1. how does the emperor suddenly find the courage to defy taira? it was abrupt and not at all convincing when that happened.
2. Why did kaku share his plan with misumi in the form of a cryptic puzzle rather than explicitly spelling it out . i mean, he already knew misumi is smart enough to understand any plan. why take such risks especially when the stakes are so high and there could be loss of several lives in the war. this gamble was so unnecessary. what if misumi had failed to interpret it?

Its a great scene but its so baffling to me. I feel like I can justify every action of the characters well, except for this because its so absurd. Even if there is an ambush, just shooting him before leaving would lose her nothing. I get his death might be a signal, but that dosent make sense either because

a.) why? If they're close enough to see him get clipped, just attack when she gets close enough. What changes?

b.)hes on fucking fire, youd think theyd assume the guy is dead or that the tea ceremony is over. If that dosent end it what the hell will? So if that truly is the signal, its already happened, just shoot him and retreat?

I get she is panicked and intimidated and not thinking completely logically, but like come on. She is cool enough under pressure to just kill the guy

I finished the anime weeks ago and have not read the manga yet.

Since the story is set in Japan, all see the clear inspiration for Asama from the cavalry genius Yoshitsune. But what about the Three Kingdoms part? I can see the image of Zhong Hui, a son of a prestigious clan in Asama; Deng Ai, a peasant-born minor agricultural officer in Misumi; and Guo Jia, a genius who can do everything to achieve the goal in Kaku. And now, with Kaku dead due to his illness, on the way back to the capital, I can't help but think about the other two characters, their bond and friendship would break like Zhong Hui and Deng Ai to their bitter end?

That’s all—do they live together? I was wondering about that while watching the series, and I don't think they ever specify it.

Even though I know it’s the collapse of civilisation, I still think they should be a tiny bit more advance for instance they should at-least have invented the rudimentary radio and some type of crude automobile as it would be not that hard to recreate especially with 1000 of books on the topics the same with canning of food . I don’t know if they do this later in the manga as I’m only reading the translation but that’s always stood out to me

What an amazing anime this is and really criminally underrated as well and I could say this is my top 3 anime of the season(re:zero and top 2 is Witch hat Atelier) I don't know if this is a hot take or valid criticism but it seems that the conclusion part has been a narration simulator for the most part. Like, the chasing/ambush science really felt flat and it really didn't show the "scale" of the Seii army. And from there one Wajima did not have the chance to talk and just narrated what happened to her and also the show the emperor's character development. Did not give her any last dialogue, or even a proper death scene. Poor Wajima. Could have wrapped it up for 2 more episodes animating it instead of narrating it. I know there are certain limitations like budget and how hard it is to animate a grand scene including horses.

Still an amazing anime regardless and can't wait for season 2!

That pursuit is so underwhelming

You have 10x more bigger army and you still cant do anything.

Scene in the narrow path is also stupid.

The supreme leade (wajima)r is in the front, no place to run, cant see ryumon, kaku and another army. Just asama and some soldier.

No strategic thinking that it is a trap or awareness that its enemy teritory like she was thinking when the bridge scene.

(Btw i think that bridge scene is also stupid. Just let your lackey kill ryumon duh. Command 10-20 man and kill ryumon, thats it. You win)

They also cant do anything to taira little son despite all of their advantage.

Wajima and her group are become group of clown. so different than when they was introduced.

Idk maybe author just want to make cool scene and trying to look smart and wrap it fast.
