Sarah should’ve died

Am I the only one that thinks Sarah should’ve died in Season 2? Her & John B relationship is literally the least interesting thing about the show. Even Rafe had a better storyline. They let her live through numerous situations in which she should’ve died and it’s annoying. They were so afraid to kill her off that they turned her into a teen mom instead. Now she’s about to be even more insufferable in the last season.

This post isn’t for the Sarah Stan’s btw. The ones that like their relationship bc of their looks. This is for the ppl that actually watched & analyzed the show.

Finally finished the season

I finally finished Season 4. I watched all the other seasons when they originally came out but never got around to Season 4. I already knew >!JJ dies!< because TikTok spoiled it for me months ago.

Even though I knew it was coming I was still sobbing. Like full on ugly crying lol. So much happened in those last 3 episodes and I honestly thought it was such a good finale.

Side note but Rudy Pankow absolutely killed it. The scene where JJ was destroying the town was so good. It actually reminded me a little of Harley Quinn because he really sold the crazy. I don’t know how else to explain it but he completely committed to it and it was so fun to watch.

And Madison Bailey too that scene where Kiara >!realizes JJ isn’t going to make it and she starts trembling absolutely did it for me. You could literally feel the panic and heartbreak.!< It was so well acted.

The part that got me the most though is that all JJ ever wanted was a family and people to love him. >!After everything he went through he ends up getting killed by his own biological father.!< That’s actually insane.

I knew it was coming and I still cried like a baby. 😭

My wife asked about the show.

I'm not your typical target audience for it. I'm 63. I originally watched it because I have been vacationing in OBX since the 1970s.

After my wife and I were married in 1988, we moved to Virginia Beach and I introduced her to the Outer Banks. We've been visiting ever since.

Because of that, I started watching the show even though NC screwed up and it's not filmed there. I got hooked. I just finished a complete rewatch ahead,of the new season.

Anyway, she asked me to describe it, so I told her it's like the Dawson's Creek of the 2020s.

What's your description?

ACTUAL unpopular opinions?

I feel like every time there's an "unpopular opinions" thread, it's just people saying things everyone already agrees with. I want the real hot takes that usually get downvoted.

Mine is that I really don't like Jiara. I think they were way better as friends, and I miss the Season 1 vibe when the Pogues were just a tight-knit group of friends on a treasure hunt instead of everyone coupling up.

But I want to hear yours! What is an opinion you have about a character, a ship, a plotline, or a specific season that would have the entire fandom arguing?

What are your favorite what if’s?

Mine is what if John b and Sarah never got together?, or what if they never explored the boat in the first episode?

I’ll be curious to hear what you guys think.

Jj and Luke

If you hadn’t watched Season 4 this I’ll spoil it for you:

>!How do you think Luke’s reaction to jj dying will be? I know there’s been rumors that he’s not in the new season, but I refuse to believe that. It’s an extremely idiotic decision, if that’s what!< >!they’re!< >!gonna be doing.!<

>!Like his “son” can’t just die and he’s never mentioned, no way.!<

>!Their relationship is so weird, luke is horrible to him and beats him up, and cares more about money than he does his own son, but then again he took him from Groff, and seemed to be alright with him when he was a kid from the one flashback we got.!<

>!There’s this moment towards the end of season 1, when Jj’s gonna steal the keys to the phantom, Luke wakes up drunk or high or both, and he has this little “soft” moment with Jj, and says he’s hard on him because sometimes he sees his mother in him, and it gets him tweaked. Larissa, he sees Larissa in jj. I wonder if they actually had a relationship beyond him being her mechanic. Because he seems really connected to her.!<

>!That, or he’s referring to an ex girlfriend. Idk.!<

>!Either way, his reaction will be one of the things I’ll be looking forward most in season 5, if we don’t get it I don’t even know. I’m probably not gonna be watching the season all the way through, anyway.!<

RAFE AND KIARA BEING TOGETHER BY THE END OF THE SEASON.

I'm sure many others have already asked my question, but how possible do u think it is seeing them interact romantically with each other this S?

If it was me,i would go with a slow burn route and maybe have them kiss in the last episode on the epilogue part,so Kiara has time to grieve JJ,and to solidify that they would be together in the future.

Explain the show but without spoilers

Hi, I’m thinking of watching the show and my sister told me I should, try to tell me the plot, but without spoilers. Or just rate season /10 so I know what one to look out for. Just no spoilers and lmk what I should know before I get into it

John b, jj, and grief

Jj dying is obviously gonna be hard on Kiara, they clearly are gonna focus a lot on that, with how the teaser looked. But it’s gonna be really horrible on John b too, which is also obvious but like, god.

Best friends since the third grade, brothers, and then he just lost him. How tragic is that. What do you even do after something like that happening to you? How could you ever move on?

I’m glad they look like they’re gonna be making them grieve. Because I genuinely thought with how the pates are, it’s gonna be like half an episode of being sad, then it’s “Jj wouldn’t want this”, and it’s like nothing ever happened. Honestly, it could very much still go that way, but who knows.

Personally, I know I’d probably never ever get over that kind of death. And I know most people wouldn’t either, like that’s the realistic thing, to grieve. But when has outer banks ever been realistic? They pick and choose. They seem to stop at weird lines and not others.

I’ve seen Maddison say that this season has a different tone than others, because they’re dealing with a loss. I hope that’s true. It would be one thing for them to just be sad for half an episode and move on if it’s anybody else, but it’s jj. And they’d shown us 4 full seasons of his relationships with everyone.

Of course they can’t be sad forever, but I don’t think it’s fair that after all that, they just grieve him for a little. If that’s what ends up happening best believe I’m not gonna watch the season.

Rewatch time

Every summer I rewatch OBX, anyone else? Even though I know almost what happens, I still notice different things but i’m always entertained regardless.

I really can’t believe it’s going to be over soon :/

edit: i’ve always wondered what’s the music that plays so many times during the show (for reference S1 EP1 timestamp 34:03) i’ve never been able to find it

Usually i just turn some random youtube video on tv to sleep, but last night it wouldnt work for some reason. Since youtube wouldnt work i went to netflix and thought i'd check out Outer Banks. I binge watched the whole first season last night and i plan on doing the same with season 2 tonight. This show is so addicting AND a new season is coming out in a couple months. This couldn't be better!!!
