I use this resolution on mi 4k mini led tv as monitor and it is the perfect resolution. You get 4k ppi ultra wide with 30% performance improvement over 16/9 4k.
This would make a lot more sense for regular 34 inches ultrawides instead of having to go for unreachable resolutions like 5k.
Is there a reason why this was t established as a viable ultrawide res?

Recently i have a bad itch to upgrade my monitor, not sure if it actually worth but i am looking into it.
Right now i use an LG 27GP850-b, Nano IPS, 1440p, 180hz monitor which is, for my own eyes, incredible for what it offers coming from an old slow Samsung VA. Its Fast, responsive, vibrant colors and high refresh rate.
So the next step is a new technology panel. I have a Ryzen 5 5600x and a RX 7800XT and i play some competitive shooter (like PUBG) and AAA titles (i got a huge steam backlog) and i am debating with these monitors.
As a new guy into OLEDs i am overrun with all the OLED terminology (panel technology, coating etc). I found these in my region around my budget (max 400 euro)
And i am between the AOC (QD-OLED) and the LG (WOLD with MLA).
Whats your opinion ? Which one would you recommend ? Is any other monitors to have in mind ?
i’ve had this monitor for almost a year now. it started acting real weird lately. When i first start the pc, the monitor opens as if the brightness is set to 500 out of 100. but it’s actualy set to 50. it only returns to normal if i close and re-open the monitor a few times. but i check the brightness after it goes back to normal and it’s still at 50.
So the brightness actually doesn’t change at all but everything goes so bright and it looks disgusting.
For reference, first 2 images are from when it’s working normally and last 2 images are from when the brightness goes crazy.
Has anybody experienced this issue before? Any ideas how to fix this?
