Lil Wayne changed New Orleans Sound For The Worse.

Before Lil Wayne dropped the carter 2, his sound was a lot more similar to the Soulja Slim/B.G./Juvenile southern style.

After Lil Wayne got around NYC/Philly artists and started to use their styles people in New Orleans started to copy what wayne was doing. Examples: Curren$y, Fendi P, YMCB Flow they all East Coast Flows.

That is why i was so happy when 49 came out, he’s bringing back the real NOLA sound. R.I.P. BTY Young’N, before Rob he was bringing back the sound.

Let me know what think or am I tripping?? I think the only way Nola will progress musically is if they embrace that they are country southern mfs.

Many Hispanic immigrants migrated to South Louisiana after the storm to help rebuild. The migration of new immigrants during that time period caused Hispanic gangs, like MS-13, to try to establish a strong presence in the state.
