Tip for those attending Noah’s 8/19 concert at Chase Field in Phoenix
Hey yall!
First time poster here. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up for tonight’s show.
If you don’t go to Chase Field often or haven’t been there in a while, this is important to know. While Chase Field is a domed stadium, the hvac system is notoriously terrible (it’s the same system the ballpark has had since it opened in 1998). While it won’t be as hot as it is outside, today’s forecasted high and low are 108/91. Be aware that it will still likely be fairly warm if not hot inside Chase Field, especially with a capacity crowd. Make sure to wear breathable clothes, stay hydrated, and wear deodorant/anti-perspirant.
Sincerely,
A Chase Field regular
confirmation we’re a go!!
Really hope this man’s OK and isn’t putting himself through hell to perform for us tonight, but I am so excited Phoenix let’s go!!
Stella Lefty’s MTV nomination is a joke
just had to vent. The fact that this girl is nominated twice after literally ripping off Noah Kahan’s sound (to a point her main song is the same as his Stick Season) to a point she had to credit him to avoid copyright….. and now she’s being awarded for stealing his art….. it’s mind boggling. Idk her, she may be a sweet person. But this is what I call a leach. Noah put a lot of work into his albums and here comes this chick, copying the sound to profit.
Concert Vibe
Is this a vibe for the Salt Lake show next week? I feel like it may be too “dark”
Merch hack ?
Ok, I know this isn’t really a hack but … I was just at the SD show. And I thought people were being dramatic about how long merch lines were.. no they were not. I got there around 6:30 but I was NOT about to wait in these lines. I was in the nosebleeds and the 7 merch stands were in the bottom level.
Anyways … I wasn’t leaving this concert without a shirt.
—-SOOO I went during a song ( I sacrificed no complaints( don’t hate me , I still listened to most the song and even the end ! ) I had to make a sacrifice ahha
Got up to the merch lines with ZERO people in them. AMZING ! Got the shirt I wanted and “ Noah Kahn made me cry “ sticker ( last one ) 😂
and dipped out and barely missed anything. I know this is harder to do with people in the pit / certain seats but I was so happy. Looked like they still had a lot of stuff too.
Early Merch Line Updates
Hey all, figured we could use a place through the day to assess how crazy the line is given how hot is out and given some people (myself included) have travelled from much milder climates LOL. Is anyone there assembling already? We plan to drop by when we’re out here shortly to see how it’s looking.
controversial?
i don’t think it’s completely accurate because some difficult choices at the start meant some of my favourites were knocked out immediately (maine 😭) but i’m still interested if any of my choices are hot takes
i’d also like to see other people’s results if you guys wanna do it. the website is music cup :))
Its finally our turn Phoenix!!!
Any word from all you people on Twitter about the surprise song!????
Stay hydrated everyone, so excited to sing my heart out with all of you.
Earing picture set up for tonight 🐞🦋
How did you first hear?
Inspired by another post, how did you first hear Noah Kahan. How were you introduced?
For me it was the way I stumbled onto a Noah song while trying to figure out a completely different song Id heard part of. I was like "shoot thats not it, oh wait I kinda like this, I'll finish listening to this first, oh damn this is good, whats his name? Lemme look him up more." And it was all over from there. Never ended up finding that original song bc I guess I stopped caring that it existed lol.
New DIY concert accessory
SSRI of choice + mini tea light = no need for lighter or phone flashlight
Gotta make them while we can since the bottles will stop rolling in the minute September hits
Clear bag policy tonight!!
Don't forget, Chase Field has a strict clear bag policy. You don't want to have to throw out your purse so plan ahead! Let's hope Noah got some rest and is on the other side of this sickness 🤞🏼
phoenix – online merch is live!!!
if you’re in town for a limited time make sure to place your order before you leave!!! you can ship anywhere but have to be within 50mi of the venue to place an order
How likely will we see a last minute cancellation or postponement for tonight's concert?
reddit.comXennial-era Fans! Feeling this vibe, too?
I’m late 40’s F born and raised in one of Noah Kahan’s twin states (still here). I’ve been listening to him for years, and I don’t really know how I found him, but the first song was Young Blood in 2017 when it was released as a single, not associated with an album.
Then a few months ago the twenty-somethings in my office were talking about a Noah Kahan concert at Fenway and a bunch of them were going together. I adore this group, they’re amazing humans. My ears perked up when I heard their conversation and I said ‘Noah Kahan? Fenway? Who is he opening for?’ and they looked at me like I was literally insane. I had zero awareness that he had become so mainstream and was now a headliner (and at Fenway?!? Wtaf??) reaching so many different audiences and genres internationally. I had listened to a lot of his music (many songs were already part of my daily playlists) but I definitely hadn’t listened through full albums and didn’t even know how many albums he had released.
It seems Noah Kahan has lived a lot of life between the time I first connected with his music and now. There’s notable maturity and growth in both the lyrics and the music itself. I was just introduced to the newer stuff this year by my 24 yo son (he loves Porch Light, found it on TikTok which I don’t use), and I’m connecting with Noah Kahan’s music in a whole new way. He is articulating so many experiences I’ve had and also how I felt about them, though I never would’ve been able to find the words. I feel a deeply sad nostalgia when listening, like going back home to a time that’s lost (The View Between Villages in particular for that). It’s hard to put into words. It’s not a bad thing. It’s almost comforting. It’s helped me to reflect on some things from the past and realize it’s everyone. These things happen to everyone. We all carry these experiences and feelings and thoughts.
So, just here to say I’m grateful for his ability and willingness to put himself out there so openly. It feels like he’s singing for all of us. I hope his life eventually calms down so he can just be.
Peace, love and ladybugs from New England ✌️
Are we Swifties?
Im half joking but as a mid 40s man I found Noah though my love of folk/Americana and thought he gave words to a lot of feelings I’ve had since childhood. He has a way of saying things that completely articulate things I’ve never said outside of my own head.
But then I went to the rose bowl… 5 minutes in and I overheard an argument in one of the food lines between and older lady and 2 younger ladies. When they stopped arguing I heard the younger 2 girls saying “why are these old people even here? How do they even know who he is?”
Then it felt like the twilight zone because most of the crowd was young 20 something yo women all wearing the exact same thing like a damn cult. There were other men there my age but a lot looked like they were only there with their daughters or partners.
I loved the show and the music but it was kind of jarring in a “maybe these aren’t my people” type of way.
Floor seats band pickup
So for floor tickets we have to pick up our wristbands first before we can get in line to enter the stadium?
Sounds like he’s really sick
Hoping for yall he doesn’t have to cancel tomorrow in phoenix. Poor dude. It must be so awful to have to perform a long show like that while being so sick.
Bad Show Experience
We were at the San Diego show last night. What is it with people having the incessant need to talk through the whole performance and I mean from start to finish? In our case, it was a group of girls and a couple of guys. Probably younger 20s. They were talking incredibly loudly and taking flash selfies and pictures constantly throughout the show. All the loud and quiet parts. I don’t remember myself or my friends acting like this at that age. We were there for the performance. And at this show. The one show we could get to go to on this tour. We wanted to see and hear Noah and we got a yap fest from not Noah. I don’t know has the crowd changed at these shows? It didn’t seem like this during the stick season tour. Just needed to vent and get opinions on this.
Edit:
We loved the show. Just not the people directly in front of us. We love Noah. So glad he performed even though he was so sick last night. We hope he feels better soon.
