.

Vintage bridal store in NE that lets you make an appointment/try on dresses?

Hi! I’d really love a vintage wedding dress and to go to a store in person to try them on and have the bridal experience. I’ve been eyeing Shop Gossamer in Georgia but I was wondering if there’s anywhere local to NE? I know the Blessing Barn has a bridal selection in Mendon, MA but would love to hear of any other places.

Thank you!

Looking for wedding venue in the mountains - $25k all inclusive

I am planning to get married in October 2027 somewhere in the New England region, preferably northern New Hampshire but open to MA, VT, RI, and CT. We ideally want to be in the mountains, with either a barn, mansion/estate or castle vibe. I really love the whimsical, fairytale aesthetic and just want to be surrounded by nature. I'm hoping to find venues that have inclusive pricing, with everything (venue, food, tables/chairs/linens, DJ, etc.) coming out to $25k absolute tops. My fiance is a firefighter so bonus points if they offer a first responder discount.

Some examples of venues I really like: Gregoire Castle in Irasburg VT, Cobb Hill Estate in Harrisville NH, Wright's Mill Farm in Canterbury CT, Milliken Manor in Jaffrey NH, Public House on Page Hill in Tamworth NH. I really love Castle in the Clouds too but don’t love the interior.

I'm really open to anything similar to these even if it's not in the mountains or all inclusive. I feel like I have scoured the internet but am wondering if there's some lesser known places I'm missing. Just struggling to work with my smaller budget in this area!

Wedding drapery companies need to sit tf down and remember they’re just curtains.

Getting quotes for 6-7k to drape the side of a tent is driving me MAD. Those drapes cost like $30 a panel and have been reused for so many weddings. You’re just hanging curtains for crying out loud.

Ive priced it out and can do it all on my own for cheaper, but I can’t because my venue requires licenses for all vendors. These vendors are crazy greedy and it’s pissing me off.

YOU’RE JUST CURTAINS. ACT LIKE IT.

Misslewood Estate/October in Salem

Hi everyone,

I am considering Misslewood for an October 2027 wedding. I am from Florida and not familiar with the area, but have heard that it is crazy up there in Salem during Halloween (which is the closest town it looks like). I want a whole wedding weekend and I’m nervous for where guests will stay/ what they will do during downtime. Any thoughts appreciated!!

Elm Bank vs Gore Place vs Pierce House

I know there are notable differences between these (including in price) but we’re planning a traditional Jewish wedding for June or September 2027, and would love to hear your thoughts on these venues!! It would be especially helpful if anyone toured/considered multiple.

We would like an outdoor ceremony and likely prefer a tented reception, but are flexible on reception space. 150-200 guests, flexible budget but ideally ~70-75k. (If anyone went with any of these and is willing to share your budget breakdown, that would also be super helpful. I’m not sure if this budget is doable at Elm Bank.) TIA :)))
