Hey there, hoping to get some help repairing an OM84 I just bought. I sent this as an email to omnichordheaven so apologies for weird tone, but I wanted to see if anyone here had the same issue. Cheers!

Hello, I was hoping to get in touch about an om84 I recently purchased on ebay. It was sold as not making sound but the indicator light came on. I managed to get some sound out of it by taking apart the two boards at the 3 board connectors and spraying a little de-oxit on the terminals. However, it is not fully functional. It currently functions as described below

-When you select a chord, it will ring out until you turn the unit off, and the auto bass button, when engaged, will make the entire sound fade out to nothing until you disengage it.

-The strumplate works, but the mute button does not

-The rhythm section as a whole does not work

-The chord memory interface does not work, but lights up

-No volume when turning up Voice 2 of the chords (the tremolo voicing)

I hoped you had maybe encountered this issue before and had a solution I could try. I have tried to research it to no avail. If you had any tips or suggestions to try it would be very much appreciated!

I am very excited to show you a project I have been trying to complete for around 7 years. It is a browser based Omnichord loosely modelled on the OM-84. As well as all the normal OM-84 features, it has an old skool drum and acc. programmer, MIDI file player that displays lyrics (from a text file) and scans/plays chords so you just strum. Custom facias as well as preset colours and more. Here are a few images. I’ve recently entered the market for an omnichord but with all the various models and timeframes they were manufactured in it’s hard to pick what i should spend my $600 on. ideally i’m looking for something that could do it all or at least has the most capabilities while still having that vintage analog magic we all love.

I've been the caretaker of this unit for decades but rarely played it. Kept out of sun and smoke-free. Hope to find it a good home.
