drawn lines as outlined vector strokes?

drawn lines as outlined vector strokes?

I am considering purchasing the BOOX Note Max. I would like to open the line drawings in vector editing software like Adobe Illustrator. Are drawn lines built as a vector line where its thickness can be increased or decreased? Or are the drawn lines actually outlined vector paths? Attached is a visual that better demonstrates the difference.

It'd be great if anyone can share where I can download some samples of pdf and svg files with various types of drawn lines. Thanks!

Video games on Palma 2 Pro

So I just got my Palma, was joking with my husband that I could play RuneScape on it. I didn’t think it would work. He was able to beat a boss and it ran great lmaooo

Really bad timing

Last saturday I wanted to buy my first Boox device and e ink device in general: the go 10.3 ii lumi. I had been researching e ink devices for a few weeks and finally decided to buy that one. There is a deal on the shop where you can get a Boox Tappy for free and I got really excited about it. Saturday was a really bad day so I only put those two devices in my shopping cart (image) and decides to buy it on sunday. On Sunday I finally wanted to order it and then saw the Boox Tappy was sold out (in the EU). Now I really regret not buying it on Saturday because now I’m not able to benefit from the sale. I mean I still get the 20€ discout but I wanted to have that tappy device so badly. Now I’m really sad and thinking about whether I should buy the Tablet without Tappy.
Of course I could get the Tappy for 30€ extra but the tablet already exceed my budget limit, so I can’t really get one. And I was only one day too late :(

UPDATE: I‘ve just bought the tablet without the tappy. Yes I‘m sad about it but the tablet is more important. Thanks for your advice everybody :)

About display quality/clarity/comfort

Wondering if someone knowledgable can help me understand.

I don't know the technical details 100%, but from direct experience:

Kobo Clara bw's display compared to the Boox Page is so much better, I almost can't describe it. So much crisper, much less ghosting, so much more comfortable on the eyes. I feel a bit... queasy/tired? after long sessions on the Page.

Is it he panel (Carta 1200 vs 1300)?

Is it the recessed screen (no plastic lens over the display)?

Is it the actually orange warm light vs the greenish one?

Is it the front light tech and its frequency? I know some people have sensitivity to this on phones and other devices and have to pick models accordingly.

Is it software/firmware quality somehow, also affecting things like refresh rate and other factors?

My experience is just that reading the same book, using koreader, on each device, is so massively nicer on the Kobo that the Boox

I understand that on paper they should be the more or less the same (?) but my experience is they are definitely not. What's going on?

LED on my Boox go 7 is bad, do I exchange it?

I got this BOOX Go 7 color (gen 2) literally yesterday and I was using it in the morning just fine. I left it for 6 hours and came back to a rectangle on the side (Only when the backlight is on). Read that this was a thing on this model.
Do I refund/exchange, or is it not worth the hassle? Does it spread over time?

(Also I havent dropped it or anything I actually just left for a bit and it started doing that.)

Magnetic case

Finally! I found a case on Amazon that is clear back and removable magnetic cover. I didn't even have to cut notches into the case to help it fit onto the ereader. I had this for about a week and absolutely love it. I have a color go 7 gen 1, but should work for gen 2 also.

Boox go 10.3 gen 2 Lumi or Boox note air 5c

Hi, I am looking to buy an E ink paper notepad for general work and engineering design and I was wondering whether I should go for the 10.3 lumi or the air 5C.

I already have an iPad Pro 11 second GEN but the writing feel on it is horrible.
Which one would you recommend?

According to the view, I have watched the 5C is almost un-functionable if the back light has been turned off and the white color of the background feels more muted so that’s one of my concern. Another one of my concern is writing feel because I wanted to feel like paper. Last concern is the durability of the screen because I’ve heard some Youtubers said that the 10.3 screen is very prone to scratching.

Thankyou👍🏻😭

Moving to BookOrbit and KOReader - anyone using it?

So recently I stumbled upon a post about BookOrbit and as I have a NAS I didnaet it up today. App seems really nice and adds info for books I have. It also has a plugin for KOReader and here the problem starts - I really like the NeoReader and that it integrates properly with the Boox Go 7 Gen 2 I have. I like that I have all the books on main go screen and don't have to open any extra apps. This is where the KOReader problem kicks in :/ it's ugly (ok there are UI plugins but it's a pain to upload them. Maybe not a pain but).

Does anyone of you use this setup, or just KOReader and what's the best workflow that makes it all super simple - I want to read books not to tweak yet another device :)

Did BOOX EURO Shop send an invoice by email?

Hi everyone,

I purchased a BOOX Go 7 B&W from the BOOX EURO Shop, and I can't for the life of me find the invoice. I usually keep all my purchase invoices, but I don't remember receiving one for this order via email.

I really need it now. Does anyone know how BOOX warranty claims work? Is an invoice required, or can the purchase and warranty be verified using the device's serial number?

I also purchased a Note Air 4C from the same store and can't find an invoice for that order either. This makes me wonder whether BOOX actually sends invoices by email or if order confirmations are the only documents they provide.

If you have purchased from the BOOX EURO Shop, did you receive a separate invoice by email? If so, what was it called, and who sent it?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Vertical stripes appeared out of nowhere

Usually the tablet's screen sleeps after 10 minutes of inactivity, but this morning when I arrived at work, i realised the screen didn't go off for the night and some weird vertical stripes appeared. Issue not solved after refresh and power off.

Ereader w note-taking

After extensive research I had decided to get a BOOX go 6 gen II with a stylus, but I am hesitant due to it running on Android 11. I am concerned that eventually the apps won't run well as it is an older version. So my next best bet was getting the Go7 gen II as it runs on a more updated Android version but the stylus apparently isn't as responsive on that one. I was considering getting a bigme but seems like despite the better specs, the OS isn't as polished and the battery peeformance is lower.

I would like a small device (6 or 7in)

Not phone ratio

Color e ink

Mild stylus use

I do not care much about sound

I want to read books on the kindle app, pdfs and looking into other apps.

I want to also use it for notes/some mild organization stuff like to do list, etc.

Any advice?

Worth getting this fixed?

Seeking anecdotes from people who got their Boox tablets fixed after damage.

Genuinely heartbroken. I have no idea how this happened. I keep it in a case, didn't throw it around or smash it. Time and date is frozen to a moment from yesterday. I paid nearly $500 for this thing and used it daily over the last 6 months.

I can't justify spending more than $150. I feel like I should just get some android tablet situation and use that for reading and annotating PDFs.

I feel like a fool!

Help me choose my first BOOX: PDF annotating, evening reading, and some note taking.

Adviceeeeeeeee neeeded;)

I am looking to buy my first BOOX device, but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options (Note Air5 C, Go Color 7 Gen II or Go 10,3 lumi) and could really use some advice based on my specific use. I wanted to go with a more budget friendly device, but now I don't know if I need a bigger screen or color, or both. And I would love to have a stylus.

Here is what I am planning to do with the device:

  • Reading & Annotating PDFs: I will be reading a lot of PDFs, highlights/marking them up, and writing down occasional notes directly on the documents.
  • Third-party Apps: I want to use a specific local digital library app (Storytel) rather than being locked into the standard Kindle or Kobo ecosystem.
  • Evening Reading: I love to read in bed at night, so a built-in frontlight/backlight is an absolute must-have for me.

I also have one specific question regarding color vs. monochrome screens: Is color really important or necessary for taking notes and highlighting PDFs? I mostly read text-based documents, but I am unsure if missing out on different highlighter colors (yellow, green, blue) will negatively impact the study/note-taking experience. Or that I need color for graphs.

Given these needs, which BOOX model would be the absolute best fit for me?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Boox new releases

There are reports and leaks point to four new international BOOX devices in development: the BOOX Palma 3, BOOX Note Air6 C, BOOX Note Mini C, and a new flagship model called the BOOX Tab Elite. Who has more details? I heard the BOOX note Mini C may be an 7.8 or 8inch device.

How fragile is Boox Go 7 Colour?

I know it's a dumb question but I just bought one and see a lot of people breaking theirs so I don't know if they aren't handling it with care or if it's fragile. Should I get a case for it? If so should I get the official magnetic cover case or something sturdier? What do you use?

Onyx boox note Air

Survived two drops!!

I am NOT recommending dropping your Boox but I did have a recent incident where both my Note Air 5c and Go 7 (bw) unfortunately fell off a bench onto a tile floor and survived unscathed. They were both in their Boox magnetic cases and fell flat, mostly. About 2 feet. Having heard reports about how these things are babied and nonetheless shatter in backpacks and cases, I was so happy to see mine come out just fine. Just want to share my experience. I am embarrassed to say it happened again. I learned my lesson and keep them safe in the table top now 😬.
