The canal between Cancún and Isla Mujeres looks different from the bow of a boat [OC]

Most people take the ferry from Puerto Juárez and spend the crossing looking at their phones. Crossing this channel from the water level — not the ferry deck — is a completely different thing. The color shift between the lagoon and the open Caribbean happens in about 200 meters, you can see the exact line where the bottom changes. The hotel zone skyline is only visible for about a 15-minute window before you round the point toward Isla.

Been working this route since before half those hotels were built.

Anyone been to Isla Mujeres recently — still worth the day trip or has it gotten too crowded?

On our second day of safari on the Serengeti in Tanzania, a cheetah jumped onto our land rover while we had the top open. My first reaction was to panic, bu the guide said she was only looking for a higher vista from which to spot prey.my second reaction was to stage a selfie other than the first.

(Part 1 - the intro)

Traveling ✈️ Diving 🤿 and Life 🤷‍♂️
Story time 📖 from Isla Cozumel 🇲🇽
(Part 1 - The Introduction)

Since the local conditions here in Southern California are going to be a soup sandwich 🍜 🥪 with wasabi on top for several months, I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite traveling, diving and life experiences. And of course, these diving life experiences will be accompanied with awesome photos and videos 🤿 🙌

Each day I’ll add another part of the story, along with related photos and / or videos. I’ll explain where I went, why and what was happening in my life at the time. And possibly how this experienced changed me forever.

This first story is of me traveling to Isla Cozumel 🇲🇽 for almost a month during the initial outbreak of COVID (The Ronies 👻). However, at the time, COVID wasn’t on the news yet. And yes, I caught it before it was all the rage.

For this diving trip, I had over 10 planned locations I wanted to explore. Each day was it’s own location exploration. Initially the trip was only supposed to be roughly 15 days. I had planned and trained for this trip for months, which was going to be physically demanding 🤿

This story covers 1 dive. My hopeful finding of two sunken ships right off shore, about a half mile north of the ferry terminal. It was described as “The 2 sunken ships of the Casitas” with very little other information to go off of. But that’s all I needed to add it to the itinerary and start digging for information. My curiosity was sparked, fueled by my imagination and call to action.

The video is where we will end up. At the unnamed sunken ship 1 of an alleged 2. Along the way, I’ll discover an entire new unplanned diving location under the docked boats next to the harbor. This location is filled with fish, corals and sponges under huge cement blocks at the bottom 🪨

Come back tomorrow for part 2 🤿

Cozy Maldives Ocean Screensaver • 1 Hour of crystal-clear turquoise waters for a relaxing weekend evening

Hey cozy community! 🤍

I wanted to share this 1-hour 4K Maldives underwater screensaver I put together. If you're looking to unwind this weekend, calm your mind, or just want to add some peaceful tropical vibes to your room, I hope this helps you relax.

It features continuous, smooth footage of crystal-clear turquoise water, pristine white sand, and beautiful marine life moving in a gentle, hypnotic flow. I paired it with a soft, minimalist ambient track that blends perfectly into the background without being distracting.

It’s perfect to loop on your TV or monitor while reading, studying, wrapping up your Saturday, or drifting off to sleep.

Grab a warm drink, take a deep breath, and enjoy your private window to paradise:https://youtu.be/31IFsxx-4ms?is=5HzI28MiCC1WpimO

I quit my job to film the California Coast with nothing more then my car, some dive gear, and a camera bag. One week later someone didnt make it back...

Hey everyone,

I recently made the terrifying executive decision to leave my 9-to-5 safety net to spend the next few months independently documenting the raw reality of the Pacific ecosystem. No big production budget, no crew—just me, my Mazda, and my camera bag

One week after leaving my job, someone unfortunately didn't make it back from a dive.

I'd love to get your feedback on the entire series.
