Short Setup Windows

Hi fellow soon-to-be-weds! I'm looking at a venue that only gives us 2-2.5 hours to set up before the event. It's in a public park. I'm a bit of a decor girlie who wants a decent amount of florals and the like. Do people find that this would be a valid amount of time to get everything loaded in?

Also if there's anyone specifically with Eolia experience, your words would be VERY welcome.

HELP! Need wedding venues advice for fall 2027 under 45k

Hi all-

This is my first ever post in Reddit so bear with me!

My fiancée (30M) and myself (30F) are looking for a venue with food and open bar for under 45k with taxes for around 140 people! This does not include photography, flowers, DJ, makeup, hair etc. I feel so blessed with the amount I’m able to spend but feel at a loss.

I really do not like a barn vibe and the first estate venue I went to was not really at all what I envisioned. It was older and smaller than the pictures (go figure….).

The venues I do like (willowdale, tupper manor, delamar,Blithewold, and misselwood to name just a few) only have limited dates or none at all for 2027.

Looking for anyone who has booked for this year or 2027 and can recommend some venues that aren’t typically front and center on the Knot or WeddingWire+ within the budget above. Open to NH, ME, MA, and CT(only if less than 2.5 hour drive from Boston)

Help finding MA/RI coastal venue within our budget

Hello! My fiancè and I are beginning our search for a wedding venue in Rhode Island/Massachusetts area along the coast and just recently toured the Lakehouse in Halifax, MA, and the Blithewold in Bristol, RI. We are looking for a venue that has an “old money” coastal estate feel to it (like a Newport mansion) and for which we don’t need to decorate much. Guest count will be around 120, open bar isn’t a must, and one of our biggest priorities is having a pleasant, enjoyable, memorable experience for everyone involved.

We liked the Blithewold for its beautiful views and gardens, and were quoted approximately $55k and $60k for the venue fees and catering, but plan to limit our guest count to bring those prices down to fit within our $70k overall budget. Venue budget is about $50k.

The lakehouse in Halifax was nice but a little too modern and new for us and was right on the top of our venue budget of $50k.

We also have a tour lined up for the Misselwood estate in Beverly, MA but haven’t had the chance to view it in person yet.

If you have thoughts, can you please share any venues that might fit the atmosphere we are looking for that may fall within our budget for a summer 2028 wedding? And if possible, we would greatly appreciate any insight you can provide as to prices and what each venue costs?

Quincy Adams Inn (Best Western)

Hi all! We are looking at venues in the greater Boston area and saw the Quincy Adams Inn as an option. They don’t have as much of an online presence/reviews I could find as some other venues, but it looks like a cute spot. Does anyone have any experience hosting or attending a wedding here? Have thoughts or reasons you didn’t go with them? TIA!

Looking for affordable wedding venue recommendations in New England!

My fiancé and I are looking for wedding venue recommendations anywhere in New England for fall 2027! We’d prefer a Saturday, but we’re definitely open to a Friday if it makes a big difference in price.

We’re hoping to keep the total wedding around $20–25k, including food, bar, tables/chairs, etc. I know that can be challenging in New England, but we’re paying for it ourselves and really don’t want to spend all of our savings on one day!

Ideally, we’d love a venue that is mostly/all-inclusive and includes catering, bar, tables/chairs, etc. We’re open to pretty much anything — barns, farms, restaurants, country clubs, breweries, etc.

If you got married somewhere in New England for around this budget, please share the venue and what you ended up spending! Also would love any tips for finding affordable venues. ❤️

Venue

Hi Looking for a wedding venue in New England (preferably Newport) for a black tie wedding with an around 100k wedding budget- it seems like this is not enough for most Newport venues. Ideally would have a waterfront component and easy lodging. Thank you in advance for any ideas!

Looking for DJ, southeastern MA

Looking for firsthand recommendations on a DJ!

Really just looking for someone who’s good at reading energy, keeping people on the dance floor, is good at transitioning from one song to the next, and can follow directions (nothing crazy, just do-not-plays and must-plays).

Really do not want a “hype man” style DJ, ie someone who yells over the music to try to stir the crowd.

Hotel Blocks

Hi everyone!

Just curious the pros and cons of hotel blocks. Has anyone not booked a hotel block for their guests? I am just wondering because every hotel I have tried to book through for any wedding I have been invited to I have never been able to book with the special rate with the block code and I've ended up booking at full rate.

We are getting married in the Lakes Region so there are plenty of hotels in the area as well as Airbnbs and camping grounds which some of my family likes. And my fiancees extended family tends to like getting a compound or estate for these types of get togethers.

Because this is a touristy area I have considered sending out invitations earlier than I should- so people can make travel arrangements.

For our bridal party and immediate family we will be having lodging onsite. And I think most people will be within driving distance

Let me know thoughts!

Outdoor ceremony locations in or near Worcester, MA?

Hi! I’m looking for preferably outdoor (but can be indoor!) ceremony locations in or around Worcester, MA? There’s a venue we are interested in but they aren’t ideal for a ceremony, only cocktail/reception. We loved Tower Hill but they only allow ceremonies at 6 pm and later, which isn’t ideal. We would love to do our entire wedding there, but it’s pricey. Based on this, we are looking for a separate ceremony location for the other venue we are interested in!

Does anyone have any good recommendations? Thank you!

Looking for a Boston-Area Foodie Venue

My partner and I are beginning our venue search. We both come from big foodie families, so finding a venue with excellent food is one of our biggest priorities. The challenge is that most of my partner's family are from Florida, so around half of our guests will be traveling from out of state and we don't want to make them go more than an hour outside of Boston (or potentially Manchester, NH) if we don't have to.

Must-haves:

-Excellent food (or a relationship with an excellent caterer)

- We will have a few guests with Celiac disease, so gluten-free options are also a must

-Can accommodate at least 200 people

-Indoor space (we are aiming for October 2027—outdoor space preferable for pictures and cocktail hour but not necessary)

-Wheelchair accessible

Nice-to-haves:

-A rustic vibe like a barn or lodge

-A scenic view

-On-site guest accommodations

Some places already on my radar are Granite Links in Quincy and Red Lion Inn in Cohasset. Thank you so much for any suggestions!

Branford House Advice

Hi everyone, I'm looking at venues remotely and really love Branford House - just wondering if anyone has advice/experience regarding:
a) Layout
b) Lack of bridal suite

Regarding layout, I'm planning on having about 170 guests and am not very comfortable with the idea of splitting people into 2 rooms for a sit down dinner - I'm considering a tent for this, but has anyone split guests into the 2 rooms? If so how was it? Additionally, I assume having the dancing indoors would be fine but if there are opinions that's appreciated!

In terms of bridal/groom suites, I could get ready at my parents' house or a hotel... but wondering what other people have done.

Thanks for any input!

Boston Wedding After Party

We’re eloping in Boston on a Saturday & then going to dinner in the Back Bay area with a small group. Dinner will be over around 9:30-10:00. If we wanted to continue the party, maybe some drinks & dancing where would you suggest? The group is 30-40s, around 10 ppl, mostly from out of town & staying in Back Bay hotels.

Cape Cod Wedding Venue: Wequasset vs CBI

My fiancé and I are just engaged and looking at wedding venues around the cape. I’m torn between Chatham Bars Inn and Wequasset. Honestly I wanna hear raw input from people who either got married there or attended a wedding at either place. Thanks!

Cheaper Boston Weddings

Hi all! Newly engaged so my research is very minimal. I am looking for a garden style wedding venue and I’m searching the consistent ones such as Glen Magna, Lyman Estate, Elm Banks.

Does anyone know of any pretty gardens that host weddings in the Boston area? Public libraries? Town halls?

Thank you!

Edit: so far I have found Hamilton Hall and Codman Estate! They are both less than 5K for just a venue rental.

i am so overwhelmed

Engaged not so recently and we have been putting off the wedding thing because of life and honestly we do not know where to start.

We knew we would end up in Boston, (here we are!) so planning a New England wedding. my family is from midatlantic so it is not an unreasonable travel for them but have friends from all over. Including some from out of the country.

Our budget is 25k. I thought this was very reasonable but now I am so overwhelmed looking at packages. I am sure it is cheaper to book everything separately but I don't even know where to start. We dont have any close family or friends who have planned weddings in the US. We really need to nail down the venue so we can get things started, that's correct right? Venue first and the other stuff may depend on the venue?

Venues wishlist:

Guest: 100 people

Would like somewhere that has lodging for most if not all of our guests

Within 2.5 hr drive from boston logan? Also, we would really like to coordinate shuttles for our guests, any tips?

other things I am so confused about... bars? We are not big drinkers, some of our friends may imbibe but not most. We do want to pay for their drinks, is a consumption bar the best option?

We plan on spending most of the budget on venue and food. (going very budget thrift for wedding dress).

this is a ramble. i am overwhelmed by zola. by herecomestheguide. Help!

Straightforward elopement video content creation

My partner and I decided to elope at the boston city hall next week Aug 21! It’ll just be the two of us, so we’re looking for a content creator to take raw footage/clips for relatives and friends.

We’re quite strapped, so we’re looking for something more affordable. Not looking for much (not even polished reels!), just clips!
