Thinking about getting the ZTE Nubia Z80 Ultra and I’d love to hear some real owner opinions 👀

How’s the phone actually been for you day to day?

Battery, cameras, gaming, heating, performance, bugs, signal, speakers, updates, etc.

Also can some owners post screenshots of MYOS? Especially:

- home screen / lock screen

- quick settings

- battery stats

- customization features

- camera UI

- animations/widgets

I’m especially curious about how polished MYOS feels compared to One UI, HyperOS, OxygenOS, etc.

Please give honest opinions, not only the positives 🙏

What do you like and what annoys you the most about the phone?

I Need help with my Nubia z80 ultra camera, i already made a post about this and got told It was just the beauty filter but It clearly is not Just that, even after setting it to 0 there's an annoying smoothness of the face surface, removing facial hairs and other stuff. It's really fucking annoying.

To not talk about the selfie camera, the IA filters there is the trashiest thing i've ever seen on a phone, like it does a 10x upscale of the quality and then applies the shit IA smoothening filter, like i'm a fucking Idol in asian social networks

so i emailed them regarding this before. they replied and said they have replicated it and confirmed with me that they will fix it in version 17. and now here we are at version 20. they have skipped version 17 18 and 19 entirely on our global version. glad that they really did fix this minor issue. hopefully they would be able to detect and fix other succeeding issues

Nubia itself is starting to feel like a calculator now. I’ve updated this phone like 5 times already, and every single update is just “performance improvements,” “bug fixes,” and “system stability.” No cool new features, no major UI changes, nothing that actually feels exciting to use.

At this point, updates feel more like maintenance patches than real upgrades. I genuinely don’t understand why people still get hyped for every new update announcement.

What actual cool features are you guys even using after these updates?

I checked the announcement and release dates for the Nubia Z70S, as well as the Z60 Ultra and Neo 3 GT 5G. For some reason, I forgot an important detail this morning.

EU Regulation 2023/1670 was issued on June 20, 2025. It requires security updates to occur no later than 2 months after the release of a patch from Google.

Unfortunately, we have the following situation (based on requests and popular phones in the community):

- Nubia Z80 Ultra - announced October 22, 2025 / global launch - November 6, 2025(will receive security updates every 2 months for 5 years)

- Nubia Neo 3[GT] - announced March 03, 2025/global launch June ?, 2025(Corrected*)(Yes, upd. every 2 months for 5 years)

- Nubia Z70S Ultra - announced April 28, 2025 /global launch April 28, 2025.(No)

- Nubia Z70 Ultra - 2024.(No)

- Nubia Z60 Ultra - 2023.(No)

Unfortunately, only the Z80 Ultra, Neo 3[GT] and newer models, officially sold in Europe, will receive regular security updates. This does not apply to MyOS/AIOS updates (ZTE decides when to release them, and the regulations do not regulate this).

All models after June 20, 2025... unfortunately, ZTE will decide when and what to update. There is no leverage over this, as happened with the Z80 Ultra when I spoke with ZTE Global. This is very unfortunate.

We will monitor updates for the Z80 Ultra, Neo 3[GT] and newer models(check information on "GSMArena", "EPREL") to ensure they are released on time.

Does anyone know About z70 ultra shutting down automatically problem i reset it but won't work dose anyone have this problem ?

Has anyone messed around with the AI wallpaper generator? This thing is actually outstanding, I've made some crazy good wallpapers and been having a great time with it. Also, just got my z80 so I'm just a bit enamored with the whole thing. The phone is amazing so far.

Have a Nubia Z70S Ultra. Before the update to Android 16 this phone had Google Now. After the update it got replaced by the complete trainwreck also known as ZBoard. I've really tried to find some use for it but it is completely useless. I get news articles from obscure local newspapers from my country. Like I'm interested in a car accident in a region I've never visited in my life. Has anyone managed to find a way to make it show you relevant articles based on your interests? If I want to receive articles about tech for example. How do you make it understand you'd like those types of articles and not that a moose got hot by a car somewhere?
