Bullseye Beauty!

Got my first Oris yesterday and it’s absolutely gorgeous! Originally expected a 2-4 week delay for shipping but they must have found one in stock because I got a shipment confirmation the following day! The finishing is superb and I love all the small details like the coin edge bezel, the small markers at each numeral, and of course the pointer date! Perfect blend of vintage vibes and modern style. Only downside is the 19mm lug width. I have a plethora of 18mm and 20mm but no 19mm straps at home so unfortunately can’t swap around to anything I currently own.

Oris bracelet?

I have no experience with Oris bracelets but it looks like a Seiko bracelet that came in a Seiko I have. Can anyone offer insight? Sorry, best pictures i have of it…

Looking for replacement strap options

Looking for suggestions on replacement straps. Anyone know of a white cut to size option? All suggestions welcomed. Other color options as well.

My first Oris

The Big Crown Bronze Pointer date was one of the first pieces to ever grace my collection wishlist. Picked up a nicely patina’d piece this week, and I am in love!

The dial is much more dynamic than expected, which is nice. It can masquerade as a deep purple depending on the light.

Tossed on this old Zulu Diver strap I had laying around, kind of a neat combo. The bronze bracelet is great, but I’m thinking of finding a burgundy NATO with bronze hardware as a secondary strap.

What are some straps you love on yours?

[Help decide] is the Calibre 400 movement really worth the premium price over the regular Aquis?

Pretty new to watches but love Oris

I don’t feel like spending 23-2500 on a new pointer date. What do you think about a 90s model from eBay?

Came home from a work trip to find this waiting for me

My wife surprised me with this Oris Big Crown Wings of Hope limited-edition when I got home from a work trip, and she absolutely nailed it.

I’ve always liked the Big Crown design, but this one really got me—the clean white dial, pale green numerals and lume, oversized crown, small seconds with that tiny pop of red, and the five-day movement. There’s a lot going on when you really look at it, but somehow the whole thing still feels incredibly clean and restrained.

I also love the strap. The natural leather gives it an almost vintage field-watch feel that works perfectly with the dial.

I have a fairly eclectic collection, but this is my first Oris, and I’m seriously impressed by it. The finishing and overall character are fantastic, and it feels like one of those watches that is going to get better and more personal the more I wear it.

Of course, the fact that my wife picked it out and surprised me with it makes this one pretty damn special regardless.

Not a bad thing to come home to.

21mm lug width on Oris Diver 65 42mm is more of a pro than con

I've been wearing my Oris 65 mostly on it's OEM bracelet but recently it started to feel a bit big, so before selling it I decided to check something... Turns out due to it being 21mm lug width both 20mm and 22mm work reasonably well. While on the strap watch head feels significantly smaller and more wearable.

Oris is my vice

Popped into OBL yesterday to see a rather lovely new watch we can’t discuss and didn’t leave empty handed.
I really enjoy how Oris challenges my preconceptions for example; I don’t like divers watches but somehow I now have 8. I don’t like skeleton watches but something about the PPX makes this one acceptable. In truth it ticks 2 more boxes having an in-house movement and being titanium.

My John Coltrane.

I’ve had her since 2015. My father got her in 2013 and she was passed onto me. I’ve never actually worn her. She has a domed crystal which makes the face look like a gradient black to blue. Around the outer edge is a subtle blue minute track, a tribute to John Coltrane’s legendary album Blue Train. In certain lighting, that blue ring really pops, while in other lighting it nearly disappears. It’s number 917 of 1000.
