MLPwny WIP Ghost Bears/Crucis Lancers

Some WIP's of two trios of mechs, currently thinking FWL purple or a new camo color for the last set.

It's always a great time when I get to pick the colors and basing for a project. Weapon effects and snow/mud still for these ones, but happy with the colors so far :)

The Thunder Stallion is huge, garauntee you lose a toe dropping this sucker.

Target of Opportunity

After looking around for stuff with Spirit Cats in, I picked up Target of Opportunity by Blain Lee Pardoe. I've been hesitant about Dark Age stuff as I know it gets a bad rap, but I really enjoyed it! Lots of shifting and intrigue between four different factions without losing track of the threads, good characters and punchy combat- which I find can be quite sluggish and dull to read in some BT books, which sucks as that's the main draw!

Is A Bonfire of Worlds any good? It looks like that's the sequel to Tucker Harwell and Alexi Holt's adventures?

I'm now thinking about setting up a campaign based on Target of Opportunity- militia, clanners, Marik breakaways and no-good mercs seems like a fun set of forces to run against each other!

Combat vehicles are now in the Lance Builder.

1,252 vehicle variants across 366 chassis, everything from a Vedette up to a Demolisher, with full Alpha Strike stats. Armour, structure, damage, abilities and point values are all there, and the tool works out motive type from the movement, so a Pegasus shows as hover rather than just "vehicle". Combined arms forces total up properly on both BV and PV.

The data came off the Master Unit List, which is shutting down at the end of August ahead of the new MUL launching. Seemed worth grabbing the vehicle data while it was still there.

Pulling it also turned up a problem in my own 'Mech data. I had tonnage stored against the chassis, but BattleTech stores it per variant, and sometimes those differ. A Blackjack BJ-1 is 45 tons while the BJ2-O OmniMech under the same name is 50. Same story with the Firestarter, and the primitive Rifleman is 50 tons against 60 for the rest. That is fixed now, and all 3,753 variants have been checked against the MUL.

That also cleared up something that had been bugging me. Seventy seven 'Mechs had engine ratings that did not match any construction formula, always about 20 too high. Turned out the engines were right the whole time and the tonnage they were being divided by was wrong. All of them check out now.

Vehicles are off by default. There is a button above the chassis picker to switch them on.

Quick question for my fellow normies

With the new humble bundle for a bunch of digital Battletech supplements, does anyone know if it's actually worth it?

It has a pdf of the Total Warfare book and of the Battlemech Manual, do we know if the copies will be updated when the rules update finally goes "live"?

And the other books in the bundle, is it just lore and record sheets? I've never seen most of them before today.

Thanks for your time!

Keid V full playthrough on Veteran no less!

Evening folks!

Sorry for posting twice in a row but what once was one, is now eleven. Unkndoomer has battled out all eleven Keid V: YCR missions on hard mode. (I had to help a little on the last one)

I figured it was appropriate to bring the celebration of extreme firepower and unmitigated minelaying here and share it with the group.

Note that unmitigated minelaying is only allowed on veteran level and above. I've turned it off for a few missions in the normal version. I won't consider it cheating if you want to play veteran and turn it back on though... or play elite and find a way not to die to the infantry.

Happy viewing!

First Carapace Forge mecha

Last year, I released mecha stls and resin prints for my game Carapace: a Game of Memory and Ruin. This year, I'm starting a monthly mecha stl service called Carapace Forge. Each month, I will unleash a new 6mm scale mecha upon the universe!

The first month features this machine, the Black Reaver, a 6mm scale medium carapace built to hit hard and fast. Currently wrapping up modeling work for it in Blender. You can sign up to be notified when the service goes live (this month!) at https://carapace.world. The sub starts at $10 a month, and offers complete pre-supported Lychee files and STLs, and a physical tier for those without printers (limited to 50 subscribers the first month)!
