Are cheap retros under retail actually proof that Nike is completely out of ideas? 🙄👟
Most sneakerheads defending the current market are lying to themselves if they think endless discount retros mean the brand is thriving.
Kari and H discussed how easy it is to buy classic silhouettes today without raffles, lines, or resale markups. But the trade-off is painful: Nike is pumping out uninspired retro-plus colorways and lazy releases just to hit quarterly quotas. When Tinker Hatfield and early design teams created icons decades ago, there was real purpose, innovation, and intentionality behind every stitch. Today, leadership is just throwing random inventory at the wall to see what sells. Flopping on release day and ending up at outlets isn't a sustainable product strategy.
Are you happy copping classics for cheap, or has the lack of effort made you stop caring about new drops?
