6 hour IOG charge limit is understandable

I joined octopus at the end of Jan 2026. I have an Mustang MachE and have always charged it using my 7kwh charger. At the moment I am getting some building work done, so my drive is a bit of a storage space for bricks and other materials, therefore my 7m charging cable wouldn't quite reach my car. So rather than go to a public rapid charger I thought I have an external socket, and a granny charger that will reach. It will take a long time to charge slowly, but I can plug it in every night and that is fine.

I have just plugged it in at 8.30pm, it is at 53% state of charge. The Octopus Agility rate is currently 77.88p per kwh. Because the charge rate is so slow it has assigned me 8.30pm through to 8am, my scheduled departure time, every single slot at the cheap rate and warned me it wont reach my required charge percentage. My cheap rate is 3.5p per kwh. Now my whole house is getting that 3.5p per kwh rate and clearly Octopus will be losing money.

We may not like it, but clearly others have worked this out long before I stumbled on it and have been exploiting it.

Charge Pack With Alpha EES Battery

Anyone else signed up for this with an Alpha EES battery? In the attached screenshot you can see the broken red line at the top is OE sending control codes to the battery. My question is should their be periods of time when no control codes are sent hence creating the broken line?
