Hey everyone! I've made a good amount of progress since last I posted. Everything currently fit, but it tight for some, outside of the home button and the Circle Pad which is going to require a lot of trial and error.

I'll keep it short but here is a comparison of every test print I have done so far. Sorry that the black petg is so freaking reflective that it is hard to see the details, but here they are.

I'm going to move on to the other parts just for a break from the constant tweaking of the same part over and over again

If anyone has any ideas of how to get the home button and circle pad geometry to be 3D printable, I am all ears.

I've been working on a project to increase the slab 2DS battery capacity by 16x using 4 Samsung ~5300 mAh 21700 batteries. Is it overkill? Yes, over 100 hours of gameplay is insane, but if I am going to make handholds, I may as well add batteries!
I've tried and tried and tried to find someone who has already modeled it, but I never could find one.

So here is the progress I've made on the 3D model for the front shell. There are a ton of issues, I know, after 2 weeks I just discovered the 3D scan I was referencing was scaled 1.42% too big and I've been fighting the measurements. The frame in the photo is my 3rd test print scaled to the correct size.

I am a strong believer in open source, so once I am done with the making the model, I'll share 2 versions, one that is almost dimensionally perfect, and one that works better for 3D printing over injection molding. I'll make all of the shell pieces eventually, but my main focus is the front, then back, then sides and top parts. I'll also make a version of the top part that has the USB Type-C mod built in.

Sadly nothing in the cartridge slot but it did have super Mario bros 2 on the sd card however gonna get the sonic rush games and maybe lost world for it as im trying to play all mainline sonic games gonna struggle with playing the advanced games however as I dont own a gba. Any other decent games you recommend as i was thinking about getting web of shadows for it even tho I have a 360 but trying to get a second hand copy is so expensive.

Nobody makes shells for the 2DS, so I decided to just experiment and dye the case. This used to be a white with red sides 2DS. I dyed the red sides black and the front and back panels purple. I wanted the panels to be a uniform color but for some reason I got this cool looking (IMO)tie dye effect. As for the buttons I intended for them to be grey (kind of like the buttons on the switch lite if anyone has seen them) I guess I added to much of the Rit dye and for some reason it gave them a deep purple color which lowkey looks fire. If anyone’s is wondering I used Rit DyeMore synthetic. Honestly one of the easiest consoles i I have ever worked on.

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to repair my New Nintendo 2DS LL, and I’m looking for the identity of this missing 4-pin component, or at least a compatible replacement.

This component fell off my motherboard. A kind Reddit user previously helped me by examining another motherboard, taking close-up photos, and tracing the pin connections. Thanks to their help, I’ve learned a lot, but I still haven’t been able to identify the part.

I’ve attached the following images:
A full photo of my motherboard, showing where the component fell off.
A close-up of the missing component location on my motherboard.
A reference photo (not mine) showing the original component installed.
A close-up photo of the original component, kindly taken by another Reddit user.

The measured connections are:
Pin 1 and Pin 4 are connected to the same signal net.
Pin 2 is connected to GND.
Pin 3 is connected to the positive side of a nearby capacitor (likely a power rail such as VCC).

The nearby 3-pin component is also missing, but I still have that original part, so I am only looking for help identifying the 4-pin component.

The original component is marked “M12” (with a manufacturer logo on the left side).

Based on my measurements from the photos, I estimate the package to be approximately 2.1 × 1.9 mm, but this is only an estimate and may not be accurate.

At this point, I think it’s possible that the original part is a Nintendo/OEM-specific component, so I’m no longer expecting to find the exact original part.

If anyone recognizes this package, knows what type of device it is, or can recommend a compatible replacement, I would really appreciate your help.

Also, if my estimated package size appears to be incorrect, I’d be very grateful if you could point that out as well.

Modded system was working fine last night before I went to sleep. Woke up this morning and now it won’t turn on. Also red charging light turns off after 2-3 minutes of being plugged in.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I have the button still. Tried super glue. It worked for a bit but eventually came off. Any suggestions?

Is there a website that sells these color shells? I know they are mostly exclusive to the japanese versions but I am planning on modding my red and black one and can't really afford to spend the extra $200 just for the color. I tried aliexpress but they only sell the silicone cases and I looked on ebay for replacement parts but they are selling the 2ds' for $50 but not for the colors I'm looking for. Please help!

Hello, since ive installed LumaMod for my console, it shows this (see picture) after 2 months of playing while it has been modded, now its this screen with the sd card of the console itself, and when i use my 64gb sd card with all the modded stuff - the screen just turns black, no sound, no nothing. I would appreciate any advice/help. i even brought a sd card Reader if that would help me somehow.

voila j’ai fait une vidéo pour vous montrer. j’ai deux 2DS identiques , dont une qui a réinitialisée récemment. au départ elles se sont toujours connectées. je veux dire sur place mii street pass.bref. maintenant elle se connecte à street pass entre elles, mais que sur tomodachi Life.pas sur autre chose et encore moins sur place mii street pass. et ça a commencé avant la réinitialisation. des idées??la mise à jour a été faite.

**EDIT :**on a trouvé le problème, on avait pas fait la mise a jour avant la réinitialisation , et après celle-ci, le logiciel n’avait pas bien démmaré.

In short, my uncle sent me a 2DS by mail (from Portugal to France) and upon opening the box (which was already somewhat damaged), the 2DS was kinda damaged as well and he no longer turns on or charges, although everything inside seems to be in order.

anyone has any clue what is the real problem?
