What Utility of some step components?

Can someone explain me how to use the multiply step and divided step step comp?, cause when you use this, the sequence is altered and not in sync with the pattern anymore. So what is the purpose of this??. If I would want to multiply x2 a snare for example, I don’t want the bar to be longer, I just want to double the snare

OPXY 1.1.15 unstable

The latest firmware update is very unstable on my machine. It keeps on crashing and freezing start up. Time is way longer than before, up to a minute. I will revert to version 14 in the meantime.

Stoked on the new update, but does anyone else's device take like 3 minutes to boot up now?

Yesterday i thought my xy was frozen but it turns out it just boots extremely slow all of the sudden.

Opxy bar bug fix

Pressing bar to switch to switch from 1.2.3.4 does this on my opxy. It jumps around randomly. Does this happen to you? Did this get fixed in the new update? This has been so annoying.

One of the best new OPXY feature wasn’t in the patch notes

Theres a random preset template!

You can finally start projects with different sounds. This is huge. It’s one of the most fun parts of the Move, and now it’s on the XY!

I ran into this by accident. Hold shift + project, scroll to template, choose “random presets”

Sat down to test it for five minutes and looked up an hour later with a fun little track.

OP-XY Update FINALLY!

They improved one thing I was so vocal about: file handling. Love it!

making a lo-fi beat from scratch on the OP-XY

make a lo-fi beat on the OP-XY with me. no plan, just a drum pack to get me started and about half an hour to get from a blank project to a first sketch.

I share my process as I go, what I'm thinking, and how I usually go about exploring a track. Picking sounds, laying down the base, how I setup my scenes and using song mode to play it out.

let me know what you think of this video and if you'd like more like this. It’s definitely the longest one I’ve done.

OP-XY preset folders not showing up

I have a bunch of presets which somehow do not show up on my OP-XY, but when I connect it to the Field Kit, I see them. Strangely enough, two of the about 25 projects get seen by the OP-XY; all the others don't. What could be the reason for that? The preset substructure looks exactly the same. Unfortunately, I can't recall where I found those presets.

Feels like it's been a while since my last OP-XY upload! I've been focusing other gear lately, but it was refreshing to pull this out last night.

Just a random jam

Beginner Level Learning Resources for OP-XY

I am really interested in the OP-XY, because of the design, the tech, and the platform it can give for creativity. However I am a level 0 beginner when it comes to music production and music theory, but am willing to learn from the bottom up, so I have a solid base level knowledge. I am looking for suggestions on good YouTube channels/tutorials, online courses, etc that would be a good starting point for a beginner like me. Thanks in advance!

How to get ascending pitch hihat rolls?

Any tips or tricks on how to do this? Rolls alone are easy and my method is to use the division step component. But to have each note in the roll descend or ascend in pitch is challenging

Current methods:
- step components (pitch bend up/down): this works ok but not much control
- arpeggiator: works ok too, but hihats need their own track. can be tough to time right when recording
