r/Nexomon

Does Nexomon Extinction drain the switch's battery faster than other titles for you?
Sorry if this isn't allowed, I don't know where else to ask this?
My Nexomon: Extinction Team
My dedicated Nexomon: Extinction team.
The one I used to beat the entire game, barring a few battles in the post game (I wanted to use the children of Omnicron so badly), and also the final boss and post game final boss.
This team is, and was, simply put...
Crazy.
They destroyed the game.
Keep in mind, almost no potions (There was that one random battle somewhere in the game... I wanted a certain mon to get EXP... but other than that, nada. Zilch.)
They cleaned up, with a few losses, I'll admit.
But oh, did they clean up.
1. Lumerei - Fang The Flames
I saw the Nexomon: Extinction starters and maaaaan, was I ever stuck for a bit.
Honestly though, keep that psychic cat away from me.
Goodness.
I really liked the fire cat, the wind cat, the electric gecko... I mean, obviously...
And finally, the others didn't look too bad. After giving each of their final evolved forms a look, I made my choice.
Yeah, happy fire cat had to be it. There was no other way. The final forms of the others failed to catch me.
And so I began my journey...
And man oh man did this thing hit like a truck.
Highest attack on my team, tanky enough to take it. Fast enough too.
I was happy.
Real happy.
And it was reliable too.
And then... it happened.
Turns out Lumerei is only really good for fire moves. And even still, of those moves, for whatever reason, none of them are good at burning?
What?
Who designed this?!
It doesn't learn any good normal moves.
Shame.
Well, at least it was good.
After all, it took on, well that might be a spoiler, when literally no one else could safely.
And of it, it won.
Good job, soldier.
Good job.
2. Yarnesty - The Dark Horse
Now this one perplexes me.
No, I mean really.
Yarnesty was caught in its first form while I was exploring the first areas of the game.
I'd admittedly gone a little out of my way, buuuut, I decided to just keep going.
Before starting the game, I'd made up my mind to catch this mon if I'd ever found it.
And of it, I thought such a feat was light years away from me. Who'd have guessed.
It's a starter.
It's supposed to be ridiculously rare, right? Right?!
Yeah, lessons learned.
In any case, Yarnesty was good and reliable from the start. A lil' weaker than Lumerei, sure, but then... outta nowhere, it became this beast.
It's hard to explain. Heck, even I don't know where to begin.
But... for whatever reason... and for an unspecified amount of time in the mid-game, Yarnesty destroyed the enemy.
It was so strong, it quite literally dominated almost every battle.
It got so overpowering that even though my whole team was at around the same level, it was always a level or two higher... cuz I just kept relying on it.
Said dominance of the game reduced as time went on... however...
This one was strong and reliable.
Well done, soldier.
3. Reptomotor - The Best Monster In The Game
I did say I wanted this one too, did I not?
Yeah, this guy was a beast too.
What!?
Really!?
Yeah, I heard people call him the best monster in the game.
Honestly, I would fail to disagree.
First off, design wise, while not what I would pick ordinarily, it did have something of a "weirdo" vibe going on.
I caught it in some random cave. ( I went for so long before catching either Yarnesty or Reptomotor.)
Anyway, I just found it randomly, and of course, I caught it.
Leveling it further it gained an interesting move.
You know the name.
Yep.
Bloody obvious, someone could argue.
That move... that move right there... of course with some other moves here and there, resulted in me getting what is perhaps one of the most broken Nexomon of all time.
Yep.
Not gonna lie, my abuse of his brokenness did not begin immediately.
In fact, it was just one of my better Nexomon for a time, before... you guessed it.
The game got harder.
I started to have to rely on unorthodox strats to win, and well, unorthodox it was.
I'll simplify it.
The man did it.
In every single tough fight that needed it.
He did it.
Heck, he did it a lot.
He was the one that ended the final post-game battle, hence the massive level discrepancy.
And of it, yeah, he did need a lil' help.
Well, a lot actually...
But did he do it?
Yes...
Yes he did.
Great work, mate.
4. Foxdra - OooOooOh SpooOooOooky FooOooOoox
I saw a Foxdra on some opponents team and, well, ghost being an entirely new type, I had to have one.
Not gonna lie.
I deliberated this decision for quite a bit, looking for better looking ghost mons in that creepy town.
However, I failed to find one.
And so, of course I caught the cool- looking ghost fox.
You wouldn't?
Foxdra.
It had good stats, good speed was reliable all the way.
Genuinely reliable.
However, I do have to admit...
While it did have good ghost and normal moves, from a ghost, I was kinda expecting more complex moves.
Something like... leech?
Well, anyway, a job well done is a job well done.
Take it easy, boy.
5. Moonline - The GOAT
Man, oh, man.
Do I have a lot to say about this man.
That's right.
This orb wieding boi.
This guy.
This dude.
Da man!
Ok, enough talk.
Not gonna lie.
This guy was really sth.
And by really something, let's just say that he was almost as memorable as Reptomotor.
No, no.
Worse.
He was and is the most memorable mon in my team.
Moonline.
If one looks up Moonline in the dex, one will be quick to note, should one take the time to, that Moonline's stats are not very good.
Simply... they are not on par with those of a fully evolved Nexomon.
Ok, so maybe it evolves.
Nope.
It does not.
And so, any fool would think... perhaps catching this man ain't the best idea.
And believe me when I say, that I had those exact same thoughts.
Moonline.
What are its strengths?
Well... it's cute.
It looks like a cat?
It has a great movepool?
When I first saw this thing, my thoughts were, simply... maybe.
Yeah.
Just maybe.
I wanted a psychic type.
It was a new type.
So when I saw this thing's stats, I was... unamused.
"Just catch sth else."
Nope.
I catch mons based on appearance.
Have you seen the psychic type?
More than a half of those things look like Eldritch horrors.
I don't wanna go anywhere near those things.
Horrors!
All of them!
Well, there was that one medusa type nexomon that I'd almost caught.
And then... it hit me.
Something may be behind all this.
Now, you might be thinking... "huh?!"
Let me explain.
I'm no stranger to game design or to pokemon like games. I've played a ton.
And so... in games like these... where most mons are of about even-ish strength... and there's this one guy with dumpster level stats... uhhh... yeah.
There has to be a reason.
Yep.
There simply must be a reason.
I refused to believe otherwise.
There just had to be.
I should add that in such games I never look up future movepools. (I prefer to be surprised.)
And so, shocker to me.
It was something new.
Now...
Don't get me wrong.
I caught this guy in the beach on accident after telling myself, if I see it, I will catch it.
Not the nicest way to catch a nexomon, but... I digress.
I even remember thinking... "Oh... man..."
And that was right... kinda.
For the next several plot points, my team had to semi-carry this man.
That meant, that in the majority of battles, this man had to stay in the back and get EXP from the team.
The problem?
Most fights became 5 v whatever I was facing.
And this little cat, well...
A little win here.
A little win there.
Maybe a possible flooring of the foe?
If there was one, I do not remember it.
However, around the time the secret member of those higher ranks was revealed... uhhh... yeah.
I remember that fight.
I lost.
I lost pretty hard.
And then I Moonlined.
Yeah...
Moonlining.
That's how you do it.
The thing is, Moonline learns a move in the game that kinda sorta makes it... THE GOAT.
I won't say what, but... with a wombo combo of moves that destroyed the foe in a very unorthodox way, Moon of the Line, or Line of the Moon did it.
And it wasn't just a one time thing.
Nope.
It happened a lot.
From that point on, in every tough battle, Moonline was there front and centre.
Why?
To win, of course.
This man.
No, this dude...
Destroyed the enemy.
And it wasn't even close either.
Nope.
It won...
Hands down...
No worries.
No fears.
Moonline's just built like that.
In the final post game battle, it played a major role in my victory.
Heck, even against the normal end game final boss, it was a beast.
Moonline.
I underestimated you.
Stay GOATed.
6. Rapinux - The Team's Youngest Soccer Player
I...
Actually intended on catching this thing way sooner than I actually did.
Yeah.
When I'd first seen its first form, I was like, yep.
That's the one.
But I'd decided against it for a time.
The reason?
The plot.
But when the plot unfolded more, well... I decided to catch my final Nexomon.
Well, kinda.
I did catch it but then leave to go find a normal type dragon so I could compare appearances.
Yeah, this guy's prevo won... or I couldn't find the normal dragon's final form. Meh...
And finally, it evolved.
Truth is, I wanted to catch a normal type for once after avoiding one so vehemently in the first game, so... this was kinda revenge.
I caught it by backtracking to that one place with a mermaid Nexomon on a wall or something.
And of it, it was awesome.
It was a normal type, sure, but as a subsidiary it learned some water moves... and they had a chance to freeze...
That I abused.
Did I mention that this bloke also had the same move that made Reptomotor so broken?
Yeah...
Same thing.
You can guess what happened next.
This guy was a beast too.
Admittedly, I wish I'd gotten more time to spend with this mon.
But...
Well...
The game had to end some day.
It was useful in every battle, always contributing... however unorthodox the strat was.
It also played a major role in the final post game battle.
Yeah.
I salute you, soldier.
I salute, you.
Whelp.
That is and was my Nexomon: Extinction team.
Each useful.
Each necessary.
And to them, the victory of the game does indeed belong.
They won it, and dare I doggone say it.
They did it.
They did it.
I guess im broke💔
Yall know the new nexomon when you go to the mountains it says "buy the full version" i hate that because SOMEONE IS TO BROKE💔 no seriously nexomon LOOKS AMAZING and i mean it tho i cant play because im not speeding money on a. Anyways thanks for reading this also tell me if you feel the same
My Nexomon Team
I'll start by saying that before I'd played this game, I'd really wanted to try it out for some time.

Anyway...

As a rule I made for myself, I would keep to the end any Nexomon I caught and decided was on my team till the end.

That's just the way I roll.

And because I'd already chosen my starter from my many, many, many visits to the fandom page, well...

1. Fetidoom - Skunks, Flamethrowers, Who Would Have Thought?
Easily said, not just as my starter but also as himself, this man managed to be one of my "Primero" damage dealers.
Heck, he might've been the best.
Terrible coverage, sure, but then again, most mons in part one also had terrible coverage...
But still, he packed a wallop.
And also... took a wallop too.
Yeah, this guy took hits surprisingly well.
Well done, Fetidoom. Well done.

So... one of my rules in mon selection is not to ask the Internet before I choose.

It's just a self rule.

In this case, though...

I did crack.

Rarities.

What do they mean?

Well, Nexomon players do.

I did not.

Fetidoom carried all the way past the first gym, but... who else would join?

2. Fanfrou - Mr. Plot Armor Himself
The rule is as so.
No checking the Internet for extra info.
Except... I did check. I checked it and I learned what was up.
Yep.
Oh boy...
So, the thing is, I saw Fanfrou in the shop and had already decided to buy it. However, then I saw a wild one, and well... let's just say... that I initially ignored it.
Not because I had no intention of catching it, no.
But rather, because I was still thinking about things.
Heck, even then, I was still yet to check on the Internet.
So... why was I waiting?
Well, I was... just waiting.
I was actually gonna catch it.
I really was.
And so, I was gonna...
But then I checked.
Rarity.
What role does it play?
Well... you know.
And so came the endearing question.
What should our hero do?
Stick to his guns?
Or faint for lack of strength.
You see the photo, don't you?
Yeah, I caught it...
With a nexotrap...
It was crazy, I know.
But I caught it.
Granted, I deliberated for a bit... but still...
I caught it.
And of it...
Well, as you may have assumed... it fainted pretty easily. Heck, it fainted quite a bit.
It was fast, but not a very hard hitter... nor could it take any hits well.
That was to be expected... right?
Well... first of all, it was not nearly as bad as one may think.
And second of all, well... have you seen his name?
This guy had some crazy plot armour moments.
For example, in the mirror match, it took on both Eelowatt and Fetidoom and won.
Against the second battle with Omnicron, even after losing the first time, this man... no, this king, no, Mr. Plot Armor himself, started the fight... and with accuracy drops and confusion... took out a whole half of Omnicron's HP bar.
No potions, no heals, nada.
On his own, the man stood on business.
Well, it was around a half. I do not remember the exact value. But it was around that.
This man... no... this king... must be immortalized. Fanfrou!

3. Weabride - Weeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaa Into Your Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
"Confusion, sleep, poison... Prepare to be the victim of my sinister technique!"
Wise words.
Not exactly how I used Weabride, but not exactly wrong either.
Weabride was yet another Nexomon I'd caught entirely because of its appearance.
Honestly, I don't know if it was before or after Fanfrou that I caught it, but still...
I kept it.
Much like Fanfrou, this one was subpar compared to the other better rarities.
But... wait... there's more.
Being of the "uncommon" rarity meant it was doing more.
But... that wasn't the end of it.
Nope.
This guy was good.
And I mean, real surprisingly good.
A sleep move for stall.
A poison move for DOT.
A powerful flying move.
Heck, even busted confusion.
Even still, a healing move.
The guy was not just reliable.
Weabride was pretty good too.
Not just once, but many, many times.
Good work, soldier.
Good work.

4. Torrex - When One Finds A Lizard, Well...
I found this guy on accident. Decided to keep him. I remember being kinda glad it was Mega Rare and not ugly.
Yeah, I ain't catchin' no ugly nonsense.
I caught it, and of it, well...
Whaddya expect?
The man was a beast.
Near on par with Fetidoom, this guy was my second most reliable Nexomon and did the dubious damage and took the dubious hits.
Say what one will, but the man was a gun... and then some.

5. Eelowatt - What Is That Damage??
Honestly, again... physical appearance.
I liked the dude.
Buuuuuuuuut...
He was uncommon.
So?
I caught him anyway.
He'll be fine, I thought.
Err... no.
Actually, for whatever reason, this man hits like a truck.
I mean no, really.
Why does it hit so hard?
Not as hard as Fetidoom, sure...
But the difference was not big.
To make it worse, this man had some sorta elaborate movepool with both bind and confusion.
Yep.
Two moves.
One binds, one confuses.
R u kidding me?
This thing hits like a truck.
Is... is it even supposed to be "uncommon."
Needless to say, this Nexomon did its duty... and well, at that.
Bro did not falter.
He took hits ok, too.
A surprise, but a pleasant one.

6. Prizmazor - Deinonychus
A predator, if you will.
It was the last I'd caught and in its second evolutionary form as well.
It was kinda line Torrex, but just ever so slightly less reliable, but still, also pretty reliable.
It did nothing wrong and took hits well, to say nothing of dishing them right back.
Great work, dino.
Great work.
