I've read up about advanced flow being the main option. Were there any others I should know about or do I just go forward with advanced flow?

I'm not very skilled in rooting and degoogling etc. So i will need an easy alternative. It doesnt need to be abe to download things. I just need playlists and background play.

So I degoogled my phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 12), got rid of almost every google app and replaced it but I didn't change my OS because I didn't want to risk fucking up my only phone and losing a LOT of info I have on there. My question is, is that enough to dodge Google's bullshit that's aimed at clamping down on "unlicensed" 3rd party apps?

1 device I have runs an Android 14 custom rom and has Newpipe installed through an Fdroid client and it displays thumbnails.
Another that I have is on Android 8 using an Obtainium install from Github source and does not display the thumbnails, they are all greyed boxes with text next to them.
Both are on v0.29.1 and seem to have the same settings selected - neither has the images set to do not show, and I've been selecting different image qualities to see if that is the problem.

Truthfully, my main obstacle to using NewPipe is my own concern about depriving content creators of legitimate views and, therefore, ad revenue and sponsorship money.

How do you get around that? Do you just not care?

My current version 0.28.7 has some problems, the only quality availble is mpeg 360p, i can't download the audio of videos only the video entirely and the subtitles, the app tells me to report a problem each time i play a new video despite the fact that the video doesnt have any problems, cant acess to playlists and the list goes on

I get it - it's a fork, but still...

It often happens that I accidentally click on a video on the recommended section, and the entire queue of videos I had gathered disappears. And I have to gather each video manually again.

I don't know if there is some kind of solution, but I would appreciate any help.

I watched a privacy video from the hated one and he recommended this instead of normal yt as it hides ur yt usage to yt

Hi i keep getting this error at the bottom of the screen for everything. while searching, when the search results show up, when I play the video, load comments, change tabs, basically everywhere. Even though the app works just fine. It's really annoying. Is there a way to get rid of it?

I've been using PipePipe mainly for downloading videos to watch offline.

For almost a week now, anytime I try downloading videos nothing happens. Out of 10 downloads, I will be lucky to get 1 or 2 actually downloaded. Any suggestions?

Ps: I'm on the latest update, and the issue is the same on both my phone and tablet.

I was using Tubular Polymorphicshade in the past but it got archived ,and brave newpipe is also not on latest newpipe changes het. Except ,pipe pipe I wanted to know if some other minimalistic fork exist yet
