​Hi everyone,

I’m in Ontario and my 2025 Nissan Kicks Play was recently declared a total loss after an accident that was not my fault.

The vehicle has around 25,000 km on it. My current loan payout quote is about $24,000. I have been trying to understand what the insurance company may offer as the actual cash value (ACV) and whether I may receive anything back after the lender is paid.

From what I’m seeing online, similar 2025 Kicks/Kicks Play models seem to be listed around the low-to-mid $20k range before tax, but I know insurance companies may calculate ACV differently based on comparable vehicles, mileage, trim, condition, and adjustments.

My main questions are:

1. Does insurance usually include HST in the total loss payout in Ontario?
2. If their offer seems low, what is the best way to dispute it?
3. Should I ask for the valuation report and comparable vehicles they used?
4. Since the accident was not my fault, is there any chance of getting a replacement vehicle or help with financing another vehicle?

I don’t think I have GAP insurance, so I’m trying to prepare myself before accepting any offer.

Any advice from people who have gone through a total loss claim in Ontario would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, so my friend is looking for a newer-ish car to replace his Kia that is burning oil and really likes the new Kicks. My question is are there any high mileage 2025+ models on the road yet? I know it’s probably way too early to know how reliable the new cvts are, but I’m just curious how long this car would last, specifically the transmission. Ideally it would last 300,000 miles but that’s a perfect world. We are also comparing this to the Honda HRV and Toyota Corolla Cross. He really wants a compact SUV, nothing smaller like a sedan or anything.

A buddy of mine bought a Nissan Kicks and it looks like there are crapload of bolts and push pins to take off.

I am sure he will be asking me is there an easy way to do this? Has anyone come up with clever ways to do the oil drain plug and filter?

So yesterday everything work today it doesn’t
Remote still lights up
The car hazard mirror lights flash when remote buttons pressed
But car won’t start, and yes I hold the fob on start button

Edit: it was low battery 🪫 6.07v, is my first push to start car, so this was new , last time the app gave me a warning(was in the shop), this time just home and found it weird car didnt wanted to start nor showed low battery of any sort

I just serviced my 2010 Nissan versa and I used Amazon cheap parts. I’ve got engine coils and spark plugs for $85. I did check out three different auto parts stores and was quoted 60 to 120 per unit. My question is did anyone else notice a drop in fuel mileage? If they went the cheap part route?

I have now had my 2026 Kicks for a month, and I am loving it, but I absolutely hate the air vents. They are not in good locations, and they don't open or close like I would like them to.

Just got my kicks s and was having a hard time finding custom headlight/tailight assemblies, do they not make custom assemblies for this car??
