Finally Did it! Pt. 2

I am back from another crazy grind! Finished my Overwatch afterstory on DPS and did it with Hanzo only! I did get target banned in one game, played Ashe, and had a leaver in said game. All in all, no regrets with my Overwatch journey. Happy to call myself the best solo Hanzo on NA ^_^

Gaming4hope buys a cosmetic bundle 🤯

G4H has seemingly reverted his anti-cosmetic stance on video games and has purchased his first OW cosmetic. In fact, it was a bundle, which he already used in several quick play games. This is a stark contrast to his previous anti-cosmetic position. Is this drastic demonstration of change an indication that he may be open to changing his stance on other controversial topics?

Gamin4Hope extremely homophobic stream

I posted this elsewhere but I didn’t know this sub existed. Gamin4Hope was openly banning people who were calling him out as he was saying that being gay was a sin and an issue. You’d think he would have learned something after the Trevor Project incident but he didn’t. Here are some of the things said that got people banned

Players in Champion/High GM are abusing cheater compensation and Blizzards report system to boost their accounts

The Champion/high GM playerbase is small enough that you run into the same players every game. Some players are choosing others to target and spam report for cheating--players who are not cheating--to get them banned and get cheater compensation.

This is because Blizzard's report system works on a threshold where if a player is reported enough (probably within a small period of time) they will be automatically banned. There is virtually no way to be unbanned because the support system is automated. It only takes a few games of spam reporting someone to get them banned.

>what about private profile/anonymous mode

This can help but if you one trick a hero or stream then people will figure out who you are. They don't need to be 100% certain anyway if they have a single suspicion they can report, you don't get punished for false reporting.

>what should be done?

Cheater compensation needs to be removed or the report system needs to be fixed (unlikely).

>proof?

So is there no backup clip of what Dafran said and got banned on twitch or even a mention of it at all or what?

I read on his youtube live chat that he said something homophobic or similar to arab teammates in vc.

He mentioned himself it was funny and made sense in the heat of the moment and it wouldnt make sense if he repeated it and I sort of see that as I can't imagine any homophobic joke that requires timing.

How did <this content creator> get famous?

Do you guys know how some content creators got "famous"? I know Frogger got his big following from being a Lucio otp, Super is one of the best pro players in OW history and the community's court jester, and G4H is a MAGA bigot.

How about other streamers?

What have been your favorite Narratives, Nicknames, Memes, Drama, etc, from all seasons of OWCS?

Hey guys, I'm writing a paper on how storylines, nicknames, memes, etc, help shape the way we consume esports, specifically OWCS. It'd be great to get the community's thoughts on the topic, as this isn't exactly a topic I can cite "official" sources for! Thanks!

cant rank up playing/carrying on support is just impossible

Hello, I am seriously considering quitting. I need some advice. I am hardstuck in Bronze 1. my peak is Silver 3. I have been stuck in Bronze 1 for about 2 years now. I have 2000 hours in the game, and I take it very seriously: VOD reviewing, Kovaaks, watching pros who play Zenyatta like I do, but it seems I just cannot carry my team enough on support when they are bots. I am so held back by playing support. I wish I would’ve put all my time into DPS so I could actually carry myself out of my rank. I have a coworker who is really super good at the game, and he watches my gameplay and coaches me sometimes, but he usually doesn’t have much to say, just that I will never be able to rank up on support. He also said that my gameplay is close to that of a Diamond support. He said I am even better than a lot of supports in his games. If anybody knows how to play Zenyatta, please help me. I usually average about 7k heals per game in a full around 10–15 minute game, and 2–3k damage, which I feel like is super high for a support, but due to my lackluster teammates, I can’t do it. And that stupid Winston character is impossible to beat. I think it should really be nerfed. I lose a lot of my games to Winston, which is also a huge problem. If you guys have any advice, please feel free to share it. I’m at a breaking point. I love this game, but I’m not sure it’s worth my time anymore when I am so limited by the role that I chose and my stupid rank. Thanks, guys. I’m sure a lot of people have felt similar frustration. My heart goes out to y’all.
