New outlook making my 9-5 unbearable

In a corporate position.

Receive about 200 emails a day. Sorting by subject on the new outlook is so incredibly bulky. Trying to attach other emails to a current email- nightmare.

It is just so dis functional, my old outlook keeps freezing due to having about 95Gb of my 100gb inbox full so have been forced to move over.

It’s just so frustrating trying to do anything. I quite literally am only getting through half my daily workload currently due to a horrible non smooth transition.

Also annoying that when I first tired the new outlook every couple of months and would give feedback to Microsoft when they ask why you want to switch back to outlook and I made comments about certain functions, no changes have been made.

I can’t be the only one this is stressing out on the daily, any tips and tricks please? 🙏

Was it ever possible to change your email address username?

This is going back to 2009/2010.

One of my school friends helped me set up my hotmail email address back in 2009, even suggesting the password I should use. I remember being able to log in just fine for at least 6 months but then I started getting invalid email address/password when attempting to log in. I tried for quite a few years to recover the email, to no avail.

A couple of years ago I scrolled all the way to the bottom of my mum’s sent emails and found one clearly directed at me, I wanted to determine whether I had misremembered the email address rather than forgotten the password. When looking at the recipient, the address username was my school friend’s.

When I’ve googled this before, it normally states that it could have gotten the address confused with another contact; however, I can say with absolute conviction that my mum would not have ever had my friend as a contact.

I’m still confused as to how this could have happened, did she change the username of the email address and then the password so I could never get back in?

I built a free local Thunderbird / mbox → PST converter looking for feedback

Hey everyone,

I’m an MSP technician, and I kept running into the same annoying migration problem: users had years of mail sitting in Thunderbird, Gmail Takeout exports, old POP accounts, exported Local Folders, or random .mbox archives and the path into Outlook / Microsoft 365 was usually either paid closed-source software or awkward Outlook automation.

So I built ContinuMail Converter, a free and open-source Windows tool that converts Thunderbird profiles and .mbox archives into Outlook .pst files.

Repo: https://github.com/ContinuMail/continumail-converter

It converts Thunderbird profiles and standalone .mbox archives into Outlook PST files, locally, without uploading anything or needing Outlook installed.

The big difference: it writes PST files directly with a from-scratch PST engine, instead of using the usual slow Outlook COM automation workaround, or paid SDK's.

t keeps the important stuff: folder structure, HTML bodies, attachments, dates, recipients, threading headers, and Thunderbird state like read/unread, replied/forwarded, starred, junk, and tags where profile metadata is available. Tags become Outlook categories.

I hope someone can find this usefull and i'd appricate all and any feedback.

How do you create an account?

The press and hold verification doesn't work on browser or the mobile app so how are you supposed to make an account?

Outlook inbox refuses to load images.

Hey all,

For the last week or so, I've noticed outlook refuses to load inline-images within my inbox.

Here are some examples:

Example 1

Example 2

I've noticed this more specifically with emails from reddit.

Any suggestions? The default "Always use Outlook service to load images" is turned on. This used to not be an issue.

Hacker changed email to *investify.pw*?

One of my childhood emails got hacked and they changed the recovery email to something that ends with "investify.pw"

So basically it's ********@investify.pw. I have no association to that email nor do I know what that is. I can't find anything about that domain name. Anyone any ideas? I tried recovering with microsoft but their AI doesn't listen.

That verification method isn't working right now. What can I do?

I'm struggling with trying to reset my Outlook account's password. When I try to reset it, the two options for 2FA are the exact same, they are both the phone number linked to the account.

When I do the first one, it works fine, it then explains due to 2FA I need to use another method as well, the only remaining one being the exact same option again. Then when I do it the second time, it doesn't work, and I am told that method doesn't work and to try another - but it doesn't provide me with any other options!

I have all the methods available to prove the account is mine, it just doesn't let me!

I waited 48 hours to try again and the first verification of my number worked, but as soon as I do the second one, im told that method doesn't work and then I can't try again at all with either for 24 hours without getting "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method".

What can i do to reset my password? There is no option to speak to someone from Microsoft as their agents cannot send password reset links or change any account details.

Is there any hope?

SCARY, MY FULL NAME (FIRST MIDDLE LAST) IS SHOWING!!!

Hi just now whise on the outlook email search bar, I just pressed the wrong key / letter on my keyboard & my Full name including 1st, middle & last name, came up next to my email address

this is super worrying because I use this email for a lot of junk mail / & as a sign up email address, but it aso has some important things like my investment trading 212 account, so it has a mixture of important & non important contacts

& I am very concenred about this because I have always used alais & not put any person details......I am a very private person & quite tech savy, but I cant figure out how to remove my name from my email....

I tried different obvious things ( account seetings / prvacy settings) but they *only show my alias name / email name, please how do I delete it permanty from records...

this is disgusting.

.................................................................................................................

Also, is it possible that one of my contacts (exaple : my mum) used my name on their side hence it showing up?

Thank you..

Outlook classic 2019

Aiuto

Outlook emails going to people's spam folder

I've been helping someone who's emails from their Outlook address have recently been ending up in the recipients spam folder.

She has a abcdef@abcdef.com and a abcdef@outlook.com email address. The abcdef@abcdef.com was recently compromised and was used to send spam. She had the password changed and is back in control of it now, but now emails from her abcdef@outlook.com address now go straight to spam, even though it was never compromised.

I sent a test email from abcdef@outlook.com to my google address and marked it as not spam. A second test email wasn't flagged as spam. She also has a ghijkl@google.com address which she uses in the same email client as her outlook address. I sent an email to myself from that address and it didn't go to spam.

I regret not sending an email between her address while I had the chance. I'll make a point of doing that next time.

She is planning to move away from abcdef@abcdef.com and instead make abcdef@outlook.com her main address. Can she do anything to remove her outlook address from spam filters?

She is using the Outlook desktop app in Windows 11.

Thank you.

Can't log in without a passkey?

I've always used my phone's outlook app to access my email. I decided to use my computer this time, but it says I need a passkey. Either insert a USB flash drive or a QR code. When I use the QR code, it says "No passkeys available". How am I supposed to get a passkey to enter my email that used the correct username and password, as well as being accessed already through my phone? This isn't some CIA email, it is freaking Outlook.

Incorrect Password BUT ITS CORRET!

I've been trying to sign in to my Outlook account using the same password I've used FOR YEARS, but it keeps telling me it's incorrect.

Even though I know the password is correct, I click "Forgot password," have the verification code sent to my recovery email, and enter it. Then I'm asked to verify my identity with my phone. I enter the last four digits of my phone number and submit, only to get the message: "This verification method isn't working right now."

After trying so many times yesterday, I wasn't able to try again until today. And today I immediately got another "Too many attempts. Please try again tomorrow."

Seriously, what a terrible system. I NEED TO ACCESS MY EMAIL, and I simply can't. As soon as I manage to get back into my account, I'm switching to another email provider. I can't risk going through something like this ever again.

How can hackers change security info without starting 30-days security period ?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering moving to Outlook but I'm quite afraid of all the posts from people being hacked and not having any mean of recovering their account...

According to Microsoft :

>When all security info is removed from a Microsoft account, the account is put into a restricted state for 30-days.

Questions :

  1. Some people have had all their security info changed, even their primary alias used to connect. And yet there wasn't any 30-days security period. Why ?

  2. If I enable 2FA and the hacker changes all the security info but one, then I won't be able to login, right (need 2 factors) ? So no 30-days period in that case but I'm still screwed, right ?

  3. During the 30-days period, can I still log in using the old (removed) security info ? If no, what's the point of this security period ?

  4. Is changing the password considered a removal of one security info and therefore could trigger the 30-days period (if all others info are removed) ?

  5. Does the account recovery form from Microsoft website ask for any credit card used as payment option in the account ? (although we can't rely on that form if 2FA was enabled, by us or by a hacker...)

Thank you in advance

Why am i asked to enable location suddenly ? While opening emails from trusted sources ?

https://ibb.co/4zgYmcJ

This started happening since last week..
Get a prompt to enable Location for mails received via trusted email addresses.
Almost most of them give the prompt to enable location.

No changes have been done to system or location settings.

Edition: Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2
Outlook version: 1.2026.617.600

Posted on MS forums too, but waiting for reply as this is becoming tiring to close that pompt with every new email.

Best way to move 32GB archive from one Exchange mailbox to another?

Hi everyone,

I’ve used Outlook’s PST export/import feature many times in the past, and it usually worked fine.

However, during my last migration (IMAP → Exchange), something went wrong. For some reason, the PST export/import didn’t include all emails. It became a mess I had to export and import multiple times just to recover most of the missing emails on the new mail provider.

Now I need to move an Archive folder (32 GB) from one Exchange mailbox to another Exchange mailbox. Both mailboxes are under the same domain, just different email addresses.

My question:

Would you still recommend using the classic Outlook PST method (export to PST, add the second mailbox in Outlook, then import into the target mailbox)?

Or is there a better / safer way for Exchange → Exchange migration to avoid missing emails again?

Thanks alot!

HOW CAN I CHAT WHEN I CANT SIGN IN!!!! How can I do literally anything when I can't sign in?

WTF! Like literally, W.T.F. I need a live person to speak with. I can't use the app, my sign in methods won't work. My phone number has apparently fallen out of my account. Nothing works, literally nothing. This is beyond frustrating. I can't reset my password, no 2FA.

I'm a Vet and all my VA information, documents, appointments, all go to this fucking email and I can't access it. And I can't get a live person to help because I literally can't sign in. CANT SIGN IN! How much more information do you people need?

I can't even use the recovery options, because I have 2FA turned on. FUCK ME! SERIOUSLY?

I am beyond annoyed at this point. Microsoft, you are fucking with my LIFE right now.

Missing Holidays on the Outlook US Calendar

Can someone confirm I am not going crazy. A user just noticed several US holidays are not showing in 2027, 2028, and so on. After digging, this applies to all users and they are - MLK, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Thanksgiving.

The one thing that stands out is that these are all holidays that don't have a specific date and are "floating" holidays depending on how the certain day of the month falls. I am assuming Microsoft must not add these holidays to the calendar until a certain point (why is beyond me), but I can't find anything that states that.

Just hoping someone else has come across this and found evidence before or can at least confirm they see the same thing. I have come up with no other Reddit or forum posts. We are running O365 and see this in both Outlook desktop client and OWA.
