Bara Badhu >>>>>>>>

Bara Badhu >>>>>>>>

What a realistic portray of scenarios man !!!! I am feeling like 'Panchayat' is a Fantasy now , Barabadhu is reality except that ' she returns' in the last part I think 😀.

If this film was underperformed in Odisha and didn't get box office result then what could have we say !!!

Couldn't guess Sailendra is such good actor.

A Rant about state of Odia Cinema

A rant. Open for Criticisms.

Odia films are not talked about outside because they only want to cater to the odia audience.

Saw recent film promos. Showing box office numbers, footfalls, etc.

Not much pan India releases.

We are just happy winning a National award for Best Film in "Odia" Category(news articles don't mention)

Nobody talks about the technical stuffs. Editing or Sound. A colour frame is not good cinematography.

And have we ever won in any technical awards?

No OTTs have any content from Odisha.

When would Netflix put money to dub their content into Odia?

Well some(all lol) gets OTT locked by local apps which may have found an audience outside if the producers are well read enough to sell it outside.

🎬 As a New Writer From Odisha, Is There Real Scope in Ollywood for Dark Thriller Stories?

Namaskar everyone.

I’m a young writer from Odisha currently developing a mystery-thriller script deeply rooted in Odia culture — Chilika, Konark, Odia slokas, and themes of karma inspired by the Gita.

The story leans more toward grounded psychological tension and raw action rather than commercial masala. Something atmospheric, emotional, and culturally rooted while still feeling modern.

I’ve watched films like Karma, Malyagiri, Pabar, Daman, Kuhudi, Bou Buttu Bhuta and it genuinely made me wonder where Ollywood is heading creatively.

So I wanted to ask honestly:

Is there currently space in Ollywood for darker, more experimental thriller writing from newcomers?

How do unknown writers usually approach the industry here — through assistants, production houses, competitions, or direct networking?

Are script competitions, film festivals, or cold emails to production banners actually useful in Odisha’s industry ecosystem?

I’m an outsider with no film background or connections, but I’m serious about learning the process properly before making random moves.

Would genuinely appreciate practical advice from anyone who has worked around Odia cinema, writing rooms, or production.

Dhanyabad 🙏

A Silent drop in Between Hyped Films.

In between all Those Hyped Film posters I noticed this one being dropped silently. It looked pretty aesthetic to me. I still listen to the Batare chalu chalu song even today. But do they have any connection to the original song in this film other that Srikant Gautam ?

Bindusagar movie

Why isn't this movie in theatres anymore when there are still shows of Aafaa which was released before it and even Kangula?

Mantra Muugdha BO

As I have said earlier it took day 9 for a good Odia movie to get its highest day collection, our films are completely word of mouth driven, if good it grows with time.
