It's so adorable!

I'm really obsessed with this lil' buddy! It's perfect!

I had been waiting for it for so long, and it fully lived up to my expectations! I don't give a damn thing about Android 11 and only 3 Gb of RAM - this little guy is incredibly snappy and has a crisp screen. It’s been two weeks since I bought it, and I can’t stop - I’m devouring books and comics on it.

I’ve handled many Onyx Boox e-readers, but I think this particular device is one I’ll be holding onto for years to come. <3

Gen II owners, what are your impressions? Please share!

Boox go 7 B&W screen gets noticeably darker and muddier after the V4.2 update.

Hi, I just updated to 4.2 recently and noticed the screen has a lesser crisp white on it. The words and backgrounds seems muddy and I would like to know if anyone notice the same issue as I did?

May I know if boox team will fix it with the later updates?

Boox Go 6 Gen II Question

Hi all, I own a Boox Go 6 Gen I and am considering an upgrade. If you own a Boox Go 6 Gen II, can you please comment on the texture of the back? I also own a Boox Palma 1, and I love the paperlike texture on the back of that. Was wondering how the Go 6 II fares in comparison. Thanks very much in advance!

Go 7 or Go 6 Gen II?

Which is better? Strangely, Go 6 Gen II is newer, but the android version is older.
Also, I prefer B&W to color and want a frontlight, but I think both these devices satisfy that criteria.

bigme hibreak color and boox palma

trying to decide between the two and i’m not sure which is more suitable for me? i heard a lot of ppl complaining about ghosting being really bad on boox palma but the overall system is better on boox than it is on the bigme hibreak? i’m not really tech savvy so i don’t know how important this would be. but i’m a pretty faster reader if that’s useful info.

i’d be using this alongside my phone not as a replacement. my intended use is for reading novels, manhwas, mangas and prob stuff for class when the time comes. i was able to find pre-owned versions of both that are in a price range im willing to pay but im just stuck between which one now

Palma 2 Pro as a near-daily phone in Germany - VoLTE, SMS and banking questions before I buy

I'm in Germany (Aachen) and thinking about a Palma 2 Pro, mainly to scroll less and read more, but I'd also like it to handle the basics of a phone so I can rely on it. I've read the community tips (including the Kisuke-CZE GitHub guide about native calls and SMS since the December 2025 firmware, and forcing VoLTE via Pixel IMS or Magisk), so I know the theory. What I want is real-world confirmation from German owners before I commit.

My setup and requirements:

Country: Germany. 3G is shut down here, 2G is still up, so calls rely on VoLTE.

I'll use my existing German carrier SIM (physical nano-SIM) for data and SMS.

Banking: Sparkasse S-pushTAN, which works over data/push, not SMS. This has to work reliably.

I need to reliably receive SMS 2FA codes from other services.

I want incoming calls to ring reliably, including when the screen is asleep. I'm fine using a VoIP number (satellite) plus call-forwarding as a fallback if native calling isn't dependable.

I'd prefer to avoid rooting, so banking and Play Integrity keep working.

I'm technical, so a fiddly setup is fine.

Questions:

Does VoLTE work natively on the Palma 2 Pro on Telekom, Vodafone or O2 (or their MVNOs)?

Or did you have to force it with the Pixel IMS app? Which carrier or MVNO just worked?

If you forced VoLTE with the Pixel IMS app (no root), does it hold up day to day, or is re-applying after every reboot too annoying? Did anyone get permanent VoLTE without rooting?

With VoLTE (or Wi-Fi calling) active, do incoming calls ring reliably when the screen is off? The guide says 2G-only plus sleep means missed calls — does VoLTE fully solve that for you?

Do 2FA and bank SMS codes arrive reliably on German networks, including when the device is asleep?

Do Sparkasse pushTAN and other German banking apps run and pass integrity checks on the Palma? Do the push notifications arrive reliably after setting the app to unrestricted/autostart/stay-in-background? Any German banking apps that flat-out refuse?

Which dialer and SMS app combo works best on German carriers (Fossify, Amadz, Google Dialer/Messages)?

Does Wi-Fi calling (VoWiFi) work on any German carrier as a fallback for calls?

Any German-specific gotchas I should know before ordering? I'll buy from Amazon.de so I can test and return within the window.

Thanks in advance — trying to work out if this can be my main device or just a very good reader alongside my normal phone.

Moving a file from Downloads folder on BOOX Note Max.

On my BOOX Note Max running Rel. 4.2, I have downloaded a file with Google Drive to a folder called 'Downloads'. I would like to move that file to Folder in my Bookshelf called 'AI and NLP'. Everything that I have tried fails. Google Gemini suggests many things to try, but nothing works. I tried an "X-plore" app, but I can't navigate with it to where I need to be. Surely, there is a way to move a file from one place to another. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

Help me decide

I’m considering a Go 10.3 Lumi for note-taking during sermons (with a split screen Bible) and Bible study. I would also use it as my Kindle and to replace the numerous notepads I have for todo lists, journaling, etc. Not sure I can justify the price for those things, so wondering what the opinions of others are, or if there’s so much more I can do that I don’t know about. TIA!

I really think this is the best portable eink device...

I got a few eink devices such as Boox Go 7 BW, Bigme B7 Pro, Boox Palma 2, Boox Go 6 gen 2, Boox Note Air 5C...

And I still think the best of the group is still Boox Go 6 gen 2 for its size and portability and its new added feature: note taking

It just makes reading all the more convenient and easiness.

Thank you Boox.

Note: if you can add LTE/sim card support, it will be almost perfect!

Boox Note Max; good experiences after the most recent updates?

Hi everyone, I'm really interested in buying the boox note max for studying. My main desire is to write notes over text books; whether this be in little dialog boxes or a split page linked document, either one would work well for me. I've been struggling to find user opinions on the note max after the most recent update; as I understand, 4.1 was a tad borked; what about 4.2? Any good? I'd also like to use it as a large e reader, though that would be its secondary function, and finally as a note taker. The reason I'm after this and not, say, something like a remarkable or a supernote is the screen size, as boox is pretty much it for the 13" space.

Edit: Thank you for the responses :)

Go Color 7 Gen II stuck on charging screen (and Boox support failing!)

My Go Color & Gen II has been stuck on this screen for a week now. I've tried every solution mentioned on the internet.

I'm assuming there's no secret trick that hasn't been published anywhere. But what's really annoying is that BOOX support page isn't there! I keep getting a 404 for the past few days at the linked support page: https://help.boox.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hoping I might be able to get some support here. My Boox was bought 13 months ago. Honestly I've loved it, and if it's failed I was thinking I'd probably just buy another one. But when a company's support page has disappeared it doesn't seem like a good idea to buy anything from them.

Simple needs: Air Note 5c vs Go 10.3 Gen II, or other...

My needs are pretty simple

 1. reading books/EPUBs on calibre for fun

 2. reading medical PDFs, annotating, highlighting, and exporting those notes

 3. Easy access to an app that allows me to highlight within books or PDFs and have it immediately open into a wikipedia webpage and/or just show a dictionary definition

Do I need the Air Note 5c, or can all of this just as quickly and easily be done on the Go 10.3 Gen II, or is a different device (even different brand), more suited to these needs? Or, is the Air Note 6c close enough that I should wait?

New Note Max generation upcoming?

I was about to pull the trigger on the Note Max when I saw it is a couple of years old and appears to not be restocked anymore.

So I’m holding out for a new generation or a comparable other device. Are there any rumours about a new version, can’t seem to find anything?

I already own a Boox Note 5 which really is over the hill and a Tab Mini C which still works great for casual reading. The Max would be an upgrade of the Note 5 and mainly for reading and annotating PDF’s
