Starting my AOS army with some shrooms on a trip. So far I have painted a squig herd (because who doesn't like some squigs) and a loonboss. Next up is some troggoths and then my stabbas 🍄

Elysian green is such a great orc skin tone, why’d it take me this long to use it?!

The image shows three different tests I’ve done while trying to develop a pale skin recipe for my Orcs. I’d really appreciate your opinions and any advice on how I could improve the result.

The process I’m currently using is:

Abaddon Black primer.

Rakarth Flesh, applied until I get an even and opaque basecoat.

Carroburg Crimson wash, applied only into the muscle folds and recesses.

Once the wash is dry, I clean up any areas where the pigment has pooled or become too strong.

Finally, I mix Rakarth Flesh + Pallid Wych Flesh 1:1 and apply a very light drybrush over the skin to pick out the raised areas.

I’m aiming for a very pale, slightly unhealthy/cold-looking skin tone, rather than the traditional green Orc skin.

What would you change or add to make the skin look better?
Any tips are welcome!

Finished just in time for a hobby competition. Azhag on Skullmuncha, with a big boss, river troll and some converted arrerboyz. The big boss used the 40k runtherd as a base model, while the river troll is a rescue model that needed a new head and weapon. The Arrerboyz use parts from both Orc and Orc Boyz. Their bows are from the savage boyz kit.

Played another game of Old World on the Realm of Battle board.

This time it was my Empire vs Night Goblins.

My first 2 turns of shooting with my cannons and Helblaster were hyper-successful, and even a late game rally by the night goblins (thanks to Fanatics) was not quite enough. Slight victory for The Empire of Man.

So doom diver Lenny is almost done. I have no clue how I want to do a base though. Im using it in Mordheim, after misplacing it's original warband and catapult crew, it just chucks itself out a third story window. Any suggestions for a base are welcome.

My little guy, Kobold. He calls himself the prince of all goblins, but nobody really believes that, not even other goblins. He’s a pretty decent barbarian and thief tho.

This will be my last post on this subreddit for a few months or even years as I ran out of painted units of my army to show you. This is a unit with loads of self sculpted minis but also various GW squigs.

There are some half- and unpainted greenskin models left in my collection but this is our goodbye for a while. You guys here were really supportive and I would like to give something back, but I have no idea what...

Next will be some dwarf units, that I srill have to take photos of, and then I will start posting pics of my self sculpted dwarfs, that I want to create a mini range of, if you are interested in that kind of stuff.

Finally done with my Bonegrinder Giant (model from Mantic Games). Really happy with the way he came out. But....

What are your experiences running a Bonegrinder in your games? Will he just be shot to pieces, or does he actually accomplish anything other than making sure the enemies cannons, magic missiles, bolt throwers aren't shooting at anything else.

Really hoping for him to do well - the attack chart he comes with is imo out of this world funny and characterful.

It's a Ork from a series that I'll be releasing in September from our GrimSpoil Line Enjoy.

This one took a while! So many hours edge highlighting all that armour.. Includes a unit filler, a loaded wagon making sure the boys have all the weapons they need.

Finally got the leaders of all painted up and ready to go! Been really pushing myself to work on my free handing on the banners here.

As the title says, does anyone know how specifically the highlands miniatures goblins compare to GW models, orcs and goblins both?

Here's no. 4! I was going to put a shield in the left hand, but the pose looked a bit awkward, so I decided a two-handed weapon worked better. Sculpting hands is challenging, but I welcome it. Looking at it, I think I might still want to bulk up the left one before painting. The straps holding the gut plate looked fairly modern so I removed them and extended the plate up to the chest. I also removed the leg strap holding the ammo pouch.
