I’m trying to use x11vnc even xrdp and an ubuntu desktop environment to get setup. For some reason the port does not work to connect on OVHCloud. On my VPS from BlueHost I copy the same instructions and the port works connection successful. Any ideas?

I have bare metal servers in OVH. When tried to reinstall one machine suddenly OVH detected anomaly and planned some "intervention". There was no details about intervention, in regards to what intervention is taken, what is purpose, etc. Zero.

Server got restarted in rescue mode and that's it, no further updates at all. Day after this "magical intervention" no update from OVH. Opened request with question what's the story. No response, just silence.

Another day, tried to reinstall again - failure. Opened support request - 2 days later some "support technician" just wrote message that he sees server is running certain OS and wants me to confirm that server is fine, while server actually is running nothing, I can't SSH to it, can't reinstall. SO, technician didn't even bother to investigate what server is doing, just wrote some generic "blurp" and that's it. I can assume that he is pretty much 100% useless actually.

So, 4 days server down, technician technical competence is 0, didn't even bother to check server. Now probably another few days before there will be another incompetent person writing some garbage message.

To add to it - it is second time when after "magical intervention" which OVH raises by themselves server gets screwed. Last time had to reinstall everything as after restart "magical intervention" happened and made server unbootable.

Now I start thinking that OVH is making selection for datacenter technicians based on "the dumbest the better for OVH team". I wonder how they will deal with this. 4 days I can't use equipment I pay for, support done nothing (or maybe even helped to cause disaster).

EDIT (2026-07-01)

Issue opened on 2026-06-26 has been resolved on 2026-07-01 after I contacted OVH by phone with complaint.

Here is what resolution email mentioned: "we have replaced the buggy disk with " - so looks like their "proactive intervention" is worth nothing as for 6 days they were not capable to identify hardware failure on server connected to their monitoring system with "proactive intervention" enabled. TO me it looks like this "proactive" means sending random emails about some imaginative "intervention", which never happens.

is anyone else currently experiencing problems with OVH VPS services?

One of our VPS instances suddenly shows "This service is expired" in the OVH Manager and is no longer accessible. The weird thing is:

- The service was booked just a few days ago and has been paid for

- OVH's own expiration notice email lists it as running until 2026-07-26

- We have 9 other services on the same account and they're all live and working fine

Error code: EU.manager-4.6a468285.3215079.2f1266d52f0352d08aeeca615188f73d

We've already opened a support ticket, but I wanted to check if this is a known issue or if anyone has seen something similar (billing glitch, Manager bug, etc.). Did anyone get a service falsely flagged as expired recently, and how long did it take support to fix it?

It's only been a couple of months since OVHcloud raised their prices, and they already have to do it again!

CEO Octave Klaba announced an upcoming price hike on his X account. And he also predicts more price increases to follow as hardware keeps getting more expensive!

I setup the Backup Agent in the kumufi server already but forgot to click the link to activate the key. How can I get a bew key? They old key is expired.

I try VSPC reset password, never receive email.

Backup Agent is in status NOT INSTALLED no policy is assigned to it.

Try ticket for 10 days zero reply.

I really need the backup Agent to work so my server is fully backup. Please help.

I'm posting this because I've exhausted every private channel I know of.

I'm the founder of a small water-tech startup.

Our OVH Public Cloud project contained years of wastewater AI and microbiology research.

In 2025 the project became suspended and was subsequently permanently deleted.

After I contacted support, OVH told me in writing that:

- the issue was not related to my payment, and later

- that the issue was OVH's responsibility.

Since then I've:

- worked through support,

- completed the claims process,

- exchanged months of correspondence,

- sent formal legal notices in both India and France,

- completed the contractual amicable-resolution process,

but the matter remains unresolved.

I'm not asking Reddit to decide who's legally right.

I'm interested in whether anyone else has experienced account-state, billing, voucher, or Startup Program issues that resulted in suspension or deletion despite believing their account should have remained active.

Over the next few days I'll publish the complete document set (with appropriate redactions), including:

- timeline,

- invoices,

- Startup Program voucher records,

- support responses,

- legal correspondence,

- and the reconstruction methodology for the lost research.

I setup a windows 2025 standard on dedicated server and spun up 1 VM, the host was automcatically windows activated, but the VM i could not activate inspite of changing the kms to kms.ovh.net, and trying

slmgr /skms kms.ovh.net:1688
slmgr /ato

I have a seperate IP for the VM via vmac which is attached to it, could it be, because kms.ovh.net not recognising the additional IP? The host IP has the licence attached and works correctly.

OVH ha sido mi proveedor de confianza durante muchos años, calidad precio no tenía competencia.

En el último año he notado una degradación de calidad en el servicio

- Mantenimientos o Incidencias más frecuentes (con las caídas de servicio correspondiente)

- Incremento de precios (pero solo añaden más emails, más dbs basicas, más cosas banales digamos)

Por otro lado, la asistencia vía ticket cada dia es más lenta y no es raro que te ignoren y pasen meses sin respuesta.

Actualmente me estay costando recomendar a clientes, porque con los cambios de planes no se cual es la mejor opción para el tipo de web, porque los noto más lento.

Los VPS y Bare Metal siguen siendo buenas opciones y van geniales, pero para un cliente habitual (web básica / ecommerce) me parecen opciones caras para ofrecer a un cliente.

Espero que solo sea una mala racha, me disiculpo porque en algún ticket perdí las formas (debido a lo ignorado que fui jaja).
