Emergency Rehome‼️

About a month ago I bought This spotted sailfin pleco from a pet store along with 3 mystery snails. I bought them because the pleco wasn’t labeled but was with some smaller species and because there was a buy 3 get 1 free on cleaner crews including plecos and all invertebrates (I was charged $20 for the pleco!!!) so I decided to add him to help clean the biofilm and algae issue I had.

Fast forward to now and the tanks been getting harder and harder to keep up with and I can no longer do it. 2 snails have already died because I waited an extra day to do a water change due to my life and because I recently lost my job I can’t pay for test kits, proper food, or water conditioner and physically won’t be able to do the next water change I’m afraid.

I’m located in O’fallon, Missouri and I’m unable to drive anywhere so please, if anyone with a large enough tank is willing to rehome these two I’d be more than willing to give them for free. I just want them to live happily :(

SB1002 on State House Docket Today! CALL YOUR REPS!!!

Throughout this legislative session, politicians in Jefferson City have continued efforts to weaken public education. We have seen public schools shortchanged in the state budget, more taxpayer dollars shifted to private schools, and now an attempt to make school board elections partisan and move them to the November ballot.

School board elections in Missouri have traditionally remained nonpartisan and are held during municipal elections so voters can focus on local candidates and local school issues outside of the noise and cost of November election cycles. These are volunteer, unpaid positions, and candidates should not be expected to raise the kind of money needed to compete in partisan November elections.

SB1002 would change that by making school board elections partisan and moving school board races, along with bond and levy issues, to the November general election. What is especially concerning is that this version of the bill specifically targets only school districts in St. Charles County.

This is not what many St. Charles voters, parents, and educators want for our schools.

Some little gems in neighborhood

I’ve been stumbling across some seriously underrated hidden gems lately, and two places instantly made it onto my favorites list.

First, Thai 4 U — this place is such a vibe. Cozy interior, beautiful decor, genuinely warm service, and food that feels comforting without trying too hard. Their Tom Kha soup is absolutely divine — creamy, silky, aromatic, with that perfect balance of coconut, citrus, and spice. Even the bubble tea was surprisingly good. You can tell they actually care about the experience. (Instagram)

Then there’s casa tequila cantina and grill — completely different energy but equally fun. Lively atmosphere, great music, and the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned. I’m obsessed with their pomelo and mango margaritas.

Honestly, some of the best spots aren’t the flashy downtown places. They’re the smaller restaurants quietly serving amazing food and building their own loyal crowd.
